  1. Moved the posts asking about Ragna to the match-up threads. Added the question about how to do Valiant combos to the FAQ section since it has now been asked 3 times within as many pages......Although I figured it was obvious between the move descriptions and combo notation (and linked video examples....), but it's there now for future reference.

  3. Don't even bother with 6B. It is situational at best in my opinion and until someone sits down and actually goes through when it is appropriate just stick with 2C and 5B. It is also really weird trying to combo after it.
  4. I haven't had a chance to play against any Amane's but in general there's almost never a "safe" approach option if you're really trying to get in. You can jump/dash/back dash around to try and feel them out and see how they react to things but eventually you have to just throw yourself out there with an attack because more than likely you won't make it in with movement alone. Remember you can cancel his forward dash with a jump, which means you can also TK his specials like Gustaf (236A), which turns into a fairly quick approach that covers a lot of distance. So if you are at complete neutral/fullscreen if you see him whiff an attack during footsies you could try and get in with something like that. Not saying it is full proof but it's something to consider instead of going through the air. Hopefully someone else can give more specifics in regards to what Amane can/will do and ways to avoid it to get in, or else I'll come back to this once I actually play some Amanes.

  7. The whole start of this discussion was that people thought there was a difference of inputs between characters. You can't say the "priority is in fact not different", then literally say 2 characters have different priority than the others. Why they have different priority was the bigger question which is the result of there being a difference, it doesn't change the fact that it is true. Chill out.
  8. No, anything involving 236 after a forward dash needs to be TK'd so it should never be a problem of messed up inputs between moves. For the same reason I never had a problem with Bang's inputs overlapping since his nails had to be TK'd. And for the other "test", the input would be the same regardless as shown in the previous examples. Not once did you see me get D Ice Sword when doing his D DP. So seeing Jin do C DP when I got Tiger Magnum instead for Azrael proves there is a difference. I'm sure there's some characters who have exact overlaps to test it properly with record but it obviously isn't needed. The video was more for any kind of "proof" that there was a difference since people were talking about it. The question of whether or not it is intentional will probably never be answered but it won't happen at all if it is never brought up. EDIT: Ragna and Jin have overlapping inputs across both 236D and 623D. I recorded Jin doing D DP, play it back with Ragna and get Dead Spike. So there you go if you wanted a different example.
  9. To me it isn't about execution and more about why is it like that for some characters and not the others. If it is on purpose and specific between characters then it IS on devs which means they thought about the EXECUTION of the characters and what they are doing in their decision making. To me I see no reason why the input priority should be different between characters, more so if you're trying to be "hardcore" about execution requirements. If that's what you expect then all characters should require 623 DP inputs exactly, which is clearly not the case. So yea, it kinda is on the devs to make that kind of decision.
  10. Made a quick video showing the "bug": You can see the inputs are almost identical and yet I get DP for Jin and Tiger Magnum(236C) for Azrael. And even some of the time I get Sentinel Dump (623C) even when the input is still the same, which is even more weird.
  11. More or less this. Every time I've looked there's been no one using the WC rooms. I could easily name 5+ WC people who I actually recognized in the "EC" lobby, which begs the question why they wouldn't want to actually play each other in even better connections instead of just whoever the hell happened to be there.
  12. That's why I don't really like using the lobby. Instead of people joining the lobby based on location, 99% just joins the "EC" ones.
  13. Just in general since it will apply in other combos, you want to cancel it as soon as you do TC, shouldn't be any special timing on the Valiant itself so just do it asap. But yea as AMB Bakery said, if you are just doing it off throws go straight into Valiant. Off forward throw you want to delay it so you catch them lower to the ground which will help with combos after it but it isn't "necessary" since if you catch them higher they'll just wall splat higher just means your options are more limited. Very basic and simple Valiant combo off both throws that will do fullscreen corner carry, Throw>Valiant>5C Loop*4>3C>6A>2C>6D. Probably isn't the highest damage since I didn't look at the combo thread but it is very easy and does ~4k.

