  1. 1 - I know what a blue beat combo is, that is why I specified blue beat combo. Generally, when a combo starts to blue beat, it isn't capable of carrying on for much longer, which is what I was getting at with 'his blue beat combos last forever'. The holding the button thing is good to know (I thought i had heard that, but wasn't positive), but like, techs can be baited by players who really know what they're doing. 2 - You make it sound so easy. He got me right as I was starting an air dash. Maybe I still could've escaped, but the pressure~ 3 - I realize that, but it still seems faster than it used to be. Toward the end I as adjusting (hence, winning the last match), but he kept getting me with it in the first two. I'd like to think I'd be more on top of this stuff, but I try not to spend more than 1,000 - 1,500 yen per arcade visit, and bemani games are usually a safer investment because anyone worth fighting in BB is probably going to beat me at least once before I beat them.
  2. Incoming ramble. As someone who hasn't kept up on Mu tech at all since the game came out (since CS2 came out, really), I was happy to discover today that you can cancel 6B into 6C. I'm sure literally everyone already knew that, but it's certainly making me perform less poorly in general now that I know. Combine that with 214D (if you have steins in the right place), and you can actually get some decent damage off it! Now I just need to figure out what one does with 63214 B. I've only played a few dozen real matches, due to no money, but I finally played a competent Hakumen today. I think I get why that guy is top tier, man, he's scary. The guy had 300 matches, and 200 or so wins, so he was probably competent (I hope). I fought him 3 times, and won the last time, but lost the two previous times. All of the matches were very close though. One round, he basically took 75% of my life off in like one blue beat combo. Maybe I just don't know how to approach him right, but he's got scary blue beat combos. Screw up once, and you're stuck for another 5 seconds. He kept countering my stein stuff with his D super too. Could he always do that? I've fought tons of Hakumen online in CS/CS2, but most of them were bad, so I wouldn't know. Also, his (new?) aerial straight down thing is really intimidating, and I feel like his aerial moves come out faster than they used to (I've played virtually no CSEX, but once again, in CS/CS2, I fought a ton of Hakumen online, so I'm pretty sure I haven't forgotten how to time Mu's aerial C to beat Hakumen's...it's not impossible though, maybe I did.)
  3. I haven't fought any real Tao's yet, but I was playing score attack route D, and nearly lost to Tao who was mostly projectile spamming, it was really weird. I don't like it.
  4. That'd be neat. Colors are the least of my worries, though more colors that don't drastically alter the characters hair colors would be nice. Not sure why all 'anime' fighter seem to think that's mandatory all the time. If there's another loctest in Tokyo, hopefully I hear about it ahead of time. I saw the sign for it on a machine at HEY the other day, and thought 'ooh, loctest?', and all it said was 'COMING THIS WINTER', or something. Also, I'm terrible at this game and haven't played it at all since the US version came out, so my potential participation would serve to enlighten no one but myself. I hope they change the system mechanics in such a way that I'm not inexplicably totally incapable of ever defending against anything / it always seems like my attacks are slower than the opponents no matter who I'm fighting, even if I use Weiss. It'd be nice if they made Maori's combos a little less impossible to do in a real match. I probably spent 5 hours learning how to do one of them, until I could get it right like 50% of the time in training, but I never even came close to pulling it off once in a real match. Granted, the online lag was kind of weird...I'll stop rambling.
  5. So uh, I know it doesn't "matter", but have the interface and stages changed at all? I really liked AH3, but the stage selection was pretty boring, and none of the music was memorable.
  6. That combo doesn't seem like something that's likely to happen at all. Your opponent would have to be really cocky to let themselves get hit by a point blank OD explosion. Generally if I'm that close to the opponent, they're not going to just be standing there.
  7. Here are some low res cell phone pictures of 4 of Mu's 5 default alts, because why not. Maybe somebody wants to see them, but is too lazy to go through videos. The high-res images are all of the unlockable ones right? http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y20/MIAB13327/mu2.jpg http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y20/MIAB13327/mu4.jpg http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y20/MIAB13327/mu5.jpg http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y20/MIAB13327/mu6.jpg I ran out of time, and didn't get her green one. It's uh, green. I remember thinking it looked a lot like her dlc green palette, but now I can find no evidence that such a palette exists (not the white spandex one, one where she's naked as usual, but her robot parts are like, medium green.)
  8. Ug, the Asuka pallet was hideous in CS, and it's tweaking it slightly didn't help. Oh well, the first one, and the light blue one are ok, and the second one has a pretty nice balance. I guess I have nothing to complain about as long as I can use the Dizzy skin.
  9. Woo, skipping CSEX paid off. I got up stupidly early today, but most arcades don't open until at least 10 so I went back to bed. I should probably go play this now...if it turns out I'm not good enough to beat the scrubs I'd been fighting using Mu I will be very sad.
