  1. You don't need FC to do 6K. I do believe raw 2C xx Collider > Collider whiff (magnetized) > MTW + Break + follow up combo does like 6k+. Also Sledge and Spark are more offensive tools than defensive IMO, and you're not exactly going to use them to get you out of close range pressure. Also huge hitbox = fuzzy guard bait.
  2. So ... was your sig always so similar to mine? I mean, technically, it means that you should be maining Bang too ... :psyduck:

  3. You better be spamming 1A in those NorCal vids when they're uploaded :V.

  4. The majority of the time, it's either being used as an anti-air (in which case I block, land, and do nothing, and I'm not sure if I can punish it when I land) or it's used to punish bad blockstrings. I've had more success baiting Hotenjins than baiting this DP.
  5. You can also do 360A to catch him out of the overhead. Also, after watching Maho's vids and after playing a bit of Hazama recently, I find that CH 2A is a nice situational anti-air for his drive movements. If he does the B-Drive pull, sometimes you can do a 360A and catch him as he lands. But yea, situational, don't rely on these. Also, Hazama's DP is annoying me as well (214D > B).
  6. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x755G8KL8S8 Note: after a FC 2C, you can do j.2C, 2b, 2c xx collider in place of 5c xx collider in some of the combos in the vid. Also, yea, both Coopa and Orion were just overly aggressive (almost no blocking lol). If you watch an earlier vid of me vs Tofu (horrible lol), it's just me and him walking back and forth half the time (well after I stop doing stupid Dora throw whiff crap) and fishing for 5C's and 5D's because we know that we can punish each other badly if we both start getting too aggressive. I would honestly say spend most of the time on the ground. Jump only if you want to punish a command grab.
  7. I second everything Mike Z says with regards to Tager mirrors. 360A > 2B > Collider (You can do B-Gadget afterwards, but I hate doing Gadget against Tager Edit: personally, I go for 2D), and more Fatal Counter combos (you could have done Maho's corner FC combo twice). Against the Lambda, I'm not sure why you're doing 5C > 6A > Collider after a CH Sledge on the ground >.>. Also, you don't need to do Collider > 6C > Collider in the corner since it'll send Lambda out of the corner. Personally I'd go for 6c > j.2C, and then you can do whatever (e.g. Sledge A, 2A, Collider reset; delayed Sledge A (will whiff), 720; meaty 2B; etc.) Edit: She was magnetized too, so if you really needed a double collider combo, you could have done a Collider whiff combo which should do more damage. Edit2: Actually, wait, WTF, you had 100% meter at that point, you should have done 6C xx MTW + Terra Break to end the round. Edit: More Tager mirror things - You really don't need to super jump against Tager, you'll just get 2C'd (Though you were doing most of the 2C-ing I guess). Even if you barrier block a 2C after a super jump, they can Collider you after you block it since you're still in the air and your hitbox is so big - If you need to jump, honestly, a normal jump is just fine. Normal jump j.B > j.C > j.B is a good piece of Tager specific offense.
  8. Oh shit, foiled and out-trolled. As expected from a Bang player . I'll get you next time Dacid. Now start spamming 2A so you can get 2nd place.
  9. Yea, I'm totally trolling you Dacid. :p Note: That match was recorded probably before the first vid of you ever came out on youtube. LOL. Edit: and I agree, there's nothing wrong with j.A and 5A when it works.
