The point of running tekken is to extend our community outside of our walls. And it'll give us a bigger catalysts as we try to pitch our tournament to someone who has a lot of influence in the fighting game community (markman, haunts, aksys, madcatz , and koogy). I understand that everyone has mixed feelings about tekken in the venue. But if you leave a good impression to the higher ups, then it'll give them more incentive to invest in the - greater - scheme of things. As Dakanya Alex said, "We simply don't have a presence in [the fighting game community]." so unless we pull our heads out of our ass, it will stay that way.
