Hate to tell you this but Headcanon rarely ever goes the way people want it to, especially in GG. Accent Core already hinted at Dizzy's true past, though to what extent that will be retained is anyone's guess. Even I can't exactly predict where things are going to go.

What are Bedman's gatling routes like? Can he do anything off 2K?
-
Hopefully it's only for Loketest reactions, otherwise that's awful. I hope more Bedman players voice their thoughts on this to ARCSys. He needs those mixups, otherwise he's like a gimped Axl Low or something.

So 6H crossup move is gone. Too scary for most players? Are we now limited to Task A' for Crossups now?

Character Recolors, PSDs, and Renderings [*New* BBCF Available]
Blade replied to Tong's topic in Zepp Museum
Hey Tong. Been a long time, friend. Got another request for you: Susano'o in Hakumen's BBCF #6 Color! -
Well, they SAID they'd discuss it in Staff Meetings with the right people, so I'm holding them to that, at the very least. Adding extra polish to the game is their job, and is vital to the sales they'll ultimately get, so unless Japanese is your native tongue and you could care less, they can't really afford NOT to listen to requests for a Dub. Footing the bill for it though, is another matter entirely. Voice actors can be expensive.

Is it normal to not remember / grasp all these mechanics right away?
Blade replied to AlienJay's topic in Beginner Mode
I think the problem is mostly with games like BlazBlue that drastically change their mechanics... it's hard to adjust to the jump. I had to ask a ton of questions about Central Fiction when it first hit. So yeah, it's not something you master in a day. No need to rush. And honestly, don't even worry about the "scene" dying on you... you can always get friends to play you and teach you stuff. -
It's optimistic to look at it that way, but keep in mind that money to pay the VAs has to come from somewhere, whether that's Xrd Revelator DLC, or Steam titles, it is going to cost them. And the timing for recording it would have to be post release if it is that close to release day.
-
The FFXIII Lightning Returns JP Audio Dub DLC was welcomed well enough by Final Fantasy fans, I don't think it'll matter, as the ones who want it will be the ones who pay for it, and be happy to do so. And considering the recent trend of 'free DLC the first week' they've been using, I don't think it's a bad deal.

I'm told people like my mixups, even in a vs Millia or vs Venom mu, so I think Assassin players have to really concentrate and be on their game to beat the bed. For me Faust and Ky are the worst, as they can really control space in the fight, and Ky's random GS or VTs make him more annoying than Sol. At least with Sol you can bait his VVs properly, and teleport parry his rushdown.

Bedman Q&A/FAQ thread: People play this guy I swear!
Blade replied to Poultrygeist's topic in Bedman
Do you guys think Bedman will ever get a Mid-air Deja Vu option? -
What this tells me is that it's also a Budget thing (Arcade is their biggest revenue by the way), but at least ARCSys got the message. I knew this was going to be an issue the longer the GG and BB series dragged on, as they've been hurting for sales numbers ever since GG2 flopped on XBox360 (it got a better response on Steam, but that may not help much). BBCT was touted as the game we 'had to play' in place of GG for the time being, and that basically split the GG fanbase in half. But it's thanks to Calamity Trigger that GGXrd Sign and Revelator even exist. Budget issues are Budget issues and there is no getting around them. I think Post-Release DLC patches are going to be the norm from now on, same with Revelator DLC coming this fall.
-
That's counterproductive to sales numbers, which basically define everything in this kind of business. Instead of thinking in terms of "maybe if I don't buy this they'll get a clue", it's better to say "maybe if I actually speak up and say something, they'll do something". As for myself, since I personally hate translating ANYTHING, I prefer a dub at least as reference (and this is the guy who wrote the GG Quote Project years ago btw). Voice acting will always be hit and miss, even if they bothered to give Potemkin a vocoder filter. But to me it's that "extra polish" that makes all the difference. Whether it's adding extra things like voice acting, or spell-checking winquotes to get all the typos out (yes that's an issue in SIGN, heck BBCF's JP website says "Charater" by mistake)... just all those extra pushes make the game that much better. I think ever since ARCSys put Aksys on the sidelines for Localization work, there's been a dip in quality. I know Aksys co-oping with ARC is pricey, but Aksys wants a good game release too, to produce good sales numbers and make up for those costs, which it seems ARCSys is too wary about right now. I've been putting up with and investing in untranslated GGX-quality games for years, I think I deserve something with a dub, whether it's BB or GG. That's why I think it's all the more important that people bombard ARC's U.S. and JP webpages.