  10. Glad I came back for this. Interesting character distribution - 3 Tagers, 3 Ragnas, 3 Hazamas and 3 Tsubakis. All 3 Tsubakis in the Top 4. 2 Lambdas 2 Noels. The others all have one solo representative. No Bang or Carl. Also, 2 Waterloo and 2 Cambridge in top 4. REPRESENT (no thanks to you Wu). It was actually a good idea to run BB with teams, otherwise the tourney would have lasted WAY too long. Shout outs (using Pui's names): Team Galileo (Can I be Galileo7 then?): - DarkDeath: First match of the day for me, and I don't know if you remember but the last time I played you was when CS had just come out, and you actually beat me after I had won my first game in CS,preventing me from starting my first winstreak, so this is revenge lol. I only found out how to beat 4C later! (720!) Come out and play more at Gety! - Ken: when I saw you beasting with your 20 win streak and I found out I had to fight you the first round, I thought that was a bad sign for me. I still think you're a better player than me, but I can see tournament jitters really got to you though. Wu said after the tourney that I have "positive tournament proration". I actually don't think I perform any better in tourneys than in casuals, but I don't really get nervous when in fighting game tourneys, and I try to treat things as another casual match (but it's a "serious" casual match, so I guess I don't experiment as much or do stuff like spam air grabs lol). And on the flipside, other people get nervous and who better to punish bad tournament mistakes and nervous habits than Tager? Only solution is to get more tournament experience! Team We Miss John (I like Team Wararar better): - Pui: Oh man, I want to fight Hazama more and get more experience, I ate all your shit lol. Too scared of Hotenjin. Needs more Carl though lol. - Hermes: Nothing to say other than I really wanted to play you in the tourney lol. Team Tager (wtf): - Kellfire: Tager mirrors are a bitch. Need more match-up experience here lol. - Worldjem: Good Lambda, I was scared at idea of possibly fighting you. You really know how to snipe with the 6D's and 2D's lol. Team Cambridge: - Kyle: I was scared to fight you cause I know you have a lot of Tager experience. GJ with the 100% Heat mix-up, that random Hotenjin RC 3C totally mindfucked me. I returned the favor with Sledge RC 2B though lol. - Kumori: I commented on your improvement at the tourney in person, but I just want to mention it here. Your Melty pressure, defense and spacing felt a lot more solid lol, looks like your MBAC experience pays off! Play more MBAA though! GJ at holding it down and OCVing my team. I really didn't expect you to take me out tbh, but I have no excuses and I'm really glad that you guys have improved. Teams I didn't play: Team AN Champ + Team Dawn Plays? (a.k.a. Team AN Runner-Up) - I repeat, why are the two AN guys tier whoring with Ragna? Woo hoo. Oh and I watched that Slayer mirror, lol, epic. p.s. Daniel: Watch Fio or Shonen's Litchi! Team Asdftaunt: - I actually really wanted to fight you guys in the tourney. Especially Jabir ... it's a totally different match with Tager vs Tao when Tao's got the 6C taunt loop down. GJ with the Potemkin vortex in GG. BTW, Jabir, watch the beginning of this vid if you want to see Tager 360A a 6C http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oGPBWAP2ilA p.s. Asdf should have used his beastly Beginner mode Tager lol. Team Scammed: - omg so scammed. Double down fucks Rachel over so badly. Rachel without a burst in the last round is instant ggpo. Then again you cheated and switched order when you fought Wu; why you trying to scam K2? GDLK T-SHIRT BTW. Team Horse Racing: - Tim! I wanted to play you! Why don't you play more often, I want more Lambda experience! Tony you too, more Hazama experience is needed. Team Pui's Enemies: - All my praise is reserved for Nazir. So gdlk, so good. I was hoping I'd fight Nazir in the tournament setting, but it didn't happen (my fault entirely). Thank you for buying drinks afterwards. Much respect for this man. Wu, you spend all this time training with me, doing 5k corner combos, landing haida loops perfectly, and then you drop them everytime in the tournament, and you only got to land that corner combo once Pui was mindfucked by Nazir. Don't let tournament jitters get to you! Not to say you didn't do any work, gj with the timeout on K2 LOL, but do better next time! neorussell Hey, your (first) prediction worked out! Team Top 4! Neo and Leo lol. Thanks for teaming up with me, though you had me scared when the tourney started and you weren't around. GJ with blocking two bursts in a row lol, but it kind of seems hard to punish a baited burst with Tsubaki eh? That's all, I'll see you guys on Friday.
  11. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FJQsaMCOr7k Just a vid showing the Itsuu-A loop combos in action, for those who were wondering.
