  1. Some really interesting ideas from those videos. Theres also a really recent one against tager with some interesting combo variation. V-13 looks so tight!
  2. Yeah i'm sorry guys I am sincerely looking for help, but it just so happens that this is the guy I play the most frequently and was able to record with. I'll bring the equipment to our next tournament and get some better matches recorded hopefully. I really appreciate y'all checkin them out and I would really like some combo help if y'all got some. Typically I try for 2k, 2hs, GV. Is it better to go for 2k, 5s, 6p, gf frc, sidewinder stuff in corner? I guess I find myself with a lot of leftover tension because I don't really use gf frc in combos, but if that's the better option it's definitely what I will start going for. I've been trying to play more safe and zone a lot more with Sol, really want to make sure I'm doing that correctly, I guess one of my main concerns is does it look like I am fake gunflaming to much? It seems safe where I do it(atleast against that jam) but I dont know if it will work like that against better players. Again, thanks to yall for looking at em and giving advice where you could . faulty tell steve he's a scrub and I will beat him up plenty at FR.

  4. Could be worse, could be Taokaka >_<. I think her voice is pretty sweet actually, the robotic accents make it cool. Also, quick question for those who are able to playtest her or whatnot. In some of the revent vids it seems her B&B into 236+d(not sure, fireball that moves along the ground from behind them) into the 214+c(Long startup hsien-ko spike move) is a really strong oki option for her. Question is can they tech and get to v13 before she can release the spike move and hit her out or is this always a good guaranteed option after knockdown?

    Thanks Zaeris. I guess reason i dont do ice spike enders a lot is because it has to be FRC'ed to get the really good oki right? I will work on that for sure and closing the gaps in my pressure. Thanks a lot.

  8. I like using it to cut the recovery frames on sol's 5hs. Also to setup some weird false gaps up close after 2d or close slash. You can mix it up with the actual gunflame to get people to try and jump out of pressure and go for the air throw or whatever. Granted its not something really good or even something wiht lots of effective uses, but not too terrible to throw out in certain situations.

    Does iad 2s, hs, land, dash 5s, 6p, 421s(hold) not combo on like half the cast? Cant get it on like, axl, anji, slayer, sol, ky...
  13. If he does going my way from the air because he expects you to backdash, that is a really stupid idea on his part. The risk is WAY to high for faust to do that. If dizzy blockss going my way, she gets a free combo, oki setup. You gotta force faust to play at your pace. Use LOTS of TK bubble, backdash j.s pop then land to try and summon a fish from long range while avoiding the scalpel pull. laser fish will hit faust out of it even if he catches out and begins the pull back. Since faust has so many options to push you away and keep you at that mid range, I try to use all my best throw mix-ups to constantly keep him on the ground and waking up into dizzy's more solid oki. Also the only time i really move forward and try to poke at faust is right after the laser goes off and I have a air pike primed. This pretty much stops him from jumping, and lets you get close to start a little bit of pressure. Really got to take what you can get in this match, and try not to force anything because Faust can REALLY fuck dizzy up, both with damage and with stun.

    Usually I release the spear right after the second hit of 6hs to keep my IAD safe afterwards. But then it kind of loses it's steam because it turns into the basic mix-up from there without any items out. I suppose I could go for iad 2s bubble shenanigans afterwards tho.

  17. How badly does Sol's poke game get hurt in this matchup? It seems like sol's 2s gets beat by testy's f.s and 6k.

  19. Hey guys just a few quick questions with venom. I can do the CR loop in the corner off of a throw, but how many loops is optimal? It seems on some characters I can get two full loops, then 6hs to dubious curve, but on others like sol if I remember I can barely get anything after the first rep. Also, I have some decent ball formations after mid screen knockdown, but I guess I don't really have a solid mix-up in mind? I guess what i'm trying to say is, I have the formations good enough to get them to sit and block on oki, but am missing out on some strong mid-screen mix-up. Typically what I like to do is either combo into hs DC, then dash jump k into either low a.d mixup or empty jump low stuff. And just my two cents thrown in, but to me the hardest part about learning or playing venom isnt combos or ball formations, it's his actual poke game. IMO it's hella character specific which pokes you use and when with venom and that really fucks me up. Any help is appreciated.
  20. if im in normal mode and faust is on the pogo, if I feel the low flower coming, I like to TK keygrab depending on distance. Works pretty consistently. Also in moroha I find myself usinng 2d a shitload against faust, he's got to respect the range, and it' good on block and great on hit.
  21. It's something you'll have to test on your opponent honestly. I've gotten it to work on mid to high level guys, but it's mostly because they dont expect me to NOT finish the 3 piece the first time. Good to use at the end of around for a kill, or if you dont have tension or something. But the majority of the time, just go for the guaranteed ender.

  23. Josh I find it actually easier and more consistent to do the fuzzy guard in the corner if you dash jump? Not sure why, but it makes it easier to get the deeper j.s for me. I didn't know you could do it midscreen though, that is good shit.

    Josh i'm a little confused as what you mean by baiting bursts without risking danzai? To me canceling either hit of 2hs into danzai late enough defeats any burst. 2hs is really to good to be ignored with or without the FRC, without, it can create some good frame traps depending on the character you are going against, and with FRC leads to some of the scariest throw set-ups in GG. Bucklemyshoe it really depends on the situation your in. Obviously if you are in a punishment situation you wouldn't want to start with 2k or 5k due to proration. The "best" combo starter and probably the one you will use the most is 5s. This poke is really too good, and leads to all of her standard combos whether you watn to go with rekkas or 2hs IAD stuff. Me personally, I mostly use 2k or 5k to fill gaps or tick unblockables.
