Another factor is being able to identify/distinguish the animation of the attack you need to react to. For example, even though Jin's 6A has 2 frames less startup than Tsubaki's 6A, his overhead is still easier to react to because of the sword spin, and her overhead is harder to react to because the startup of its animation is very similar to her 6B (a low). If you think of things that way, your reaction time isn't really processing anything until you notice what differentiates the mix-up from something else. Does that make sense?

So, the Kagura/Terumi trailer on Arc System Works's channel has a very clear shot of the emblem at the end. Any ideas? -
[AC] Report Bugs and Missing Features
Jackie Chandler replied to reaVer's topic in Guilty Gear General
Yes. Yes yes yes yes yes. It's the reason I absolutely can't stand playing this game on 360. I use pad instead of stick, and I can rarely manage special/super inputs because of how often diagonals arbitrarily don't register. Interestingly enough, the PS3 version reads my 360 controller inputs perfectly when I'm using a converter, though. I've been meaning to e-mail Arc System Works about this for some time, but considering the fact that they don't have a customer support branch stateside, I don't know if I'd be able to send them the message in English or if I'd have to translate it to Japanese, haha. -

Welcome to MTNG! It's always a pleasure to see new faces - especially when they're into BB, haha. We have plenty of players on PSN - I actually think there are more PS3 players than 360 players in the community now, but I'm not sure how many people actively play BB on it. If you do end up getting internet, I'd be happy to get in some games with you. :] -

I swear to god, if they gave Ky a ponytail just so it would make an X shape with Sol's when they're standing back to back... -

Big thanks to everyone who made it out, especially Ohio (and any other out-of-staters I didn't know about)! I had a blast, and Arc Revo was pretty hype. Match streaming could have been a lot better outside Top 8, and I would have LOVED it if the Xrd trailer was played instead of the XBlaze/CP character trailers, but it was a very enjoyable experience nonetheless. Another huge thanks to Milln for housing people, hosting Arc Revo, and ordering pizza. I'll be looking forward to seeing all you guys at MWC! Dude, that looks extremely high quality. And with the ability to record without being connected to a computer, I'd imagine hardware limitations aren't any issue whatsoever. I'll be looking forward to seeing it in action. That $180 price tag seems very reasonable for what it's capable of. @Xrd - Pretty sure they gave Ky a ponytail in Xrd just so he'd resemble Tad more. -
[Xrd] News & (Theoretical) Gameplay Discussion

We don't know for a fact that it was a special intro, though. Neither Sol nor Ky did anything that would be impossible in actual gameplay (like throwing the second hit of Tyrant Rave), so it very well could have been a recreation of the special intro using actual gameplay mechanics. Also, as cool as the "cut-ins" for Tyrant Rave and Ride the Lightning were (2:11 - 2:14), I just noticed how blatant and in-your-face they would seem in actual gameplay. IMO, Guilty Gear supers don't need to be presented like SF4 Ultras. -

My observations of the trailer. Haven't flipped through 20 pages to see if they've already been mentioned or not, so my apologies if they've been mentioned before. -Three of the four clashes from 1:44 to 1:49 (not counting the projectiles) cause one of the players to kind of "flinch" and freeze in place momentarily. This might imply clashes are being reworked so that higher damage/priority moves force the opponent into a similar state after a clash, rather than simply allowing both players to cancel into whatever they want. That's all assuming this isn't just the new opening fight sequence for the two though, haha. - Ky's launching move doesn't look anything like his 5D, nor does it even look like an overhead. - I CANNOT get over how obscenely large Sol's shoulders are. Like, his torso is impossibly large too, but that's not as big of a deal. Seriously, just pause the video when there's a shot of him standing still, place your thumb over his shoulder so that it's the same size as the rest of his arm, and try to tell me that doesn't look a million times better. - The stage Sol and Ky are playing on - Statue of Liberty, signpost that says New York in both directions, American flags, Sheriff?! Guilty Gear's comin' to 'murrica. That's all I got. -

Trailer song for Xrd? What's-?... *Googles* HOLY SHIT. Holy. Shit. That must have gotten shown while we were all asleep. Fuck. XD For those who are out of the loop like me: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NKGPhKu3jNg I really, REALLY would have preferred it if they hadn't switched to 3D models. Sprites have always been part of the appeal to me. But as long as the gameplay is good, I'll get over it. -
Gawd, that song in the Kagura/Terumi trailer. I wonder whose theme it was - I imagine it was one of the two's. Either way, I can't wait to hear a full version of it (or at the very least, a sample of it. Make it happen, PLEASE, Arcsys).

@CEO - Like Milln said, Megabus prices haven't updated past June 26th, which is LITERALLY the day before people would need to buy their tickets. I'll keep an eye on them, though. I know I won't be able to afford it, but I'd like to make it more affordable/possible for you guys if I can. @PostMTN - I would LOOOOOOVE to watch Arc Revo stuff and hang out after the tourney. -
Why wouldn't knowledgeable Jins just tech trap with 5C every time then? It catches both forward AND back rolls regardless of where the Ice Car ends, and even if you Neutral tech, he'll still be back to neutral before his opponent can do anything. The only exception is if you Emergency Roll, and even then, the Jin will have plenty of time to recognize the fact that he shouldn't 5C once he lands. That said, I think your best option against Jin's Ice Car is to Emergency Roll every time. He doesn't have hardly any time to set up any oki or gimmicks out of it, and if you Forward/Back/Neutral Tech, he can 5C for free to punish the former two without any risk of being punished by the latter whatsoever.

PFFFFFFFF. Well, that is SIGNIFICANTLY easier with almost exactly the same effect. It makes me wonder why the cr.lk combo was in the Tutorial - you know, the place you're supposed to learn practical and applicable things - instead of Challenge Mode. The cr.lp combo would have been much more suited to the task. Thanks for the info though guys, I'll be sure to to utilize it~.

Not sure if this is the right place to put it, but while trying to complete the second part of Gallon's Tutorial 5, I came across a much easier way of getting it consistent. The input by itself is normally cr.LK -> s.MP -> Moment Slice (LP MP 6 LK MK), which is particularly uncomfortable to do on pad. As it would turn out, you can use the s.MP and have it count towards the Moment Slice input. But what about the LP, you ask? Simple. The input you want to do is cr.LK -> s.LP -> s.MP -> 6LK -> 6MK. You have to do the first three inputs VERY quickly, but a simple piano of the buttons should do the trick. The applications of this aren't just limited to making the inputs easier, or actually performing the challenge on a pad - it should make hit confirming into the Moment Slice much easier, considering you have both the cr.LK and the s.MP to confirm if you got the hit, and only two more buttons to press once you find out you got the hit or not. Sorry if this has been mentioned already, or if it's not the most useful piece of information. I'm new to this game.

Man, I can't wait for next weekend's MTN~. And since it's kind of a hot topic recently, how many of you guys are interested in Vampire Savior? Seems like Tad and Star are, and I know almost everybody in Cookeville is, too. Just trying to gauge interest. :O Also, did you guys know Kyle was in Japan to play VSAV recently? Tret brought it up to the Cookeville guys and my mind was BLOWN. Check it out here: I'm super happy for him. That's an opportunity he's deserved for a long time.
