Yeah, it's that exact image. I'm sure the setup might be dumb, but seriously, how many 14K combos have we seen in any BB rendition, in any sort of combo video? And Mu just came out two days ago- TWO DAYS- and people are already finding stuff like this. I can only assume that number will only increase from here on out. I'm hopeful that it's impractical, and/or there'll be some sort of balance patch before a console release if it's that serious of a problem, though.

That sounds more like a nightmare to me. Not the getting Astral'd part though. Getting Astral'd out of a 70% combo by a new Ragna Astral sounds hype as fuck. The part about it being a double half circle is what's scary. I could never pull that off consistently. D: But yeah, I like the new Astral theme too~. If you have a "Burst icon" (which works like Guilty Gear Bursts in the sense that it regenerates after a certain amount of time), you can activate Overdrive at the cost of 75% of it. The less health you have, the longer it lasts.

Bahahaha. Incoming Astral rant. Actually, one of the biggest reasons I can't wait to try out Azrael is because it looks super easy for him to combo into his Astral mid-screen. It seems like Bullet can combo into an Astral off a floated... whatever move of hers looks like Bang's 5C, at least in the corner. Amane can combo his (probably from mid-screen, too), but through an interesting glitch it can essentially make both players play in the dark. You better believe I'm gonna try to pull that off if they don't fix it by console release. :3 If floated 5D -> Astral still works with Ragna, it'll still be fairly easy to combo it mid-screen with with Gauntlet Hades -> Dash 5D, but it'll be harder to do it from a low because of how you can't dash cancel 6C any more. It's all remedied by the fact he can 22C -> Astral in the corner now though. >:D Noel can't combo hers any more because it's a counter now. Mu's Astral has changed, but only in animation- i.e., I can't see any new combos coming out of it. I'd imagine Arakune's probably the same, though I couldn't find any videos to see how the attack that goes into it functions. Carl's, however, looks much easier to combo into, thank god. Other than that, it's probably still possible to practically combo into Relius's, Hazama's, Tsubaki's, Makoto's, and Tager's, albeit more difficult/situational. But for everyone else, they just seem far too impractical to combo in a real match, or they're impossible to begin with. I don't really see it that way. I see it as a way of giving those who place well the proper incentive to go have fun at big-name tournaments and rep MTN in the process. And for those who don't place, it'd probably be a much better feeling knowing that their money went towards helping people make it to a major, instead of god-knows-what. That's true. More people = cheaper hotel and gas costs. I don't think anyone was implying with all this sponsor/suggestions discussion that only one person should go to tournaments- that's just silly. It's always better if communities can go as a group. :] I'm not sure how much I could donate towards a donation drive (babysitting income lol) but I'd try my best to throw in some money when someone really wants to go to a tourney and can't afford it. I agree with Naimat, big tournaments are a fantastic experience. Don't skip out if you don't have to, guys. In trying to edit the URL to see if I could find any hidden pages, I noticed something potentially interesting. Trying to put Izayoi in after the "chara_" part of the URL leads to a blank page- NOT the "The requested URL could not be found" message you get when trying other things: http://blazblue.jp/cp/chara_izayoi.html . So if the URL for a last character is already taken, we should (hypothetically) be able to find out who/what it is by plugging things in and searching for that other blank page. I've already tried jubei, kokonoe, nine, 9, and every butchered form of celica I could think of.

Has anyone tried searching for any icons relating to Gigant: Take-Mikazuchi, Tsubaki's old weapon/outfit, the Spectacles of Eros, Phase Shift characters, or sexy pantsu? Just throwing some ideas out there.

