Back from Gore. That was awesome! Mad props to DerQ for being a great host, and to everyone else for making it happen. Shouts later. We should do this again, Gore's in an awesome location! -

We play everything in MTL, even old games no one's heard about. Ask Monster King about those as he's got a Ph.D in FG History. -

Canada Day weekend is a-go for moi. I can likely bring a sleeping bag for myself if necessary. -

I'm not saying BB is bad! I've had loads of fun with the game, so don't get me wrong. And I'll leave it at that since it seems the topic overstayed its welcome. -

Ah, whoops, I left out an important bit from my post. I meant to say that BB never really completely delivered (as much as that other fighter -- GG), when it could have been more. If it kept the most popular characteristics from CT, then it likely could have achieved wider success. As it is, it was mostly riding SFIV's hype coattails. These characteristics were CT's game speed, short combo length, and ease of access for a newbie. It's hard to accurately describe it, but CT's combo system felt like it had more freedom than its successors. Starting with CS1, there were more limitations on execution, such that it became a bit stricter or less free-form to use your character. The game was also slower, and combos took way too long. I know some (non-fighting gamer) guys who were put off by these and dropped BB on the dot. I may be wrong on that, but I certainly felt the difference using Jin. I'm saying all this as a player who has experienced GG. GG is quite simply a more fun game with more options and less limitations. I doubt CP's going to do anything to bring me over from GG at this point in time -- top tier Haku practical 10k unburstable OD combos or not. -

I might not touch CP at all outside of Foonzo myself. It's honestly never really completely delivered. If they'd kept the same speed + dmg output as the first game, then it might have been good... -

^ You can never be too early. GGs, Eb! Your zoning Ky is a pain in the ass to deal with. xD Too bad DoT FRC beats everything, though. :P Good games, though. We should play more! -

Ultimate Montreal Air Dashers 2013 Results and Shoutouts

Props to the MTL crew that made it all go smoothly, you know who you are. Pedro for managing everything, Kaeru & Isa for handling arrivals, Brice for bringing the hype, and DerQ/DP/AirMaster/Greenix/whoever else handled brackets. Props also to Foonzo's Phoun and Monica for keeping up with all of us! I was also really impressed with Bibi's setup, I can see you've put in a lot of time and money into it, and it's paid off. Good shit! GGs also to all those I played! Watches, you are Axl. Good stuff. Circ and Ama, thanks for bodying me, and showing me how free I am to Pot/Jam. Shouts to Omar for Slayer mirrors and tips on the Border matchup. I think Kirby likes my DoT -> BBU -> 5H -> etc. Sophisticat special. Just for you. <3 Shouts to M-Han's Iron Handshake. You should be a bodybuilder. Nedel, get on that Anji train. On se fera plus de matchs la prochaine fois! Finally, a big thank you to everyone who made it out to UMAD! I think I even saw some guys who came all the way from Vancouver on the list. Talk about dedication. Hope you all liked it! -
Bibi, I need to play you again, but I don't play BB much anymore, lol. Mac, sorry for the late reply. That looks good after a quick perusal, though. General idea in EX is that Mak's dmg isn't what it used to be, so you can zone/space her like you should have back in CS1. She used to be broken, but now it's Hak's advantage. 6-4 matchup, imo. Mak needs to do some lifting to win.

I am more appalled at the fact that Americans learned of this new beer before us homegrown MTLers. Heads will roll. Where are the ninjas? -

Omg, shoutouts to some really gdlk onion rings. Honestly some of the best I've tasted right there, omg. GGs to everyone. Seems like I got rusty again and my Hakumen seriously needs work. At least my Slayer isn't so bad. Pedro, keep working that Slayer. All I can say right now is practice those combos and get those links down. I hate your mixup, so you're doing something right! Props to DP's Relius for upgrading his tech. I might have to take that guy seriously now. And shouts to Kirby and Bibi for the service as always. We need to get some games in! Might come by this sat. after all since I might need to go somewhere close anyway. We'll see. -

Bell is a plague on humanity. +1 -
You'd be surprised. I know some guys IRL who quit over the execution of quarter circles and DPs. They just couldn't get past it. Execution alone is a huge barrier to newbies trying out these games, regardless of how easy we might find it.

I like how my face is all "yo, damn!" like there were something really fascinating going on. -
FGs probably do have the steepest learning curve/barrier to entry, though. Games like Starcraft and DotA are easy enough to grasp the basics of... But it personally took me a good year or two to do that with FGs, and I'm still learning...

I'll try to make it this Thursday. Need to get in some games or else I'll be dusting off the rust at UMAD.
