One of the problems with EDF IA is that they had to dial down a bunch of the effects in order to make the game playable online. In EDF 2017, the explosions were gigantic, corpses lasted for way too long (so that you could punt them around with your guns), and there were generally way too many particles around at once. The real problem for me is that the sound effects in EDF IA seems really weak. I do remember the later guns in EDF series always sounding cooler than the earlier ones, but these early ones just sound TOO WEAK. Like the shotguns are just a poof sound, and the rocket launchers feel like they are the tiny explosives of the cluster bombs in EDF 2017. OTOH the first time you shoot down a flier and its flaming corpse swoops down at you, you will be going EDF! EDF! as usual

So it turns out that the lousy party member is actually one of the best choices for the final boss once he gets some levels, because he gets a spell that dispels all status effects on all party members. Of course, that didn't help when one time the boss put my entire party to sleep, then dicked around for 10 turns draining mana and trying to turn them into stone, until it eventually did turn them all to stone and I game over'd. Now to get all the sidequests.

So the last boss of Radiant Historia is a slow, downward spiral for my party. I look up an FAQ, and the guy says he hit the final boss with his party members at level 52, and using one of the weaker party members, was able to do it. My main character is level 49. My other dudes range from level 40 to level 48. dammit

awesome quote regarding this anime called C that I've watched like 1 episode of: So Japanese economics professors in Tokyo U said, "We're obligated to teach Keynesian and REAL economics, but some students have this crazy idea that Keynes was right. We need to teach them that they're wrong, but lecture just isn't cutting it. We need a new medium for teaching. I know, anime!" And so they got a producer to make an anime where Keynes (Mikuni) tries to save Japan by ruining its future, and the real economists (Yoga) stop him. They even throw in an extreme example of hyperinflation. But ultimately, the real economists beat Keynes and he's never heard from again.

It's an ionized air flow device, right? So one of the cheeses I was new to me (in spite of being famous!) is called Mimolette. It is a French cheddar. The thing about it that was immediately interesting is that the crust around this orb-shaped cheese is pitted and earthy-looking; it looks WEATHERED. So searching up google, it is a cheese where part of the process involves introducing mites to it, and having them eat at in and introduce their digestive enzymes (and excrement, that brown/grey dust on it is mite dander + dead mites) to it accounts for its flavour. Mimolette, however, is not the only cheese to use cheese mites. Another one is a German one, and the town where it originates from contains various monuments to the cheese and its makers, including the only monument of a mite I have ever seen: something something Las Plagas

ok this is so great This is like the easiest to appreciate nice cheese ever, Beemster XO. Other extra-aged goudas might also work, Beemster XO is just good. You can probably get some from Granville Island or certainly from les amis du fromage (across from the Lambo dealership that's behind the brewery, lol). Cut yourself a bit of it. Make sure you don't eat the stuff 1/4 inch in from the rind, because it is hard and tasteless. In one hand have fresh, crunchy apple. In the other hand, have Beemster XO. Take a nip of the cheese. Chew on it and taste the saltiness, the crunch of the grains of amino acid and calcium lactate that have precipitated out of it. Let it melt in your mouth a bit so you can taste the butteryness. Once you start to detect what seems to be notes of toastyness in the flavour, take a bite of apple. It is like the most wonderful caramel apple, except without any caramel or butterscotch. SO GOOD

So I may have just put my foot into something way too big at work, and gotten myself into a position where I can work on something really significant to the project and graphics related. But right now it's being described as "high risk". So right away part of me inside was going "heavy risk... but the priiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiize" 3 or fewer of you will get that reference.
