  1. So what you're saying is, you spun your D-Pad so much, it spontaneously Genesic'd itself? Awesome. I believe the proper term for this would be "Geneside."
  2. That sounds hilarious. Was it one of the ones with the interchangable D-Pads? With how weird and twisty it is, I wouldn't put it past it. :P
  3. Shout-outs to everyone who made it to the Cookeville Fight Night tonight last night! Had a lot of fun getting wrecked by Josh in Marvel, almost Red Parrying an entire Akuma super against Andrew in Third Strike, trying to explain a bit of Noel to John, flailing playing stick against a 360 controller-wielding Bane in Third Strike, and hanging out/watching/chatting with everyone else. I'll try to get in some games with different people next time. Hopefully we'll have a couple more setups from now on. :P
  4. Good to hear from ya, g-ram! Hope you're enjoying Guilty Gear. It's tons of fun. I can't really provide much in the way of pointers, but I'd be happy to get in some friendlies whenever we get the chance. :3 Also, in regards to this Wednesday fight night thing... Fuck. Yes. $3 venue is fantastic, it's actually in Cookeville, and it's on a day I don't (normally) babysit. Count on me making it there every week I can. Which will most definitely be often. :D As for a setup, I can bring my 360 (or PS3, if deemed necessary), my recording equipment, and my laptop (for either recording or PC-only games like Akatsuki or Melty)- but I don't have a small enough TV to bring with me. Will they have TVs there for us? And what time will fight night usually start?
  5. Yeah, most likely. I know I'm not the only person in Cookeville who wants to make it to FR/PU, and I know who they'll be expecting to drive them. :P
  6. Aw, man. I forgot Powerup and Final Round are within a month of each other. I'm gonna have to start saving up big time.
  7. Happy birthday Star! That means you're one year closer to supernova'ing, and just two more years from legally consuming alcohol! :D
  8. Nah, that was a different converter. The Cronus works fantastically for Xbox 360 to PS3. The only thing is, I haven't tested it on PS3 to Xbox 360, because (from what I can tell) you need to acquire a Bluetooth adapter to connect the PS3 controller to the device. All my attempts to connect via the USB cable proved unsuccessful.
  9. It seems like a combination of the words "Fennec" and "Kindle." It's funny you should say that, since a new Eeveelution in Gen 6 has been all but confirmed.
  10. What, nobody's noticed my raging hard-ons whenever I get an Astral? How disappointing. Besides, I'm an adult, mang. I'm mature enough to talk about sex 'n stuff. On that note, I'm super fucking excited about the new generation of Pokemon. Like, just look at this thing: IT EVEN HAS MY COLOR SCHEME. Not even Ragna has my color scheme in CP. AND IT'S FUCKING ADORABLE. AAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHH
  11. On the topic of porn, I just happened to come across what Naimat's Dustloop handle means in Japanese today. Trolololo
  12. Hold your bladder, Astaroth. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JJX_grJKsrQ
  13. Does misspelling unknowledgeable make me ignorant? Or does not using ignorant in the first place make me unknowledgeable?
  14. Don't insult XBL scrub tier by putting Mr. Wizard on their level. You're totally right though, it's unbelievable that someone as immature and unknowledgable about fighting games like him can be in such high-ranking positions across fighting game mediums. I came across this log on the same site and it only further evidences the fact: http://pastebin.com/SuVrC7XC My favorite is Line 46.
  15. Abyss Mode Combo Video Sample with Ragna. Involves Devoured by Darkness -> Rapid Cancel -> Black Onslaught. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J1HymNa_Kw0
  16. It occurred to me today that I haven't uploaded anything BB gameplay related to my channel for 8 months. So here, have a Ragna Abyss Mode combo that involves DbD -> Rapid Cancel -> Black Onslaught. Oh yeah, and Mr. Wizard is a salty douchebag with the brain of a five-year-old.
  17. That totally never occurred to me. Also, that's a pretty insane number of varying specials, haha. Just out of curiosity, if the differences are grounded/air and starter/follow-up, what's the last one that makes five? And do you think the same principle regarding ground/air specials might apply to ground/air Distortions, too? (I.E. Baden Baden Lily/Tempest Dahlia/Daisharin[?]) I'm sure it's not solely his decision, but doesn't Mr. Wizard play a huge part in deciding which games are played at EVO? And also hate Persona with an undying, completed unfounded passion?
