  1. Exactly, if they break the throw then depending on how faw you are you can IAD j.B 5A 5B 6B 6D vivace so atleast you get them sandwiched. It's not guaranteed that an arcade stick will make you better. I play on the 360 analog, most of you guys are probably loling right now, and I don't feel that a stick would drastically increase my potential from what it is right now. Infact I could get worse. I would suggest try playing carl on a friends stick first or at an arcade assuming there is a scene in your area. Play using stick for a while, I don't know how long exactly, and see how things are turning out. I know some people who spent the money on a stick, thinking they'll get better, only to learn how to play with a stick, see no improvement or actually got slightly worse, sell the stick or keep it, and continue using their pad.
  2. Now I think about it anima having super armor is wonderful. People like to just run up and poke at her, sometimes using 5A/2A, close range pokes. With super armor, she won't stop, so if you they are not careful with their poking the throw will be a counter throw, aka untechable, into free combo. Anima leads into easy 4.5k meterless combos. This is great. Although anima is slow at least this adds a need super armor move, and this could end up getting more use than 4D cause even if you're add the end of the screen you can combo after a CH anima unlike 4D which requires you to be close. 4D still has it's application ofcourse. I hope this change stays, but if it's in exchange for 8D then I want mah 8D back lol.
  3. lol 8d blockable. Arc is trolling carl players. The answer to sandwich/corner pressure, resets, and strats is to simply jump. 8D is what keeps people on the ground. This change is not going to stay.
  4. @ zong's post: lmao now i think about it it can be very hard for new comers to understand us when we're talking about strats/combos cause we omit activation/deactivation points, places where you have to buffer in the nirvana move to get a desired effect, and most times we write combos the way they are seen and not how they are done (like 2D loop is written like j.2C j.C 2D instead of j.2C]D[ j.C, or during a 4D combo after 4D hits we would write dash 5C sjc j.B dj.2C allegretto 8D when it's really performed like.....dj.2C 8D allegretto) Lol, then again it can be so hard to always have to include those, since carl players would understand when to input moves. I guess that's what this thread is for EDIT This is especially crucial with his resets where you have such a small window to buffer in stuff and you have to know exactly when to activate nirvana so that her move comes out in sync with your making the window for escape as small as possible for your opponent. That's why I'm happy that I've been able to link most of the resets to vids. most of us would understand but new comers would be at a loss of when things should be done
  5. Okay gais my mom is leaving the country tomorrow. She worked me hella hard the time she spent here. I will be semi free once I drop her off at the airport tomorrow. So I can finally update the reset thread I promised I would update like a month ago, and hopefully get back on here to give input/ideas. Man I can't wait.
  6. LMAO, it might be a bit too late. Infact I just got done playing him again a while ago. I'll tell you this zong, take your time, and time out if you have to. Better brush up on the reset thread, lol, cause I've shown him quite a few and if you use those at NEC he'll be like "nah nigga that aint goin work. Hawkeye tried that already", lol. I can tell you how he plays though secretely, lol, but I don't know if that would help much. It's too hard of a matchup for carl. Not hopeless hard that it becomes a 7-3 imo, but really hard.
  7. I played a couple games with Pulsr's Mu the other day. From my exp Carl vs Mu is 3.5-6.5 Carl has to RTSD or die. It's that simple. No approaching slowly and taking his time to setup, etc. Throw all that out the window. I won 2/3 game, but that was because I was successful in my rushdown. All 3 games were really close though. Carl vs Litchi is 3.5 - 6.5 Lol, Lord Knight and I know each other too well. Once she hitconfirms carl has to burst or it's auto lose. She can zone him for free, and he has to play almost mistake free just to have a chance. Once you get litchi/Mu sandwiched you have to end it there and then or you might not get that chance again. If nirvana breaks in either matchups...... EDIT Mu vs Carl could be a potential 7-3, but I'm not sure yet. I'd have to see some pro matches of carl vs mu.