  12. lol, I knew it was Galileo before I even clicked the link. Good old Galileo. If there were more vids of him, this thread would be renamed "Galileo Videos". Edit - More Kouhatsu vids means more Galileo vids (great defense, great reads as always): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eb52fFUHvZs (vs Nezu Bang, spamming 2C during FRKZ is legit though IMO) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ordin6ZEU48 (vs Lucky Litchi, fucking amazing match) And yea he really does go by "Galileo".
  13. Hit stun is determined by the attack level. 4D is a level 4 attack. Also, 2B was +5 in CT =/. Other changes worth noting: - 5A buffed to a Level 1 attack (before it was Level 0) - 5C has only 1 frame faster start-up from CT (That 1 frame really makes a difference!). Recovers 2 frames faster so it's now -3 on block - 5D recovers 15 (!!!) frames faster - 5B, 2B, 2C, j.A buffed so that they now have 100% starting proration 100% starting proration off a low? This is really good to know! Especially since Tager has a 40% combo rate now. After looking at the data, it seems the combo rate is the main reason Tager's damage is somewhat lower in this game when compared to CT. Edit: Actually, why doesn't Tager's 3C have 100% proration everyone else's 3C does. The fact that j.A is 100% starting proration is neat too. Since you can reverse beat Tager's air attacks now, you can cancel a blocked j.B into j.A and sometimes it'll hit the opponent fuzzy since they were trying to block a low after the j.B, and then you can go into a combo right after with 100% starting proration. The amount of head invinc. on 2c is smaller than I thought it would be though. Edit: Collider is a lot longer than I thought it would be as well. 2C still feels a lot more reliable though.
  14. Even if you do your 720, and the Hazama player buffers a Hotenjin during your super flash, as long as you hold the button down, your 720 will catch him.
  15. http://www.nicovideo.jp/watch/sm9655431 Just want to bring attention to the midscreen double Itsuu-A combo at 10:54.
  16. The one fatal counter combo that I dropped was me trying to do j.C whiff j.B OTG after the Collider. For the record, I haven't been able to pull the j.B OTG off consistently, and I'm wondering if there's some trick to doing this. These are actually casual matches held AFTER a 2v2 tournament.
  17. I should be in for BB. Though I guess I need a partner now ...
  18. Totally not proud of that match Regardless, I didn't realize this wasn't posted, and I'm sure you've all seen this, but I think it's mandatory that everyone watch Galileo's 30+ something winstreak on the GameACHO Youtube channel: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WOsxjzRFGb4 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FF_dwYP9Ex0 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=txixeGT1mlo http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y7Q5sL_G-LI http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X79N0zhssAA http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F2dIFz3Qqew http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b4JIenq-D_k http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yTpVmuLUXp0 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AGC2-S65bYk http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xBEU46e4ccM
  19. So, I just saw the second match in this vid. The Tager dodges the 4C at points by just doing a normal jump forward + j.D and scores a counterhit. I'm going to have to try this myself the next time I play, but it seems like a pretty good way to approach.
  20. More on dealing with j.B pressure. 2A can stuff j.B on start-up, if they do repeated j.B pressure, yes. I've also had very mild success with IB-ing a j.B and doing 360B right after (seen other Tager players just do 360A). Also, if the Kune player does a falling j.B really low to the ground, and you do 360A at around the same time, you should catch him. e.g. To give a simple example, if the Ara does j.6A > falling j.B blockstring for pressure, if you do a 360A after the j.6A, the j.B will completely whiff and go through your invinc-frames and you'll catch him right when he lands.
  21. It's not that his sword is a part of his hitbox, but rather when he does 4C, he sticks out his arm a bit.
  22. 4C has a bit of start-up and extends his hitbox a bit. If the Haku's magnetized, and you're at the right distance, you can 360A and catch him out of his 4C.
  23. Is it possible to record GG on a direct feed or no?
  24. Alright, every Tager in Ontario must come out to this tourney now. And they must all be put in K2 and Wu's brackets. GO GO GO. Get hype for Tager Massacre.
