  1. Are Shepherdsville people going? I haven't added them to the guest list yet. Also, I'm pretty sure we're going to try as hard as we can and do teams. It seems like pretty much everyone is interested in doing so.
  2. Good games tonight, friends. Jack, that part where you jumped straight into that net and then all the bad stuff happened was really funny. So anyway, looks like we're all team Hazama in CS lol. Also, Ben, Friday night I definitely have plans. Hopefully I'll work something out for Saturn's day. Unless Nick is going to Ohayocon, I don't know what we can do in that case.
  3. I'll be a little late, but I'll be there (probably around 745ish).
  4. Well, GG's still there, so that's cool. Also unlimited match. However, HnK >>> Basara.
  5. lol "sub." you can screw around with any number of other characters, but there are so few people with actual legit subs. ELC, the right time for Greed Sever is never, and fireballs will be your friend when you use them right. Order Sol is fast, so chances are when you're recovering from throwing out your fireballs, he's already over them/under them/past them in some way, so be sure to be aware of what your opponent can do and play safer. A good way to use fireballs is to end block strings so that you know the fireball will make contact, and you don't have to worry about being punished for it. Never randomly throw out a charged stunedge for no reason. This move is best canceled into from a sweep. This way, when your opponent stands back up, they have to block 3 hits before they can do anything else, giving you time to go for high/low mixup and keeping the pressure on them. As for making a card game player play fighting games, you got me on that one. I mean, the way you present it is as if you need something you can beat your friend at. I don't think your friend particularly cares to have something you can beat him at. Also, if he doesn't play, chances are you can already beat him at GG (I hope.) If you want him to play, you have to be ready for the possibility of him being able to beat you. At any rate though, I have had little success getting any of my friends to play Guilty Gear unless they were already somewhat interested in fighting games at least. Eric, how many matches did you get? Did you get my match with Brent? I seem to remember you did, but not 100% sure.
  6. I think it still applies. Sure everything's faster and there are a ton more options at the disposal of you and your opponent, but if nothing else, the line of thought it puts forward is helpful. You still have to be aware of what your opponent can hit you with from where, what you can hit them with, and what beats their options. You also need to be able to program your opponent to react a certain way. You set up a block string or okizeme or other situation that looks like something you've done before, and then you break it off and go for something different. Mixups are all over GG. Have you ever seen somebody run up and then fd brake in Guilty Gear? That's footsies. You're trying to get them to throw out something prematurely so you can punish them. Maybe not every situation in these articles can be applied to Guilty Gear, but a lot of them can, even if you do have to stretch them a little. The answers to the situations also may vary, but I think it's a good read, if only to get you thinking about things more.
  7. Dude, I do want to hang with you again and get some games in, but I'm not sure I'll be available this weekend. When do you plan on coming into town? Mac Holland: My going to AL on Thursday depends largely on your attendance. Can you make it?
  8. Done yet? Ky mixup was amazing though.
  9. Glad I got to see you, Kyle. Sorry I couldn't make it to JackG's. Thanks to everyone who made it to this. New people, come back. Old people, good seeing you again.
  10. Then just say something.
  11. That's why I made both statements separately.
  12. Sorry, man. We'll catch you next time though.
  13. I don't blame you, and it's not like the price is ever going to go back up.
  14. I gotcha. It seems like a very reasonable price for what it is, but you would know better than I would.
  15. Keep practicing. It will eventually be better for you.
  16. fact: jobs HATE Guilty Gear.
  17. I'm not sure. coinop express seems to have it, but it's like 1000 bucks, so that's probably not what you're looking for. I really don't know how to look for arcade boards, so your guess is as good as mine. Or wait, seems to have the gd rom itself for $284. If you can do better than that, that's pretty awesome.
  18. Yo I call that free spot, Jesse. I may pass the savings along to someone else though if I'm feeling generous. Should I bring a TV or will we not have room for it?
  19. I hope you're looking as hard as you can. You having people Friday or anything? I'm not promising, but maybe I'll try to get a few games with you if I can work it into my schedule.
  20. Yo, Eric. Jesse says that the Apex TV he has has AV out. Recording stuff will be fun.
  21. I think they said they were going to try again next month sometime. Also, thank you guys for this. I had a good time, but it made me jealous that I wasn't playing GG. Also, thanks so much for playing HnK. That game is the best. Edit: more character representation for HnK next time though. Kenshiro, Shin, Souther, and Jagi need some love. Souther's banishing strike 2C2C2C... combo is too good. Also spear loops.
  22. 4 months away HYPE! Edit: Nathan posted up shirt designs for PowerUp on SRK, but I guess DL's not cool enough.
  23. Get your shopping taken care of beforehand. That way you'll have more time for GG partying. There is a mall not too far away though. Also, there are some northern Kentucky Tekken players on SRK that you might be able to hit up for a ride. Fred: it's 10$ to get in and enter as many ranbats as you want. I'll probably take part in everything. Eric: I most likely won't be there on Thursday, but I'll ask Jesse what's up on AV out. Maybe we can find a vcr or dvd player and run it through if it's got two av outs? Excited that Nick might show up. At least sounds like he's interested in still playing. Circuitous: Be there.
