  1. Tsubaki vs tager is clearly in tager's favor. The thing about this match is that when you distance yourself from tager, after a bnb, you can get charge so you'll constantly average 3000. 22d is the most effective against tager. You can poke him from 5b range and 22D. If you see A sledge you can release 22d early on reaction and it will win. Even if tager tries to jump 22d he can still get hit at times just because of his hitbox. This is the only match where you constantly get to see tsubaki average over 3k, and in some cases 5.2k with 3 charge and 50 heat. I do this to tagers all the time. 5B can give tager some trouble at times, but it's still not enough. When she's magnetised there's little she can do, and her only answer to GF is her DP, but A sledge beats her DP and it can be baited out. Although be careful though. If tsubaki has 3 charges and she wants to escape she can 623D j.236D j.214D. So watch out for that and she can rapid that if all else fails. Imo tsubaki and rachel are very close in tiers. Funny thing is rachel is actually the better rushdown character . Cat chair >>>>>> tsubaki's DPs. Tsubaki's DP trades with normals. Yeah that's right folks, with normals. 0 invincibility, unless you use the D version, but then you're sacrificing a charge which you need for damage and which is almost impossible to get against everyone else but carl/haku/tager. Rachels wind regenerates, no charging needed, nuff said. Rachels normals >>>>>> tsubaki's normals. Tsubaki's normals are similar to carls normals. They suck. 5B is the only range she has whatsoever but even that trades at times and it gets beat by ragna's 5b clean. Her D moves put her at a disadvantage on block. Can you believe that. A charge based moved putting me at a disadvantage ON BLOCK. The same charge that I need for everything and work hard to get against everyone but 3 characters? I might as well have used her non-charge unsafe versions, cause it's practically the same thing. You will whiff normals at point blank range, and get punished severly for it. If you want to break 4k without heat you have to start off 22D and have like 3 charge and be in the corners. Seriously!?!?!? 22d is so gimmicky it can only work so many times. Her offensive game and trying to deal damage is based soley on trickery, gimmicks, and conditioning. Her offense/mixup is not solid at all. Her mugen mode is nice, but the damage dealt for 50 heat and for the amount of charge wasted is not enough. You make a choice between sacrificing oki for charge, or not charge and dealing measly damage only to get counter hit and take 3x more damage. Those are just a few points. Theoreticallly Tsubaki is the worst character in the game. You'll have more success with rachel. Realistically rachel is the worst ONLY BECAUSE OF HER DAMAGE. She doesn't deal enough, and the top deal too much. I really hope the patch can change more than just proration numbers. I'm talking about hitboxes and such, cause rachel can be easily fixed with number changes. Tsubaki needs an overhaul of hitboxes, damage, how she gains meter, etc.
  2. (1 of 4) GGs. I would say the match up is 5-5. Carl doesn't have any advantage over lambda, and vice versa. The good thing now, well for me lol, is that nirvana actually helps on defense by blocking lambda's swords. I would say don't let me corner you or get you sandwiched, lol easier said than done, but that's the best advice I can give. You'll probably get better advice in the matchup thread in the lambda forums. Carl still has to jump a lot, but unlike CT he's jumping for a different reason. The reason why you saw me jumping is because your swords from behind, 4d i think, can keep me in blockstun and prevent me from using nirvana. Also don't try and act pulsar DP, (623 C i think), while I'm jumping like a maniac, lol. I've had lambda's try that but I'm expecting it and I just barrier, land, and they're right next to me and nirvana. Don't use lambda's DP during my blockstrings or resets too much either.

  3. (2) Her dp isn't that effective against carl. Because of his hitbox and the way some of his resets work sometimes her dp will just whiff, even though I'm right next to her, or I'll bait it out and punish. 214D isn't that effective against carl because of nirvana. lol you're probably going "so how the hell is this even". Well, carl can still be guard broken with his measly 4 primers, and his health is really low, so lambda doesn't have to do much to kill him, and unlike the other characters he slowly advances forward . It can take a while for him to corner/sandwich lambda cause he still has to watch out for her 4d and 6d while jumping. Lambda's mobility and DP can help her escape some pressure/resets. It's by no means an easy match for carl so don't be fooled into thinking carl has an advantage based on how the match plays out. It might look like he has an advantage because of nirvana eating lambda's swords, but he doesn't. I've played other lambda's so I atleast knew what to do.

  4. (3) Yeah I too have lost to quite a few ragnas, but it's mainly because of his EZ mode braindead high tier placement. They didn't do anything special, but because he's so good, they won. Any one can pick ragna and 5b 5c 5d dash up 5b 5c 5d, rinse wipe repeat until you hit confirm into BE and win. You don't even have to be a ragna main, lol. Surprisingly I have an easier time against bang than ragna with carl. Bang's 5a is stupid, (till this day I haven't beaten a single bang with tsubaki cause 5a>>>>>>tsubaki) and all bangs are mashers in CS (quick wakeup 5a, dash up 5a, IAD 5a, safe reversal DD-follow up with 5a, etc) but his range is not as retarted as ragna's and he averages about 3k meterless whereas ragna's is 4k. Lol carl only has 9000 health so 2 combos, ending the second combo with a DD from rags usually kills me. Whereas I have to reset and bait out DPs, etc. Surprisingly a ton on my losses have come from haku and tager.

