I might just watch and play casuals. I want to save all my money until I can get good with a stick. 10 dollars can be like 20 games of learning stick, instead of 1 game and losing first round in a tourney :D. But we'll see. I'll cheer you guys on :D Edit: I just noticed that this sunday's tourney is a 3v3. Interesting interesting. And since it's held on a PS3 console, do PS3's take USB's? Do 360 controllers work?! D:

I have been living here in Woodland Hills all my life, I just happened to decide I want in on the offline scene right now. Since now I can drive myself around and actually go where I want. What time sunday should I go down there? I have classes from like 7-3 that day.

I can go really at any time. Right now I'm trying to get a hold of a stick because I currently only play on pad. But I don't mind going there to try and learn stick, though it'd be expensive.

Hey guys! I was hoping to be able to go to some arcades around my area and so I knew this was the place to go to. I live in LA. Well... Woodland Hills. Anyways, I was wondering where a good place to play GG and BB would be at. I've also never really gone to these arcades, so I don't know anything about arcade etiquette and whatnot. So if anyone could give me a friendly place where I can start learning to play offline on a stick, it would be nice.

You could attempt to just hit 5D release at 4 and combo combo combo. Or 5D, hold D, A fakeout, release D during fakeout, combo combo combo. Normally I wouldn't go for the 3AA combo, honestly. You can actually 2AAA > 5C for an immediate air combo for slightly less damage. Though doing this consistently will eventually force you to learn corner 6C looping and/or comboing. However 2AA > 5C works wonders. Don't need to hold down anything. Will immediately combo. :D 3AA > 5C will also work if you do 2 reps if you used a CH C bug buffered from a shield to start your 3AA combo.

I don't know what kind of Arakunes you have been fighting, but a cursed Tager is a dead Tager. If the Arakune isn't smart enough to lock you down with a D bug as quick as possible and THEN throw out the cloud, then you're silly.

You should find really good Arakunes and then fight them. Alot :D The 6A combo is nice and all, but it's weak and boring compared to dive combos + 6C loops. Learn them. Breath them. 5k damage from everything!! D=<

Matt gave some really good advice except there are a few things I'll have to disagree with. When it comes to defensive options Arakune can also just plain backdash, forward dash, and other run away techniques BESIDES 5A>6b. Even though I overuse 5A>6b it sometimes gets out of range. Another important thing is that Arakune is such a versitile character that you doesn't matter what range you're at, in my opinion. I myself actually hate fighting people from far away. I really like fighting in the person's face and it usually gets me results (and sometimes losses! :D) When it comes down to matchups the ones you really look out for are the NOT straightforward characters. Those being Arakune, Nu, Rachel, Taokaka (Kinda). And then there are those which you need to know NOT to approach at all (Tager, Hakumen) without deep understanding of how they counter your moves. Watching videos and then analyzing how the player pokes through the weaknesses is good, but just watching without any basis of what to look for is useless.

So like. For those of you who has youtubed alot, you've probably run into this guy on youtube by the name of AutonomousR who uploads a WHOLE lot of Carl videos for the Carl players. He's basically where all the Carl's learn things from. Well, anyways, I was talking to him and I mentioned how we Arakune's don't have that. So he said he MIGHT start doing it with Arakune, on a separate account... and only for CS. But hey, it's still awesome!

I'm posting this without reading alot of this because it's like 1 in the morning. I know that you can totally do this while the opponent is cursed: 6A > 2B > B Bug > Standard air combo. I believe there are other variations but you guys figure it out Dx

It would totally make sense if Carl's dad totally manipulated Terumi because he's like a puppeteer and all. And then everyone thinks that Carl's dad is all smiley face, when in reality he's actually super EVIL ANGRY FACE!! That would also make Carl a little bit more important to the story. Since everyone seems to play a major role except for Arakune, Carl, Litchi, Taokaka, and Bang. Now where do those others get their 15 minutes of fame...

Well if that is absolutely NOT working at ALL~ You can attempt a j.A> COMBOZ. You can get owned for it so be careful. And uh I guess 2B? But that would be super scary against Hakumen x.o. If you mess up, that is.
