What's the best way to handle someone who is in the air a lot? My air game is really weak right now, and I can only start my good combos from the ground, so it really leaves me at a big disadvantage against people who like to hop around a lot.

I play Sol, because he fits my play style the best. I don't find him much of a nuisance at all, and I have an easier time winning with him, then I do most other characters. I don't really know much of anything about navigating nico. I just type something into the search and browse the results. I bookmark something, if I really find it interesting. Here is a good video. kimera cryin (probably the best player) using Sol in a team battle http://www.nicovideo.jp/watch/sm7512693

Pencil Guys are pretty useless, same with Blockhead. Really though, it just depends on the match situation. There are so many ways you could approach a battle, and more than anything you have to simply be able to adapt and alter your strategy to whichever way you see fit, based upon how the battle is turning out. With Sol servant strategy is not all that important, it's all about being fast spamming blades and drills, and taking out all the enemy servants while trying to keep yours safe. I think of it this way. When playing as other characters your servants do most of the work, when playing as Sol, you do most of the work, so I say with Sol summon whatever will help you in doing most of the work. Also look for easy openings to the opponent's masterghost. If you have your firewheel, and or Engulfer out, you can rush the enemy masterghost and wipe it out if it has little or no servants watching it. If you see an empty ghost next to the enemy masterghost, you can capture it real quick, and throw a capture cannon, which depletes half of the masterghost barrier. That will help you with rushing the masterghost. Don't rely on this strategy too much, though, because your opponent won't fall for it so easily after seeing it once, but it catches people off guard, if you're really quick and sly about setting it up. If you fail to pull off the masterghost rush strategy, it could cost you the match, since the time you spend focusing on that could mean that your opponent is pushing closer to your masterghost. Oh and btw. I don't know if you guys have a nico video account or not, but you can search "gg2" and finds lots of good videos of Japanese players.

Can someone please tell me how this combo works that Kaqn does at 2:25 in this video? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eIN52fHO_-w How does he dash so fast after 5DD to get close enough for the 5B -> 3C -> 22C to connect? I've tried to do it for a while now, but it seems like they recover way too fast. I can go from 5DD straight into the 5B, but when I do it that way I'm not close enough to hit them with the 3C -> 22C.

I was browsing a Japanese site and found all kinds of in-depth information on servants. Like stats, damage, and all that. I lost track of the site tough, but I will post it when I find it again.

Most of this stuff is common knowledge, really. I picked a lot of it up from the Japanese players.

Playlist is updated with tricks, and glitches. Combos for Paradigm and Valentine should be up shortly as well.
-
I'll get the rest of the characters up later. I just wanted to put up the ones that are most popular. Paradigm has combos, but they are very situational, and Valentine has a lot of combos, but she is more about zoning, so you rarely get a chance to pull them off.

I'm throwing the link to my youtube playlist up here. It has my GG2 combo vids, and online match vids. http://www.youtube.com/view_play_list?p=C2252F012F5CF293

I've noticed a large surge of new players popping up, and I don't want them to get owned and give up on the game, so I'm trying to help them out, but it gets tiring teaching each person one by one, so I'm probably going to whip up a real quick guide, and some basic combo videos for them to look at.

Today I just beat the crap out of Hirokosuke's Sol with my Raven. When I'm rocking one of the best players in the game when he is using Sol, then it's clear that Sol isn't the best at anything. I think people are just too afraid when fighting Sol, because Sol has such an aggressive fighting style. You just have to keep your cool, find an opening, and take advantage. Sol has no range either, which means that pretty much every other character in the game can zone him hard, especially when servants are around. You can even stand behind a ghost, which makes it hard for Sol to get to you as well. That's like the best thing to do with Paradigm, is to just strafe around a ghost while throwing bombs and apples. edit: I see you're little quote there, Ayumu...

Sol becomes a whole lot easier once you start sidestepping, and stop letting him hit you until your guard breaks.