Coming from Bang who wasn't allowed to late-chain his normals (which means Bang has to immediately do 5A>5B no matter what), for Azrael you really just want to visually see the move hit/block and then do the next move. Just take your time with the inputs. Again I'll mention to check the combo thread and look at the section for "Move Timing", as it covers some of that stuff.
  15. I can confirm what Tong said since I was having problems with it on Azrael and never really had the problem before in any other game, BlazBlue or not. Jin has both D DP and D Ice Sword, whenever I do DP input with Jin I get DP even if it isn't "perfect" 623. Azrael has 623C Sentinel Dump and 236C Tiger Magnum, 90% of the time I try DP I get Tiger Magnum instead even though my inputs are no different on Jin. Another example is that I recorded doing Jin's C DP, which he did, then when I select Azrael and playback the exact same input which is for Sentinel Dump I get Tiger Magnum (236C). Even though Jin no longer has a C Ice Sword to overlap with C DP to the point that I could mess up and DP would happen anyway, it doesn't really change the fact that I got DP on one character and "236C" move on another. For BB I can't say if this was a problem before because I only played Bang and his would-be overlapping inputs don't happen because you have to do the Nails in the air. So doing something like 6236X doesn't matter since they would only come out if I did 2369X anyway. The little time I spent on GG I don't ever remember having that problem with Sol when doing Wild Throw / Bandit Revolver. And pretty sure it doesn't happen to me in something like SF4 either. In my opinion this is a bug because it makes little sense to have it like that for one character and not the other (or multiple ones in this case). Or at least some kind of oversight. If it is intentional that is really stupid lol. I imagine it's kinda hard to know if it was like that in arcade as well. Part of me wants to make a video for "proof" and tweet it to Mori + Pachi and see if they actually say anything about it. Or get someone who knows Japanese to tweet them about it at least.
  16. I guess your netplay tolerance is higher than mine. I play the game for fun, lag isn't fun, and there's plenty of people who don't lag as much so why wouldn't I just move on and play someone else? Seems like common sense to me.

Anyone who is doing Azrael's Challenge mode combos, here's the combo I did to complete mission #25 without referencing the combo thread: Do a Crush Trigger combo that does over 4,000 damage: #25 = CT > 3C > 22C > 5B > TCL > 5B > 2C > 5B > OD > OD BHS And here's mission #30 that I posted in the video thread already, Use all of Azrael's drive related moves within the same combo: #30 = http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z7DfrSKs6Xc You can pretty much do whatever you want for these combos as long as it has the requirements so I'm sure there are plenty of other options. I will post these in the FAQ section in case anyone else asks again (and hopefully reads that thread first lol).
  19. Not sure how much it will help but in the Combo Thread there is a section on "Move Timing". In the Combo Thread there is a section on "Character Specific" information, not sure how much of it will apply to what you are doing but at least it is something to look over for any other stuff like that. I'll be going over things like that when I actually get the game so hopefully anything related to that stuff will be cleared up.

Since people are starting to get the game now I decided it would be good to have a clean slate for the discussion thread and for people to hopefully read things (like the other threads) before skipping to the "most recent" posts in this thread. It'd be great if the major focus of the Azrael forums are the match-up threads since that is really what the game comes down to and we already have a ton of known combos and general gameplay so things like that don't need to be explored as much. I started posting info in some of the threads but had to stop since I got busy when I was doing them all. Anyone who can translate Japanese good is more than welcome to help out with some of the info that I posted in certain match-ups that came from the jp wiki / jbbs. I'll be going back through and posting basic info when I get a chance so that there's at least some kind of general understanding of things. I posted matches of mostly Dogura / Tahichi in each of the match-up threads so that people can hopefully use them as a reference of what to do / what not to do and to also try and pick apart anything from the matches that seem useful and post it in the threads. Anyone who is new to the Azrael forums and happens to actually read this, please take the time to read the other threads, particularly the Character Overview thread. There's a lot of information that has been gathered over the last 10-11 months that should be more than useful to anyone playing Azrael.
