  1. If Hsien-Ko has yellow armor and gets slowed down by Joe, when you call Hsien-Ko assist, does she have like a billion hitting frames?
  2. truthful videogame box for Syndicate, one of the most sinister/cool games ever
  3. You should use the FKO music for when Shepard punches somebody... like the reporter.
  4. Hey SoVA, I'm going to be in Fairfax for a few months starting the end of May. Where do you guys usually hang out, and how many of you are around?

  7. Headlines in cnnsi.com's NBA section: "LOWE: Styles of Spurs, Magic exposed in first round TRUTH & RUMORS: Duncan decline being exposed" Are the headlines being written by stream monsters now
  8. It's an internship. Not strictly required, but industry work is always good.
  9. I'm going to be in the southeast this Summer; Virginia, actually. I'm going to be in a town that has a smaller population than the either of the two universities I've been in (<30k), but has a median income of about $85k (evidently, a ton of lawyers live here and take it as a suburb of DC). Also, the asian population is like 14.3%, which is nearly triple that of Philadelphia's (5.5%), but since the place has literally 1/60 of philly's population, the number of asian people in philly alone outnumbers the number of ppl in Fairfax about 3.5:1. UPenn is also located on what seems to be a "thin asian line" (replace "asian" with a color for obligatory casually racist humor) in philly, so the proportions here are kind of jacked. Obviously this means that I'm going to get caught up in small-town intrigues while working on MMOs; it will be a fascinating study in the themes of being a stranger in a crowd: on one hand, the place is utterly un-metropolitan compared to the places I have been used to living in, with cultural divides that will drive me into isolation. At the same time, my daily work will be involved in systems where there are a few hundred thousand people actively socializing and playing. The town is not a terribly high-tech one compared to tech villages like the universities or Vancouver, but it does contain many educated people due to its proximity to DC. This schizophrenic life will be described in the upcoming magic realist novel, "40k Years of Solitude".
  10. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m9uR3YLK0kA Is it as good as the 3S rap? No. Does it have an awesome music video? Yes.
  11. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kZc0mwTbgwI ArmA2 looks way too fun
  12. So Syria is exploding right now. What's going on in the middle east? It's like non-stop revolution there or something. And it's no Prague Spring ended by tanks, either. By the end of this calendar year, who knows what the middle east is going to look like. It's crazy times!
  13. So there was that not-terribly-good Wolverine anime, which I thought had one very funny/clever point: Wolverine was not short compared to the other characters. Either this was an incredibly astute insight by the design crew (doubtful considering how dull the action in it was), or simply playing on the fact that probably nobody in Japan knows nor cares about Wolverine. In the XMEN anime, Wolverine is HUGE. He's always been a muscular guy, but now he's got huge arms and is really tall (I think he's taller than everybody except Beast now!). Cyclops is all prettied up. That his grieving over Jean has thus turned him into the role of emo pretty boy is hilarious. Beast's face.... is that how he looks in the comics now? I can't say I like it.
  14. I want a compilation of successful runaways from Phoenix set to Bruce Springsteen's "Born to Run" IT'S A DEATH TRAP, A SUICIDE RAP
  15. Have you got that posted on SRK That should so totally be posted on SRK
  16. But the tier list says Cyber Sub Zero suxxxxxxx I wonder if more of the normals in the game will be actually different. Also will crossups be possible?
  17. How does that work? Just a lot of sj. backwards, or is there gamma charging involved?
  18. MIKE'S APARTMENT: the place with the hottest action in Vancity when will there be webcam action
  19. Dear Clarence, In a critical matter of anthropology, I have been referred to this seminal work on the peoples of Upper Canada (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=liuj1WjgqCo). As primary source accounts are vital to the validity of any such study, I ask you this: is that truly how they rock in the t-dot?
  20. So a bunch of parties are happening at the various big name universities here in the USA. Most of them are headlined by rap artists: one of them has Snoop Dogg, we have Lupe Fiasco, one has P Diddy, and Princeton has Wiz Khalifa. Sadly, Princeton's colors are black and orange.
  21. The thing I greatly disliked about the first Crysis is that you really weren't that durable, such that two guys with guns shooting at you can deal tons of dmg before you know it. So that lent itself to sneaking around all the time, with the foliage and the cloak. In Crysis 2 you are a lot more durable, but it's strangely difficult to hit moving targets in the game. I don't know why that is; it's a very odd feeling.
  22. The entire game is about cloaking and picking people off... kind of like the first Crysis, though somewhat less so. Bulletstorm is way more fun, but then again it's made by People Can Fly, who have some history of making games that are actually fun. Mike moving up the chain, cashing in those job points to upgrade class
  23. But what will Alexey be without his rage? He will be powerless if he's all mellowed out.
  24. If Layton went into debates with a big top hat complete with matching coat, and discovered the truth behind his opponent's lies by solving matchstick puzzles and pointing his finger, maybe he'd be more popular.
  25. Clarence didn't go into the part about the Master Theorem where blonde-haired, blue-eyed algorithms perform better than others. End of latest Ippo chapter: "Forecast for the first round: BLOOD" Haven't had such a hype forecast since Clubber Lang. I have to wonder: a lot of buildings are built to withstand earthquake magnitude X, but I wonder how they take into account the effect of being hit with a succession of earthquakes given that one of the earthquakes in the succession is powerful enough to significantly compromise the structure. From historical and empirical data, it's evident than any really big earthquake will be followed with aftershock/successor quakes. While this might not be such a big deal for residential buildings (since everybody is going to GTFO), for buildings that need to stay standing for whatever reason (e.g. nuclear power reactors), I wonder how the planning for this could work.