  18. Good to hear! I'm looking forward to seeing you tear it up in SC/Mahvel/everything else. :D Aw, kurapu indeed. You'll just have to make up for lost time at February's MTN, right? :3 @SMP discussion: This may seem like something that's obvious to some of you, but it didn't occur to me until I watched the beginning of a video on pktazn's channel here. I was watching the Makoto play around with an Overdrive combo between matches, and noticed her do two Corona Uppers in the same combo. At first I thought "huh, that's weird. I must have missed the Same Move Proration message/blue flash." But after I backed it up and watched it again, I noticed what it was. She had comboed the ground version of her DP into the air version. That probably means that most (if not all) moves that have both grounded and air versions (like Inferno Divider, Gauntlet Hades, Air Persia[?], Litchi's staffless specials, etc.) don't prompt SMP when both are used in the same combo. Just thought it might be something worth bringing up.
  19. I hope you'll do it whether you go or not~. :3 Fix'd Wait, you mean it's not already on? I was like "dang, this screen protector's awesome. I can't even tell it's there!" At least now I know why. XD
  20. Gawd, too many things I want to post about at once. Yeah, that's kind of what I was thinking. It's a confusing subject, so I can understand why the Japanese might be confused about it, too. And I just wish we had the game, period. I want to figure this SMP thing out, but I want to play the effin' game even moar. ;_; If anything regarding successful gimmicky bullshit leaves my mouth, it's most definitely praise. :3 Congrats! I wish I could go, but gawd damn. There are way too many tournaments for me to afford on a babysitting budget. I've made it my goal to go to both Final Round and Powerup this year, and Kumite is a given since it's replacing MTN this month. I'm pretty sure you guys will have to rep TN at Winter Brawl on your own, but I'll be with you guys in spirit, giving you the urge to do all sorts of impractical shit in the hopes certainty that it'll work! As for EVO, if Blazblue or Persona isn't being played, I honestly won't give a shit about it. There aren't any other games I'd be willing to subject myself to something Mr. Wizard-related for. One more thing, though. There's a student in Chattanooga hosting a P4A tournament on February 2nd. Entry is $5, and those earnings will go towards Child's Play. I'm doubtful that I'll be able to swing both Kumite AND this tournament, especially since they're adjacent weekends. But if you guys can go, you should consider it. Thread's located here. And hopefully we'll see a post or two from the new MTN'r soon. :]
  21. Hey! You should definitely post in the "Middle Tennessee Needs Gaming!" Thread some time, dood. We've got a rather large FGC here, and a good majority of us play Persona. :D
  22. The difference is, Bullet's safe jump makes the reversals whiff. That means no Rapid Canceling to make it safe. And I think it's a DP in the same sense as Kanji's D command grab. It has invulnerability on startup, then after that, she grabs the opponent if they're in range. I'm not sure if it's blockable or not, though. If it is, it would definitely be risky to throw it out after a jC like that. If not, I'd hope that the jC connecting (be it on block or hit) would cause the throw to be techable. But this is Bullet we're talking about, so the move may work like Noel's command grab mid-combo. I have no idea.
  23. He won the first set, so he can't be THAT free. :P Also, guys, I'm scared. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RtHKDsqUzqQ SAFE JUMP INFERNO DIVIDER PUNISHING? WHAT IS THIS BULLSHIT. Oh well, maybe it doesn't work against wake up Carnage Scissor or something. :3
  24. No joke, I'm always impressed with Papstr's gimmicky bullshit in Guilty Gear. I'm gonna have to step up my game to win Chandler status in that game over him. :[ Good find, that just about confirms things for me. I sincerely doubt it. The Bullet player had no reason not to be holding tech, especially when it meant losing the round otherwise. He also had plenty of time to start holding/mashing because of the second Jayoku's Super Flash, so I'd find it hard to believe he couldn't react to it by pressing a single button (assuming the tech window might be arbitrarily tight). We've established that the reason the combo counter stays red after SMP is because any combo after it factors in proration/techable time as normal. The only thing we've ever had left to question is if combos that invoke SMP are techable the moment it's triggered- and if I might say so, I think the video Naimat provided is crucial evidence that it isn't. That Bullet player had a million years to tech in the air and save himself, and he had to know the next hit from whatever the Hazama chose would kill him. If he could have teched, I don't see any logical reason why he wouldn't have.
