  1. Yeah I like this. It'd make use use the tools we have in Xrd more rather than trying to give us whole "new" ones. Like, I feel like 6K is supposed to be a replacement for 2S vacuum in spirit. But yeah it could stand to be a teensy bit better to just toss out there in a match.
  2. I think that asking for too many things that happened after #Reload is going to leave you disappointed. Did heat knuckle even get knockdown back then? I'm looking at a bunch of old match videos and I see everyone just go into heat extend.
  3. Couldn't you also combo 5P into 2S then? EDIT: Guess I could have just looked at the wiki. Level 1 gives 12 frames of hitstun vs air and 2S has 14 frames of startup. No easy 6K corner combos off Buster > 5P. Blah. Oh well, at least we get something meterless.
  4. Far slash. When you do a 5S and aren't right next to your opponent. So you can tag somebody with 5P when they're in the air and then combo into far 5S and then Heat. It's purdy nice. Edit: Ninja'd
  5. Calm down Nappa. So basically Pot can create a pillar of flame, YRC, and then do stuff while the pillar is still active? Considering the Blitz Shield change of BS'd projectiles causing recoil to the person who threw the projectile if they're close enough to the opponent, this is a bit less of a buff maybe. But still definitely interesting as hell. Maybe I'm missing an application that isn't pure pressure (like I-No's chemical love corner stuff) though. I guess Trish would get better on defense too? I'm not 100% on how the change would impact defense though.
  6. Sound's like you're accidentally hitting some downwards directions when you go to do hammerfall. Just be careful with your motions there.
  7. Yeah I think punishing backdashes is one of the biggest things I need to learn. That and just some kind of actual decent plans for my pressure. What's a good backdash punish if you don't have meter to spend?
  8. While, on the grander scale, I do tend to take issue with command inputs that tend to be daunting to inexperienced players... at the same time you kinda have to accept what you're given in any particular fighting game you pick up. Your three options are to learn, not play at any kind of an optimal level, or not play at all. Sorry.
  9. Woah... We're just spitting out the weirdass Pot tech today.
  10. Uh, woah. That IK stuff sounds a bit silly. ... I need to do this online pronto.
  11. Wow. I wouldn't have even thought to try that. Lol hitboxes.
  12. Pretty sure a successful blitz shield changes your animation to something that recovers quickly enough to punish.
  13. That... doesn't sound like a thing that should be happening.
  14. no I wanted to flick the doughnut
  15. Yeah, I was experimenting with doing something else out of HF YRC and THEN tick throwing, so I'd escape the slow motion. Makes it more predictable I guess, but hey, they still have a Potemkin in their face.
  16. Grab range still seems pretty silly long to me, considering he seems to pull people in from farther than his hands stick out. Even if it was nerfed, it still seems damn good. Regarding FRCs I was only really talking about the damage itself. (also, I'll be honest, I don't miss FRCs as a general concept at ALL) I didn't notice the YRC thing. Do YRCs really force proration on anything you follow up with even if it's not mid-combo? I suppose it is kind of a tradeoff. YRCs ARE really good... Considering how often with Tager I've thought "I'd give up GETB if I got better meterless tools in return," I'm sorta afraid how Pot would end up getting balanced with an actual super command throw at his disposal.
  17. Hey, I've heard some people talk about pot buster being nerfed from previous versions. Is this true? Did it then get un-nerfed or something? Looking at the wiki, in AC+, character health is 460, and pot buster does 160 damage. In Xrd, character health is 420, and pot buster does 140. Obviously 140 is less than 160, but some simple dividing shows that it went from doing almost 35% damage, to doing a bit over 33% damage. (assuming a defense mod of 1.00, of course) While still a nerf it doesn't seem like much to get upset about.
  18. Wow, yeah. I was actually wondering how to more reliably get a slide head > RC > 6H at the end of a match when their health is real low.
  19. I really gotta agree with Elk. Maybe it's just because I'm online and nobody can react to this shit right now, but YRC shenanigans feel SO incredibly good with Pot. I know some of his tools like 2S and 6P and Heat don't quite stack up to some of their earlier versions, and it does make things awkward. But god damn whenever I do HF YRC Buster I get ROCK HARD so hype. It almost feels like if just ONE of his more lackluster aspects was buffed even a bit, he'd suddenly shoot up the tier list. Also I sorta feel like 6K was given to him to sorta make up for the loss of vacuum on 2S. Though you need to HFB it or RC it in some manner to make that work right. Thankfully 6K HFB isn't THAT hard. I just need to get into the habit of doing it. Though I guess you could also just do HF right off of 2S. Or whatever else you're blockstringing with. Is there any advantage to using 6K in a blockstring over HF, even if you cancel it somehow?
  20. Yeah a lot of his strategy seems to just be "just walk forward and block as necessary." Then the fun times happen when you inevitably back them into the corner and they panic.
  21. You'd think it'd be easier, assuming you're good with pad. Since your thumb doesn't have to move far at all, compared to stick movements. I suppose I'll find out tonight though.
  22. Oh, okay. Thought you were just hitting her with it or something.
  23. I feel like grapplers tend to fuck up final bosses, and even high-level CPUs in general. Unless they're immune to being thrown. "Huge damage throw with good reach" isn't something they're typically programmed to deal with for whatever reason. Like, they don't look for tick throws. Not sure if that applies here, but it's something I've noticed playing fighting games. Also I take it ICPM just beats super armor? Which is why it kills Calvados. I guess it's a hit grab. I am get excite for tomorrow. Gotta grab a PS4 tonight...
  24. Hah, yeah, it's like "overrated." I tend to get really incensed about intuitiveness in fighting games (and video games in general) so that's probably where I'm coming from.
  25. Does "dishonest" mean "hard to deal with" though? I can't help but feel the term also implies a certain amount of unintuitiveness. Sure if you learn how to deal, you can deal. But "how to deal" isn't obvious. I dunno, this whole conversation is weird man.
