  1. I am officially done with college. No more exams or lame assignments. Once WKU sends that sweet paper, it's time to kick this bad economy's ass!
  2. For those really bored, go to this: http://www.majorleaguegaming.com/prizefights Click on the polls tab on the right, and spam votes for SC5. Beware that the options do randomly switch positions, so don't accidentally vote for MK.
  3. Okay, you say this, then you consider picking up GG? LOLWAT? Good luck finding non-majors running GG as a side tourney. You better stick to BB if you at least want a tourney. You guys get still get decent numbers for BB, so I have no idea why you'd all drop it. Ohio isn't a BB-centric area, and in fact, Bama and Georgia both have BB players. This means that MWC should have decent numbers for that game. I play SC5 and Marvel, two very dead games in mid-TN. I told Milln to get rid of SC5 in the lineup, but keeping Marvel seems right since it does interest our Bama counterparts. Some of them are coming up THIS month to play it.
  4. Nice job Chandler, Tad, and Naimat.
  5. So what I'm seeing is that you pick the "bare abs" characters.
  6. Oh, and this is happening. It'd be cool if some of you KoF players went to this.
  7. Starlight, Laststar, Lumin(ous), Midnight, Grimstar. We've got a freaking solar system going on.
  8. Then there's this... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Rdg_kgnTNhw&feature=player_embedded
  9. Only because I don't even play the game any more. If I knew his new combos and oki setups, I would've won. I also failed at churning butter since I haven't done it in months. Don't worry though, that Tager fear will come back. Congrats to the placers though.
  10. You forgot Midnight's mom. From yesterday, I beat Doro using a random team, which will now be a new gag.
  11. I like how Lumin is a fan of ours. It makes me feel like we really accomplished something. And I'm not being sarcastic either.
  12. Not sure I'm even going, or if I am, who I'd be riding with.
  13. I would ride with you all, but you have tiny-ass-car-mcgee.
  14. Okay, I guess it's my turn to post a wall o' text. The best thing to make yourself better is netplay. It's as simple as that. With netplay, you are exposed to all matchups and any tricks/strats the opponent may use against you. That's how I was decent beck in my Blazblue days. Your scene can make you stronger, but that's not their sole purpose. If you're losing to someone offline, ask them why. Ask them where the openings are and what you are doing wrong. It's also important to note that frame knowledge isn't everything. Sure, it helps, but knowing frames doesn't make a player good. You don't know how many times I've heard people say, "Why are you attacking after that?! You're at a disadvantage..." while playing SC5. Surprising your opponent and not following the general formula of things will win you matches. Being a training mode monster means NOTHING either. Sure, it helps execution and setting up scenarios, but it doesn't prepare you for mindgames and mixups. I think this scene has been a huge success. Chandler and Volpe levelled up tremendously. Despite what people say or think, Star was and still is a good player, as he placed third at MWC last year. Naimat's Bang was always solid, but gets flustered too easily midmatch. Papstr really started doing some work and nearly beat me with Ragna last time I played him. When Milln had time, he'd practice execution, and it started showing for a while. Tad is Tad; he'll gulp a few beers and kick your ass. Someone told me that Klein started doing pretty well... I didn't know because we never got to play. lol Star, a scene's skill will eventually plateau. We also don't play every, single character, so our matchup experience is limited. You're also hard-headed and sometimes passive aggressive. Then when someone says something about, you throw your hands up with a "woe is me" attitude. I'm not saying this to piss you off or start anything. I'm just giving you an outsider's view. Naimat is stubborn too. It's largely a part of his personality. You can never convince him that he's wrong about something, no matter how ridiculous his opinion is. This is why you (Star) and Naimat clash so much. For those who have forgotten, there were only 53 entrants in BB at Final Round. Therefore, don't expect us to break much over 10.
  15. Lies. I've been to far more of their tournaments than you, and I've rode (ridden?) to out-of-state events with them. I'm also less white than you. LOLOLOL
  16. Money matches just became pants matches. Fighting games just got a little friskier.
  17. Fighting game community relationships >>>> sitting in a dark room, pantsless in front of your computer typing to random people.
  18. Well, we'll probably bring in really low numbers on the 31st, because there's a Tuscaloosa tournament the same day. I get really tired of tournaments falling on the same day.
  19. I lol'ed at CSEX getting FEWER entrants this year than BB did last year at FR. That kind of proved that the game is pretty much dead, or close to it. It also proves that many had the same idea: forget CS2 extensions, I'll wait on CS3. At least, that's why I didn't pick up Extend. Milln, there were 40-something Marvel teams. Pat and I got 9th. As for running BB in our tourneys, that's ultimately up to you.
  20. I forgot Kyle in my shoutouts! Dude, thanks for watching a few of my matches. I laughed whenever you said, "I couldn't cheer you on because you were destroying the other guy so badly. It would've been disrespectful."
  21. SHOUTOUTS!!! Milln - Thank you for hanging on to my stuff and moving the executive chair around for the night. Also, you hyped my matches up. I've got an explanation for character decisions that I'll be making on SRK. Read it to figure out why I chose Pyrrha and a no-Hulk team one time in the brackets. Midnight - You saved seats like a boss (I hate the phrase "like a boss," but you truly deserved it). I know there was that one time you gave it up to Papstr, but that was fine. Hope you get into SC5 soon. Papstr - Seriously? You're the world's worst seat-saver. I got up for one minute and you let a dude literally take the seat away from the area. You're dead to me. Klein - "Yeah, I'm only 18." *Strokes beard* Thanks to all of you guys for sticking in there with me. I'm sorry I didn't do better, but Milln knows about brackets. It's common to have bad bracket luck and place lower than people that you are better than.
  22. Welcome to every fighting game ever made. 3D games are MUCH slower than 2D, so it's less rock/paper/scissors-esque. In fact, you have more options than rock/paper/scissors since you can crouch highs, sidestep verticals, option-select throw breaks from ANYTHING, and jump or tech jump (which beats lows and throws). It's okay to not like the game, but saying there's too many R/P/S moments is fallacious.
