I think they're just being really fast with the stick. But to be honest I have no idea. I do a lot of Carl shenanigans farely well but yet at the end of the day I have no idea what I'm physcially doing to make it all work. I just kind of move my hands and the next thing you know I've just started a throw loop. -
No no no, the 2D hit is always comboing. Its just that depending on the hit before the opponent will either be able to tech after the 2D or hits or they'll fall to the ground.

Oh my bad, I got fixed on horizontal drive punish. Carl's 5C as you may know will stuff it. But yeah I loose to Tao's run 5C as well. I don't 5C every time just because of that.

Well in general if you hit them less than around 7-8 hits before the 2D hits then they can tech since they are so light. At the 7-8 hit mark they will be able to tech depending on what move or moves you do before the 2D hits. I forgot what the two combos that I was doing were, but one of the combos allowed the 2D to knock them down while the other combo allowed them to tech after the 2D hit. Both combos were the same number of hits. I could repeat these two combos and I always got the same results. I never understood why. Anyways once you get past around 12-15 hits, then the 2D will knock them down because they'll fall faster. I think one of the combos were 4DD 2K (unblockable) cS fS 5D 66 2p 2k cS 2S 2D I noticed little nuances like this in 3rd strike. The height at which a move launches (in our case the dog's 2D) depends on the hit stun animation the opponent had right before they got hit by the launch move.

I feel bad fighting Tagers... until I get hit. Then I'm like "okay you need to die." I never thought about using 3C or allegreto when magnetized. Good idea.

Well bridget, Baiken, ino, and may can all tech from a 2D depending on the situation. If your opponent knows that then you might as well go into an air combo for extra damage before you let them get away. Although you could air grab them.

Congrats on placing 2nd. You have an very good Zappa. One thing that I can say about the bridget matchup is that I'm really patient with it. I'll "time out" the crap out that matchup.

What do you mean? You just should just airdash forward and go for a second throw. I kind of do the throw and 8D simultaneously I think. Throw does have startup which gives the 8D enough time to get past the interrupt window.

I can do it pretty consistently. But when I inevitably mess up I usually drop the combo between the jc and 5B. Honestly you just need to keep on practicing it more. I alway do the combo off of a cross up IAD j2C allecan. That's where my I get my rhythm. IAD j2C 5B 5C 6D j.C 5B 5C 6D j.C 5A 5B 6B 623C 2D 2C 8D throw loop. Without the throw loop we're talking atleast 45% damage. -
Unless I did a super jump to airthrow my opponent I'm now starting to use 5B jb jc 8D. Mostly because there are a lot of times where 2C just isn't fast enough to catch my opponents.

Kyle I'll see if I can hit you up later tonight. My new tag is NOVALANCHE. Now that I'm in college I'll be using my friend's 360 to play. So I'm no longer a lvl 56 carl. I'm now a 38. -_- He still plays on his 360 so its not guaranteeded to be me, but I don't think he's gonna get into blazblue. He was messing around with bang though in training mode however. -

No he's not. His range is garbage and so is his damage without Nirvana. But the throw loop is something no character should have. I feel bad when the person next to me gets pissed because they worked so hard to stay way from me and slowly chip away my health only for me to come back with his trap. With that said, I can still beat anybody who's smart enough not to put themselves in that situation. How do I do that? I just stand behind Nirvana. And make them do what I want them to do. Maybe I was just letting certain peoples comments get to me. I'm playing some really good people but the way one person put it, Carl is no different from the top 3 in the sense that he has something that he can just hide behind, rather than fighting someone man to kid. I don't know. Anyways Carl is fun and I love playing him, but he definitely deserves his A tier position. LOOOOOOOPS!!!!!!! -

After playing a ton of matches with a couple of our players in the BB scene I've come to this conclusion. You know, as much as us Carl players enjoy the sympathy and hardships that come with playing a character with a lot of poor attributes and still winning with him. It still doesn't take away the fact that CARL IS A RETARDED CHARACTER WHO NEEDS TO GET FIXED. I swear I feel real dirty playing this guy sometimes. With or without the throw loop. -
I think he wants to give Nirvana jewlery and bread. =/

Yeah I use to have the same problem. You have to input the 623C sooner than you think. -
the matchup is harder than you think. I friended some good bang players that made my head hurt. Afterwhile I was able to figure the matchup and I started to do fine against them, but it was a learning process.