  8. Lol, it's funny isn't it. People are complaining BB is too easy, and then you have casuals complaining that it's too hard. What surprised me was that they didn't even want to keep playing to see how things turned out. Their initial impression was "Too hard, I'm not going to devote time to it". I was so surprised that they did that. You would think they would realize that with time things would become clearer, but no. Nowadays casuals are like if I can't understand/get into it quickly, like SF4, then I don't want to play. Lol, that confirmed to me that the days of GG are dead. Some say mori is a scrub/doesn't know how to make fighters, lol, but this explains why he's going in this direction with BB. Don't be fooled, mori could easily add mechanics/changes to BB that would up the difficulty, but those CEOs won't allow it. BBCT was faster than CS. At first I was like "why did they do this?". I wouldn't be surprised if casuals said the game was too fast, so they slowed it down. Arc created BB as a marketable GG so to speak. They still wanted a bit of that GG feel, but more suited towards marketability.
  9. ^^^ @ Gigadrive: If they are smart, as a company, they would want to make money. People need to understand this. The hardcore market is not as big a hardcore fans like to believe. It's actually a very small portion of the gaming community. This is why the Wii is so successful. It appeals to soccer moms and grandmas. Why do you think stuff like mario galaxy sell 10 mil in like the first week? the game is so easy and simply to pick up and play. hardcore players could breeze through it with their eyes closed, just like I did. Nintendo doesn't give a damn that many hardcore fans didn't like the direction they took with the wii, they're using $100 bills to wipe their @$$. They couldn't give a damn about the hardcore. Same with capcom and SF4. As sad as it may be for vets, MONEY comes first. I'm disappointed as well, but it's the reality of things, and if I owned a business money would come first too.
  10. The only way another GG would happen would be for arc to dumb it down to BB level. SJ is right, no company is going to appeal to the hardcore anymore. This is the first thing hardcore vets need to understand. I tried to like SF4, but I couldn't, and I hated what capcom did to it, but I fully understand why they did what they did. CEOs and share holders only care about $$$$, if while presenting the game to them Ono was like "I would like to make the next itteration more advanced than 3S", he would have been taken off the project immediately,and someone who would dumb it down would have been put in charge. An upgraded GG will lose arc money. No company in current times is going to make such a foolish mistake. Companies like to upgrade their games for their hardcore fans, but if the market calls for a dumbed down version then they will appeal to the market first and foremost. Casuals = 100000000X more $$$$$$ than hardcore. That's why BB was created, it's more friendly to consumers. I also agree with Sophisticat. As easy as BB is to us, it's actually not as casual friendly as we'd like to think. In the gaming center on my college campus, someone out of the blue (the first time) decided to bring BBCT to play with people. Only a few of knew how to play. Lol, most of the people watching didn't even know what Blazblue was, lol, but you can bet they knew about SF4. They tried playing, and they would constantly say "What the heck is going on?", "wow this stuff is pretty hard". Don't forget most of them are not used to air dashing, air blocking, barrier blocking, etc. Some were interested, but most of the people there were like "this is too hard/fast for me". I was like "It seems that way at first but you'll eventually get used to it with practice", but they still insisted that it was too much for them. Really? BB hard? Lol, then what would they say about GG? So you see, assuming there is a next GG, and if they want it to SELL, keyword, then they really have to dumb it down, and probably make the characters muscles a bit bigger, probably take away air dashing, might even have to include a "rage" bar separately from the meter bar which fills up when you get hit...............hahahahaha you get where I'm going with this . Joking aside, yeah they'll have to make it easier to enter and play.