  5. (4) Carl is helpless to 4c/j.c. Carl has no answer to Gadget finger and it doesn't help that tagers mashing 720 are helped by lag. I can't say how many times I've eaten a mashed out 720 in lag to lose to a tager. Don't worry too much about your win% though. A good player can still have a low win%, and you're win% is greatly determined by who you play(the char you use and how good you are with that char player), what char your opponent is using, and how good your opponent is with that char. So it's very "deceiptful" so to speak. If I played tsubakis all day then I'd be at 100%, lol. Just look at many ragnas and bangs with high win%, 99% of them are being carried by their char. So I won't put too much worry on win%. If you ever need matchup exp just pm me. If I'm free or have the time to spare then we can play, or if you have any of the other carls on your friends list then they can help out as well.

  6. GG yesterday. Don't worry after I get better with tsubaki you'll wonder why she isn't top tier, lol, just joking. I actually thought the way you used lambda was kinda cute, lol. I don't mean to offend and I'm sorry if I do. It's just the way you were playing, I was like "awww arcade is really trying to learn lambda and giving it his all. There he is trying to tk feint me and stuff Isn't that cute", lol. I still use carl but I use tsu a lot more. If you want matchup exp against carl I can play you just invite me to a room and if im free we can go at it, but I must warn you though my carl is sloppy cause I've been using tsu way too much.

  7. What combo was that if you don't mind me asking?
  8. noob question.how do you kara fall with tsubaki?
  9. noob question, where do you download the patch from for xbl? Is it out yet?
  10. I'm not gonna lie I stole your volante summon combo. I actually got salty that I didn't realize to incorporate volante into summon combos. Lol, I promise I'll make you jealous with the 4D combo i'm learning :-p

  11. lol, i actually got tsubaki's high jump cancel down. I can get it like 95% of the time. The trick is to high jump cancel and press j.c when she is like 1/4-1/2 the distance up. Don't hjc and then press j.c when she's already up there. Press j.c she as she's going up, like right when she has traveled about 1/4 -1/2 the distance between her and her opponent. The j.c takes a while to come out by pressing it between 1/4-1/2 the distance up to the opponent, by the time she gets up there the anination would have already started and she'll hit them right at the hjc height. Hope that helps. EDIT Press it right after you hjc. That should also work as well.
  12. lol, i'm sorry mac but it was astral or nothing against you in that match. It was my last of the day and I wanted to go out with a BANG, lol, just joking.

  13. OMG thank both of you. I'm adding Tsubaki as my other main, and I was having trouble with her challenges today. ALL of her stuff requires super jump cancel it ridiculous. I breezed through carl's challenges with my eyes closed, but tsubaki's is a struggle, and these are her basic bnbs you'll use all the time. I thought I was just doing something wrong, but man tsu's challenges can get really annoying. The timing on her basic stuff is pretty strict.
  14. hahahahaha lol thank you Zevali that was a very sweet message. I'm not gonna lie it made me blush, hahaha. No prob. I created that thread so that just incase you were tired of using the same resets, people caught on to your current resets, etc you could go there and mix things up a bit. Lol, i'm happy to know you're using it. For a second there I thought no one used it, except me, and I wasted all my time finding all that stuff and typing it out. I really liked and appreciated your message. Thank you. :-) I actually stumbled upon your YT carl vids, and it was nice to see you progress and learn him. I look forward to seeing more of your pro vids when you become god like.

  15. I finally used her extensively today, carl got not a single second of my time. I love tsubaki. She is so fun to use. Her concept and style of fighting is very unique. I like how her rushdown is very different from the other rushdown characters. I also love using her 23698C during my mixup it looks so damn flashy, and then I go in for a tick throw, 2a spam, 6a, or block to bait out a response. I'm overdoing they way I'm playing her, i know, but i'm having so much fun right now. I really wish I don't become addicted too much lol. I'm still trying to adjust to CS carl so hopefully she doesn't take over his spot.
  16. Hey guys, um how do you do this vid1 vid2 . It's the stuff she does to ragna and jin after 3C, where it looks like she's about to jump but falls back down. I can't remember the name of the move but it's j.236 a/b/c/d (i think i haven't used here extensively yet). Like how do you do the "fake out" version, the stuff in the vid, so to speak. Sorry for not explaining it well.
  17. lmao i thought i was the only one. I dont have a prob with his 2d/4d loop. Infact it's easier to do 2d/4d combos in CS for me. Right now I can get volante combos about 60% of the time. It's his resets that I seem to be dropping alot. Like i'm attempting some of the stuff from the reset thread and I'm dropping them like crazy. It's taking me longer to get used to him than I thought. He has a kind of "floaty" feel to him, or is it just me. I'd say he's def a lot harder and more technical to play now. Although all this could be because I'm just getting used to his overall CS feel.
  18. hey mac I haven't played your haku in ages and I miss him. I actually had a dream about you a while ago, lol get your mind outta the gutter mac it was about BB. I'll tell you later. Anyway I'd like to go at it again with you before CS comes out. Atleast I stand a chance now before all I see is "[4C] x n 'mAc Wins' " all the time, lol just joking.