Mostly everyone online has the holy knight stage, except for the people who go online once, get owned, and never play again, so it's not really a waste to get, if you plan to spend more than 10 minutes playing online. It's a really hard map to play on though, and it's not all that special either, it's just that after you've played several hundred matches online, it's nice to have an extra map pop up in random select every now and then. and yeah, information for this game is scarce, but me, and all the other english speaking regulars post on gamefaqs frequently, and always answer any questions that we can. I know pretty much everything about this game myself, and I've always wanted to write some type of guide for it, or make some video tutorials, but I just never have the time, or dedication for that kind of stuff. I really wish I did, though, since I love this game like no other game I've ever played, and I think many other people would as well, if there were some good guides, and such to check out.

So who exactly is the best Ragna? From what I've seen, I would have to say it's Kaqn, but it seems some people have seen better?
-
My xbox isn't exactly working either, lol.
-
That's because AJ is good, and Sol is his best. Regardless of tier position, player skill is what is most important.
-
I wouldn't really say stuff like this makes him the best fighter at all. The only time Sol can really even excel in combat is when it's a 1vs1 situation, but nobody that knows what they are doing is going to randomly stop in the middle of nowhere and have a 1vs1 against Sol, unless it's a part of their strategy. You just have to jump high enough to get over the wall. Certain walls only go so high up, so with Valentines ability to double jump, you can get over these walls. I never tried it in survival, but in bel canto you can do it pretty easy by running down the staircase in the tunnels on the side of the stage, and jumping when you're near the bottom, and then going into the jump, dash, jump, dash, melee setup to get over it. I might make a video later. I had actually planned on making a video to show some tricks and glitches for a while now, but I just haven't gotten around to it yet.
-
You can definitely do all that stuff in the english version. I figured out how to do all that kind of stuff on my own. Me and the others were messing around with this stuff, and we found out all kinds of crazy things you can do. Bel Canto also has some interesting "out of bound" points, where you can step on them, and get instantly teleported back to your masterghost. Free bye-bye ftw. I made a video as well with some high damaging sol combos I figured out, and some of them are 100% combos. The combos start at 0:43. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1RmJGNRePIc&feature=channel_page

Alright. Thanks for the help everyone. I've figured out the timing, although I can't get it consistently yet, but I at least know how to do it.
-
What is the high jump timing for attacks? Do I have to buffer it, or can it only be done on certain frames? I can do high jump easily on it's own, but it never works when I'm trying to follow up an attack with it.

It's because Xithmos is an achievement boosting noob. I have some matches on my youtube channel, which is better then a replay, since you can see everything I'm doing. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jTrFY94EXic&feature=channel_page

Anyone here want to join in on a tournament I am setting up? It will be this weekend, and I will have more details by tomorrow. The tournament will be singles and teams for masters only and normal servant play, and it will be double elimination. Teams will be random, and if the match disconnects, you restart with the same teams. Here is the current list of players and what they will participate in. 1.PandaKingEX - All 2. FlameMasterAJ - All 3. AntiKirby - All 4. Xithmos - All 5. BladeOfJustice7 - All

No way that Paradigm in near the bottom. He is the only character that can summon 4 sets at the start of the match, which pretty much means he will be dominating the map at the beginning of the game, and the opposing player will always be starting at a disadvantage against Paradigm. One of the best players in this game is also a Paradigm user. These are some of the best players from what I've seen, although I haven't gotten to see each of them face off yet, so I don't know exactly who is the best. Kimera Cryin. Best Valentine user, and very likely to be the best player. HN Tappu. Best Paradigm user. Hirokosuke and lxl hapi lxl. Best Sin users. (Not sure which one of these are better, as I haven't gotten to see them face off yet.) Panda62. Best Sol and Raven user. (I saw HN Tappu completely destroy his Sol in 2 rounds.) Not sure about Ky. Paruga and Guilty Blood are solid Ky users, but I can beat these guys. Same with Izuna as well. I haven't really seen any stand out Izuna players.

He is a really annoying character. His teleport, and slow down personal skills are beyond annoying, and he has a nice set of projectile moves. If you play him well, it's hard for anyone to take you in head to head combat, but he has a handful of flaws. He lacks good servant killing moves, has pretty much no crowd control, and his personal skills are beyond useless outside of attacking a master, so despite him sharing the same set of servants as Valentine, he is considerably worse overall. I have this raven combo video I made a while ago, and it shows a general idea of how he plays. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cf-7Xys24CQ

Sin has the cheapest combos in this game. They take no effort, deal ridiculous damage, and are nearly impossible to burst out of.
