I played Guilty Grrr today. Was fun. Also, those of you that don't know, Arcade Legends got a Slash GD rom in, which I think is neat.

I'll miss thee, Kenji, but GG's the only game I care about, and I haven't really been able to play it all summer, and I've always sucked at it anyway, so I'm not expecting to be much of a challenge for anyone. Sorry also to Chase, my not being there will cut HnK attendance by 50%.

-there is no need for introduction threads. just post up in match finder for your area. If there is no thread for your area, make one and ask if there's anybody 'round there. -go to tournaments. again, use match finder. talk to people on aim or something if you really want to, or pm them if you want to talk to them about something -plenty of other places you can do that. if you don't know us irl, then you probably don't know our taste in movies and can't trust our recommendations. also, has nothing to do with gg. if you want to know what other fighting gamers think of one movie or another, there's always srk. -srsly, there is no salvation from off-topic posts. it's just gonna happen. srk will let you make a thread for anything, and they're off-topic just as much as we are here. also, physics and college are important. stay in school. -life in this forum means nothing if it's not about our games. if traffic increases, but the same amount of people are playing gg, then there's really no real-world impact. but here's a funny experiment we could try. why not just make general dustloop threads on srk? "dustloop members movie discussion" or "dustloop members introduction thread." would be hilarious. (i think.)

I got a friend that's leaving town next week, so I'm trying to hang with him this weekend. This means I won't be available for GGz, but if you need my help setting something up, let me know. This is killing me though, all of my evenings and weekends keep getting eaten up and I can't play the guilty gears.

I only understand that you don't really understand what goes on on srk. Dayton thread is just a more active local thread like this. We talk about random stuff sometimes, and sometimes we talk about getting together and playing games. Sure most of the forums are centered around sf, and most of the people there are coming from an sf background, but that doesn't mean they're all sf4 and 3s heads. Actually the Cincinnati thread is mostly Tekken players. Also, all of the people on srk dayton that want to learn Guilty Gear don't see the point in joining dustloop when they're already a part of a fighting game forum. My experience is that srk members see srk more as a universal fighting game forum than simply sf4 or 3rd strike or ST or what have you. So... when I'm on srk, I basically ignore everything except the tournament threads and the local threads. I don't bother with trying to get on a general FG discussion and say how good GG is and how stupid they are for not playing it. I mean, Jason and I both main GG, but we post a lot more on srk just because it's more active. And remember, Ohio is MIDWEST.

srk dayton is hungry for some GG, nick. go teach them. we can't really blame ben for not going anywhere to play games, as nobody's really been gathering most of the summer. hopefully we show him there's still interest in the game and that will convince him to get back into it.

So basically, I derailed another thread asking if people knew of or could make or had made any character tutorial videos. Then a couple people started posting links to their videos, etc. The reason I see a need for this topic this late in AC's life, is that a lot of people in my area are talking about picking up GG, and I figure some people in other areas might move on from BlazBlue to this. I don't have the time or the know-how to tell all of these new players about all of the options available to them, so I thought if I could get a lot of info together in one thread, that might be good. So here's the deal. If you have or know of any good tutorial vids, post 'em up, and I'll edit this first post. If you have the equipment and the knowledge, and you see that your character (or just a character that you know the basics of) doesn't have an adequate video, please feel free to make one. General: - beginner tutorial by Climhazzardous (incomplete and not 100% accurate as of now.) - 2nd part of Climhazzardous's thingy. - a general guide by Kasou which basically lays out how the game is played, and a few things that might not occur to beginners. Johnny: -10stars's account on youtube has lots of great stuff. Take your pick. Ky: -MadTeaParty Ky tutorial. Seems to focus a lot on his FRCs and what they're for. Order-Sol: -LM_akira's Order-Sol guide Robo-Ky: -some advanced combos on all characters. Sol: - basic stuff like easy combos to knockdown, gunflame pressure/mixup, and sidewinder loops. Testament: -Testament beginner tutorial by MDK. Mostly just BnB combos. Two parter. Second part here. -not a beginner tutorial per se, just shows throw combos into curse on all characters. Zappa: -Japanese, but it's pretty easy to follow: summonless, dog, ghost, sword, raoh.

Sorry, Chase. I don't know where is good crash space. Does Jack G say no? Also, you should have told me you were playing HnK again. If Luke (yetighettoslang) comes out, he'll play hnk for sure, and he plays Raoh, but I don't know if he'll be there for BB (I know he doesn't play GG.) Anyway, I'm going to try hard to be there tomorrow and drop some combos. I haven't played any of those games in a while, really. Eric, if AA is actually interesting (didn't find AC to be,) I will play it.