That would be really cool, but considering how some of us can't even afford to compete in tournaments sometimes as it is, I'm not sure it's in the cards for us. :P But on that note, I think it might be cool to have at least one tournament where instead of the winnings going into the top player(s) pockets, it goes into "sponsoring" them to go to a major(s). Uri, I think you should take this opportunity to contact other sponsors and see if you can interest them in sponsoring you. Just present it in a way that lets them know another sponsor is interested in promoting you, but that you wanted to see what other sponsors are offering before you make a final decision. Take this chance to make sponsors compete for you! ;3

Yeah, conceptually, it's a pretty crazy mechanic. Being able to escape/back away from your opponent just because you made them block something, especially for a character emphasized on zoning... I mean, I can see why they took it away in CS, haha. And on an unrelated note, some of the reference colors in CP are amazing. Bang has a Goku palette, Azrael has a Kamina palette, Tager has a Brahms (Valkyrie Profile) palette, Noel/Platinum have a Mami/Madoka (Puella Magi) palette, Bullet/Arakune have a Kusanagi/Tachikoma (Ghost in the Shell) palette, and Carl has a Lieselotte (Arcana Heart) palette (with Nirvana as Elfride). But what does Ragna get? Ragna gets Ichigo Kurosaki colors. This might have excited me four years ago. >:/

You know, I've been wondering which move you were referring to, so I finally decided to look it up. And wow, I didn't even know that existed. I just thought some of her moves were "backdash cancelable" now and never questioned the difference between Act Parser forward and Lambda's 236A. You're right, that's a game changer.

I'm pretty sure she could have just used jA/jB/jC and she would have hit him out of it. The invincibility on Tager's air 360 can't be that good. I think she only got caught by it because she wasn't expecting it/mashing.

Well, fuck. I knew Aksys and Arc System were two different entities, but what I didn't know was that Aksys wasn't involved in the localization. I mean, even Accent Core/AC+ for the PS2 involved Aksys when bringing the game stateside. I don't think my assumption was too much of a stretch- and even if it was, how much trouble would it have been for them to reply with a "yeah, we don't mess with that shit"? :/ The only reason I contacted Aksys customer support instead of Arc System Works in the first place was because I couldn't find any information on if the latter has English-speaking customer support. I'm sure Japan is where all the programmers are anyway, so I was hoping if I brought the issue up to Aksys, that they'd be able to forward the message to where it needed to go on that end, and in the language it needs to be. I know quite a bit would be lost in translation if I used a web-based translator, and I'm worried Arc would just ignore my e-mail if I sent one completely in English. But I guess I'll just have to try both, haha. Thanks for bringing that up.

Lol yeah. When I refreshed our thread using this url after the outage, it took me to a completely different thread altogether. I think it may be because some messages were lost after the outage. Speaking of which... When playing GG with a first party 360 controller's analog stick, diagonals will spontaneously (and often) decide not to register. That means if you try to do a special with one, the game sometimes won't recognize that you passed a diagonal, and you'll only get something like a 2_6 or a 2_4. Of course, when that happens, you'll just get a normal instead of a special. It's extremely frustrating and it completely negates my enjoyment of the game. If anyone thinks I'm exaggerating, go into Training Mode with a first party 360 controller, turn the input display on, and spin the control stick around in full circles. After a second or two, stop and take a look at your inputs. More often than not, you'll see times where you went from something like down to forward without hitting down-forward, or up to back without hitting up-back.

Yeah, it really seems that way. It actually does more guaranteed damage than most Distortions in Extend. If the fact the command grab only works on standing opponents meant she wouldn't be able to earn it against a crouched opponent, I'd be more inclined to think it isn't all that silly. But since you can force crouched opponents to stand with the first hit of Drive 236D, that probably means the only way Noel won't be able to combo into that with 50 Heat is if her opponent is floated. But maybe some of her Drive combos don't work on standing opponents, so iunno. Game just came out, etc.

I'll be excited about Guilty Gear again when they can either fix the problems with the 360 controller, or Aksys can respond to one of the three e-mails I've sent to customer service about it. Seriously, I'm astounded with the lack of professionalism. So how about Noel's command grab doing 1.5K unscaled and untechable mid-combo in CP?
