  1. Don't forget that space will become an issue depending on how many different games are being run at once. I think Tad had some sort of chart drawn up for how much space per TV.
  2. Tony! Keep pressure up with blocked hits into exe beast (frc). Learn to Badlands loop. You'll get more damage. I know you're getting out of some sticky situations with grave digger, but if you take that on the road, you're gonna get burnt. Practice more FDing, IBing, and FD jumping to get out of pressure. You'll be better off for it in the long run. Also, there is a throw combo in the corner that gives you free phantom soul. Learn it. Also, work on planting nets or using reverse exe beast when he's down to keep the pressure on him. Not bad though. Oh, and stop jumping so much.
  3. Maybe if the tournament organizer and/or some assistants can have a number available so that people can call if they're going to be late/not show up at all. Maybe this way if you're late AND you don't call AND you don't have an excuse for not doing so or something there can be a penalty. This is probably way too much of an investment for most tournaments, but for something like Tad's Tenkai mobile have pagers like at a restaurant and assign one to each player so people can easily be notified if it's their turn. Of course this wouldn't be necessary at all as long as people can hear you when you call their name, but whatever. If money were no object it might be useful.
  4. Yeah, like I said, I still fall into slumps where I miss my FRCs all the time. It's just something that takes a lot of work. I've been playing Guilt Gear since #r and I still don't have it 100%. Main thing is don't get discouraged or think it's impossible for you. What videos are you looking for? I have a couple, and I wrote down all the throw>bl loop>p soul combos if that's what you wanted. I can say there have been a couple youtube accounts with plenty of videos that got deleted over the last year or so, so in all likelihood that's what happened.
  5. reverse exe can have +frames if used as an okizeme so that it hits at the end of the animation. probably goes without saying, but I said it anyway. also, lol at posting this right after SB. good games.
  6. I think you pretty much want to hit 6k or whatever attack you're using as soon as you see the dash come out. If you dash too far forward, the next TK BL will miss. However, if you dash far enough forward, but not too far, you won't have to dash either as much, or perhaps at all before the p soul at the end. All I can say about FRC timing is just try to find a visual signal on Testament's animation. I know I still screw it up in game, but that's because there is no sure-fire 100% way to get it every time other than timing. Just keep at it.
  7. 1st question: first of all, you can't TK the BL after 6k since 6k is not jc-able. So first BL in that combo, and the one after 5h are just regular BL. Now on to the real question. All I can tell you is dash as soon as possible, and then do 6k/5k/2s as soon as you dash. If you've successfully TKed your BL, you should have time. I know you're probably already trying to do this, but just keep practicing and you'll get it. There's no real trick to the timing other than what I've said. 2nd question: Again, can't offer much more help other than just turn on input display in training mode. If you're getting it in training but not in matches, make sure you're practicing it by itself, and after 6k, far S, 2h, 2d, whatever moves you would cancel into it. The timing will feel different because of buffering and stuff. Besides this, I just look at Testament if I'm screwing it up sometimes. I forget exactly when the FRC is on his animation, but I think it's like right when he bows his head down. 3rd question: I think most good players realize forward exe is the real broken move in Testament's arsenal, but for noobs, if they see a move you can repeat over and over again, it looks really simple and dumb to them and they think it's cheap. It is kind of ridiculous on light-weight characters and Pot though. And finally, of course it feels good to be back. It's guilty gear.
  8. If you're doing it the absolute best, you shouldn't see a shadow, but if you listen close, you can hear the jump. It isn't always such a big deal if you see a shadow, but some combos require that you do it without shadow. Just look at the damage like rapeurtugais said.
  9. Cool. I'll try to read better next time.
  10. Dude, I just read your blog, and was hoping to read about some crazy j1n antics. I won't get on your case about it, because I know you're as bummed about it as I am, but it sucks that you couldn't find him. Also, I've been reading pretty much every week, but I can't remember who Baim and Rod are.
  11. I think it applies to the original topic at any rate. Tapping FD hopefully means you're paying more attention and less likely to get thrown.
  12. This may be obvious, but I don't think that anybody's mentioned that holding FD lazily and not paying attention is like begging your opponent to break off pressure and throw you.
  13. There is no fail-safe way to do it. I've had it down pretty well for pretty much since the game came out, and even I will screw it up sometimes. That said, it's still not that hard. The thing that usually messes me up is when I'm doing it in a combo after a regular bl. Since the recovery time on that is longer, I'll do the input before I recover, and end up doing another regular bl, so the first piece of advice I can give you is to watch out for that. As for the basics of doing tk bl by itself, just keep doing like you're doing. Put on the input display in training mode, so you can see if you actually hit 7 or 7and 8, or if you just felt like you did, but really didn't. If you really did hit the right directions and you're still getting a regular bl, the only explanation is that you hit P too fast, so just wait a little longer before hitting the button. Another thing you could do is try inputting it as slowly as possible, and then try to go a little faster until you're doing it as fast as possible without doing a regular bl.
  14. I've kinda not been watching my videos or even been paying attention lately, but does anyone do close knockdown (like 2k, close s, 2d) into hitomi into BL crossup oki? If the tree isn't too far away, it hits them before they hit the ground, and you can BL loop or do 1hit combos. I've never thought of it before, so it's all really new and cool to me, but what are the pros and cons realistically/is this actually retarded?
  15. "don't let her transform" means exe beast (both ways), far S, and 6K.
  16. Shall I get a thread together for that then? I really think it will be helpful if done right, but it also feels kind of ambitious, especially since I've never organized something like this before.
  17. I think a lot of us are in the same boat as you. Very few people outside of Japan have regular matchup experience with everyone. Like I said though, we can always pull clips from match videos if need be, so keep your eye out for any videos you've seen that could be used in this manner.
  18. Hey guys. I was inspired by that goofy thread about why the Smash community is better than the GG community, and by bucklemyshoe's I-no tutorial videos, and I came up with an idea. What if we made videos for each matchup, and showed how to deal with each character's shenanigans with Testament? We could show the best ways to get out of various forms of pressure, any character specific combo stuff, what kind of mix-ups to watch out for, etc. This could be done by editing clips from match videos together, and/or by setting stuff up in training mode. I think a separate video for each character would be best. I'm not doing this by myself though, so if anyone's interested, let me know.
  19. No, he is, you just haven't realized that your non-Japanese Slayer idol is Mac lol.

  21. Apparently some dude ran over and stabbed a bunch of people in Akiba today. Stay safe.
  22. That's why you should always use memory unblockables.
  23. pretty cool. I think you can do it.
  24. Sounds like you did a lot better this time. Just find a good slayer to team up with and you'll be set.
  25. How did our boy do Tuesday?