  10. Amane isn't a trap character at all. He's a keep-away then pull in and chip with drills character.
  11. Seems to be. I was able to do it several times using the same input as before.
  12. I tried playing as him a bit today. You'd think players would give me a round when the machine is set to best of 3, and it's obvious that I am not a threat to their 'character who has existed for years' skills, but nooo. I didn't even realize his D moves could be held, though I may have been doing it unconsciously at times. I definitely felt like I wasn't playing him right; though you can breeze through arcade mode by doing nothing but hitting D over and over if you so choose to. His drives really do a crazy amount of damage at level 3, but at not-level-3 he does so little damage it's not even funny. Also, his C overdrive does about as much damage as a jab, am I missing something there.
  13. I feel like if Mu were as broken as the complainers say, we'd see more of her. She's more fun to use than anybody else, so I use her.
  14. That blurry photo I posted doesn't count for anything? I tried playing as Bullet today, and some Jin (again!) challenged me, and I almost beat him even though I had no idea what I was doing. I figured Bullet would be a bit more intuitive than Amane, and I was correct. Then I beat him with Carl, and played through his story. I haven't really used Carl since CT, and his moves have so many different properties now, I don't know how to combo into anything, bleh. I did get off Nirvana's super punchy powered-up OD though, and his new astral. Boss Relius was so braindead easy that I didn't even realize he was supposed to be a boss. Played through arcade with Bullet after that; boss Nu at least tried a little. Bullet seems like a decently fun rushdown / grappler, but unless there's something important I'm missing (and that's entirely possible, since her moves have weird follow ups, and I couldn't figure them all out) I still like Makoto better. Is there are FAQ somewhere (that isn't outdated) on how to...do whatever I need to do so that I'm not NO NAME. [edit] Nevermind, figured it out. For some dumb reason when it was asking me to make a players guild ID, I thought it was asking me what my pre-existing ID was. And to avoid having anybody rush in to correct me, right, the default name is BB PLAYER, not NO NAME, or NO-NAME which is what it is in VF.
  15. Definitely Mu. None of her moves are 'automatic' traps, but her drive can be used to lock opponents down, or do big damage depending on how you use it.
  16. As a Mu main, I gotta say, I never liked Sword of Doom. I'd like to comment on the new music and whatnot, but I couldn't hear any of it at the arcade I went to. Glad to hear Carl has a new astral, his was the only one that I never even bothered using against the CPU.
  17. Who needs a direct stream when you could have two blurry cell phone pictures of nothing new! http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y20/MIAB13327/P100005011-21-12.jpg http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y20/MIAB13327/P100004811-21-12.jpg I just wanted to prove I was there, give me a break. I tried to play as Amane, but that Jin player had no sympathy for how obvious it was that I'd never used him. He let up a little toward the end of the second round, but I think he was less trying to let me figure out what I was doing and more seeing if I was bad enough to be finished off by projectile spam (I'm not). I tried using Carl in the rematch and that went better; I almost got a round on him. Bleh. Good players already have an entire version's worth of experience up on me, and now I have to wait two weeks for my main for no reason...
  18. Hell. I'm leaving the country like two days after Mu comes out, she better not be late.
  19. We still don't know for sure if Mu and Nu will be playable from the get-go, right? I kind of don't have any reason to wait in lines to play this if not, but maybe some under the radar places will get it since it's on Nesica. I'll probably wind up doing it anyway, but I'm going to get blown up pretty bad. Kind of an arbitrary questioin, but does anybody know if there are any special Nesica cards for this game? The one I bought is so boring, my e-amuse cards put it to shame.
  20. I dunno, something like Conquest from SCII? I'm not a game designer, but there's gotta be something fresh they can do. Fresher than fight 9 guys + a boss.
  21. Yeah, I've read it all a thousand times. It starts out civil enough, then comes the name calling, and suddenly anyone whose caps lock isn't stuck on is working for capcom. CAPCOPS, CA$HCOM, CRAPCOM, CAPKOOL-AID, been there done that. I hope this game has some kind of special single player mode that's worth playing. It won't, but I hope it does. Arcade mode is no fun anymore.
  22. Can we not have this conversation here. We get it everybody on the internet, you didn't like SFxT. We got it in February.
  23. I accidentally went to the test for this yesterday, saw a big line and no Mu on the character select screen, and was like 'I haven't played BB since CSII, and I haven't played not-Mu since CT. I'm gonna go play VF by myself and cry.' Why does HEY have 6 dedicated setups for P4 and Aquapazza but only half of one for VF, ug.
  24. What happened to my post, was it too negative. I know it went through, I saw it.
  25. The interface is shinier too. Doubt they'd go through that trouble just for a straight port. Good to know AH3 was missing from Nesica for a reason; maybe if I'm still in this country when this drops, I can...oh my god, I'm so bad at AH3, what am I even saying.