There's lots of stuff I want to say about the story, but I think regardless of what I say, people will come to their own conclusions/opinions about it. What people need to "get" about Ariels is that she/it was something intended to research an altruistic future for mankind, but got hung up/confused along the way. When she talks to Sol about his life experiences, she gets hung up on his "tragic past", but he quickly brushes that aside for an optimistic future, which is also what Axl Low does too. A good future isn't necessarily something you think deeply about, it's something you MAKE.
-
Well, since people seem to be worried, I'll just say this: Testing the market for feedback on something like Voice Acting seems feasible at this point, so if they get that big a backlash, they'll try and do something about it. I'm not worried about GGXrd's future installments because the series is far from over anyway. BlazBlue's another matter though, and it would be sad for them not to include a dub after being consistent for so long. And hey, it's not the end of the world... there is such a thing as adding a Dub post-release as a patch. Just keep bugging ARCSys and Strangely Compelling (the guys who run ARC's PR media here in the U.S.) and something just might happen!
-
Hmm, so Conclusion is arranged huh? I wonder if they edited out the 'footsteps' in the intro. Still, No Mercy and Re-Coming are ideal, and Fatal Duel is a bonus. Only concerns I now have are Dizzy's new and old themes (GGX Awe of She is superior to GGXX ver.) and Story DLC.

I ain't sayin' nothing till June 7th!
-
I find it especially poignant that Kotoko is doing the OP for this, since they did the Op for Calamity Trigger too.
-
I have my doubts we'll even get a dub this time around... that's the impression I get. It's already April and the game's supposed to be out in June, so I don't think there's enough time for anything unless they just didn't add it yet (but even then, I don't see why they would since Xrd: Sign's Demo had a dub to begin with). On top of that, English Demo subs are full of typos... this is not the quality you'd expect from ARCSys (with Aksys helping them... or they're supposed to, anyway). Worse comes to Worst, I hope maybe we can at least hope for a Steam Patch Dub or something in the distant future. This also has me worried about BlazBlue Central Fiction too...

I think based on the conversation with Raven that Sol had, he had no clue that Aria and Justice were even connected, he only knew the Valentines were linked to her somehow. Raven spilling the beans, kinda got him madder. The reason he was even remotely "gentle" with Justice is because he knew she was being used as a tool by the Conclave at the time of the Tournament (and was a victim of "That Man" prior to the Crusades, regardless of her origin).

Just to remind everybody: Jihi naku Keiji > Merciless Apocalypse > Universal Will (the thing that triggered the "Dawn of Revival" in 1999). It's all the same term, just localized as "Universal Will" in English. Also, to further elaborate on what Suzaku said about the whole Aria > Justice thing... At some point in GG's history (somewhere between 2040 - 2073) "That Man" worked with the U.S. government to mass produce Gears... it was at this point he came up with the blueprints for Justice (Justice was completed and activated in 2073-74). Those "blueprints" are known as the Gear Archetype. Sol came across the Gear Archetype at some point during his attempts to sabotage the U.S. government's Gear production and decided to build his version of the OutRage, later known as the 8 Sacred Treasures. Now, I don't know if the OutRage armor Justice was equipped with, and the OutRage Sol built are the same thing, probably not... but they both might be connected to the Saint Oratorio Project. It was said that Frederick (Sol) was supposed to work on the Saint Oratorio Project at one point, but decided to stay on board the Gear Project for Aria's sake.

I'm sold on James MacAllen too. Two Reasons: 1. He sounds "gruffer" than Forseth's demo. 2. MacAllen voiced characters IN videogames (not just commercials about them), so he's got the resume to support it. I think we have a winner! (I make no guarantees of him returning to Revelator though, depends on ARC's budget).