Like you had no regard for defense and just wanted to rush me the fuck down and I loved it lol. I know you play Mu now but nonetheless i would still like to play you. I play carl.

Some more so than others, but just let him go guys, you might really be hurting him more than you think. Also, what happened in this thread? Lol, as LS said you guys make GameFaqs look like a joke. Weeeellllllll not necessarily, lol, GF is in a league of its own but this thread comes close. Also, why is there this EC vs WC rivalry? It also happens in sf4/ssf4, and I don't understand it. Why can't you guys just play without worrying about which region is the best? Why must one region be "better" than the other. If you're a good player, then you're good, regardless of what region/country you're in.

I know, that's why I said "adding FC to it doesn't make a difference and if it was just a normal "counter" he wouldn't be in the discussion", but somone at arcsys just decided that when Jayoku counter hits it should be a fatal. It's just because it has FC tacked on to it, and we're talking about FCs afterall, so we can't just leave him out of it. The FC property doesn't do much for it, but it's still a FC regardless. I know what you and zidane are saying, but we're talking about FCs and that includes jayoku, even though there isn't much of a difference from normal jayoku and fatal jayoku.
  16. It's not necessarily about how much damage you can get form a fatal counter, but rather how often and easy it is to use. I would also agree with zong and spirit juice. Practicality and consistency are the overriding factors, imo, of how good a FC is. Carl's j.B is good, but people learn to eventually stop trying to just AA him everytime he jumps towards them, this isn't CT anymore where he was free in the air. You're going to have to catch someone doing something to get FC j.B, and 95% of the time when it lands you'll do his basic FC combo which nets 3.3K. The 5.3 - 5.9 k he can get with nirvana is too situational, hence the 5%. Once people learn to respect carl's j.B, they won't just toss out AAs at him, so actually hitting a FC j.B will not happen very often. This is not the same for hazama. It's not the fact that he doesn't get much off FC jayoku than normal jayoku, but rather how easy and consistently he get's FC Jayoku. Yes adding FC to it doesn't make a difference, and if it was considered just a normal "counter" then he wouldn't be in the discussion, but it's a FC, and that's what we're talking about. People consistenly land more FC jayokus than any other FC because all you simply need to do is IB. Carl has to catch you while attempting to do or doing something. Hazama just has to instant block. I'm assuming that's what zong is trying to say. Practicality, consistency, how much fear it strikes, etc override damage. Hazama takes the cake in all those departments. Let's assume tsubaki could 1-shot kill all characters with 5 stars after a FC 6C. It still wouldn't matter cause you'll never ever land a 6C FC, and even if you do you'll never have 5 stars. All the damage doesn't make a difference if it's too situational to happen.

  18. I'm not gonna lie toan I like facing your lambda, lol I almost said Nu. The way you use lambda is very......I don't know how to explain it. It's very different from the other lambdas. There's something distinct about your playstyle that makes you stand out so much. You're much more patient than the others and you don't use D as much. Sometimes I wonder why you use her. I'm like "Why isn't his hand glued to D", lol, and I actually get angry at you sometimes for not pressuring me with her swords. It's like you just stare at me and I'm like "Press D Dammit" lol. It's like you don't want to pressure with D cause you see it as spamming or something but nonetheless it intrigues me.

  19. LMAO. I've been sooooo on and off with CS lately. I don't even know when I'll be on. I take such long breaks in between and play at such random times now we'd literally have to be on at the same time to ever play. I don't know what happened. I used to play it as much as rabbits have babies, but now i'll be lucky to catch anyone before the next solar eclipse. I would love to play you again, but I can't give a specific time and date, it's just too random. I'm going through so many mood swings and that's whats affecting my play time.

  23. If there's anything like an overly defensive hakumen, (lol I don't know how you can get anymore defensive than hakumen), you would be the definition of it. You take defense to a whole new level, and it really frustrates me when I fight you, but when I get in, hit confirm, reset you and see so much red....That's why I love fighting you mac, cause when I do sandwich it's like I'm punishing you for keeping me out for so long. I release all the frustration you caused me out on you at that moment, lol. I pull out my hair everytime we cross paths, but that extreme overly defensive style of yours brings out the worst of my blood thirst and I love you for that, lol no homo. I would love to play you again sometime. When do you usually play? or is it just random?

  24. ROTFLMAO, yes this match can timeout easily. It's hard for carl to zone her, and if she's just content on poking there's nothing he can do. It's a match of who loses patience first and gets in or who takes a big risk and goes in any way. It's harder for carl to get in on her than it is for her to get in on him. This match is definitely in litchi's favor. One hit confirm from her, with his measly 9.5k health, is practically auto-lose, and she can break his primers easily. She also has nothing to worry about when pressuring him, cause his main concern when away from nirvana and under pressure is to escape, which can be baited and punished.