  19. Lol, i've always wanted to ask you a question. Why is it that every time I get you sandwiched and hit confirm you like immediately burst. lol i mean it always sends me into laughter. I'm like "I haven't even done anything what the...". I actually get kinda salty cause I like attempting reset but you don't give me the chance, lol. GGs yesterday. Yeah the tager nu matchup is terrible. I got trolled by every nu I played yesterday. Lol, but most of them picked bang agains me initially when they saw carl on my card. The second time the returned to nu since they figured I'd pick tager again, lol. Lol, 1 trolled me but with the help of the gods I some how pulled through with a lucky 720 to win. Playing BB never felt so good.

  20. haha you're too hard on yourself. Have I watched carl vs tager? lol, I love that matchup, especially when I use tager and get carl in a 720. Although when I use carl I always wonder how the tager player feels when I have him trapped by the wall. I feel like a hunter, and tager is my prey. It brings out the blood thirst in me. lol, anyway I'll try to give you insight from carl's eyes, with a little insight from my scrubby tager's point of view, although I'll most likely be wrong on the tager part. The only character carl is faster than is tager, so for once carl has an advantage in mobility, lol. This helps carl cause tager can't just rush in, like every body else, and start pressuring him. At the same time you have to play carl in a passive aggressive way, (more emphasis on defense and spacing than aggression) only applying pressure at the right time with nirvana backing you up. So tager doesn't feel like he's constantly getting pressured at all times like in his other matchups, and he has some breathing room to play with until he's cornered/sandwiched. Since tager can't run away like other characters and is so big, it's easier to push him towards the corner, but his range and spark bolt can prove difficult at times. Because carl has no good range outside of 5c, once he is magnetized and close to tager his main priority is to escape (barrier, vivaceB if tager tries B sledge, or IB vivace/backdash). Tager's magnetism on carl, with carl being right next to him, is very very effective. Trying to counter tager in the middle of his 5a/sledge spam is a no no. Since both characters are so slow in advancing, considering how you have to play them, you're going to see a lot of footsies, poking, and spacing. Tagers range, esp against carl, is good. Yes carl's 5c is good against tager, but you have to respect tagers range as well, especially once he has spark bolt. The last thing you want as carl is to get hit by a random SB, eat a combo, and be right next to tager magnetized. Carl has no answer to magnetism. If you notice in the carl vs tager vids, when carls get hit by a random spark bolt they usually burst if they have the life lead, lol, yes it's that serious. All tager needs to do is get in once, have carl magnetized and the game can end right there in a couple seconds. When tager has spark bolt, carls poking with 5c lessens dramatically, only doing 5c when nirvana is on just incase the tager has a twitchy finger. If tager is poking at nirvana and his bolt is fully charged, carl will most likely back peddal to the end of the screen, holding down back just incase he fires it. You do not want to be close to tager while magnetized. When carl has tager sandwiched, it's pretty much a guessing game for both players. Tager can 720/360 carl during some of his resets, and his backdash can help him escape some of them as well and give him the chance to punish with a 360/720. Thing is most carl mains know about this, so they'll incorporate some resets that are 720/360/backdash proof, so to speak, or simply bait it out. When I say resets that are 720/360/backdash proof, i mean if the tager tries anyone of those during the reset attempt, he'll most likely get counter hit by nirvana due to the nature of the reset, and the 720/360 will whiff, resetting the combo for carl for free. Tagers 2C can also help him in resets. You might trade hits will carl, but tager will most likely recover fast enough to combo. I really can say much on this one, cause it's a guessing game for both players. Carl has no answer to Gadget finger. Carl's range up close is terrible. 5a beats vivace, 5a beats out carls 5a/b, 6a beats carls backdash, etc. I can't see a situation where carl is at an advantage after gadget finger. The only time when tager should be really careful after GF is when nirvana is close. The carl will most likely be looking to counter, although it'd be difficult. From what I see and as a carl main myself, I'd say a carl's countering confidence increases when nirvana is close, lol. Most of the time we want to run away from pressure and hide behind her, but when she is close we will take the risk of countering even at the cost of half out health. (like if tager has carl magnetized in the corner with nirvana on the other side, you bet i'm going to try and escape, but if i'm cornered, magnetized, and she's right there then I'm definitely going to take a risk and go for a counter hit) This applies to the other characters as well. This match can be a long staring contest at times, dragging on till "Time Up". Whoever blinks first, (carl accidentally gets magnetized and in the corner, tager is sandwiched/cornered) can pretty much lose the match off of just one mistake, more so carl than tager. Momentum is so important in this match. Carl spends the entire match resetting/comboing tager only to mess up once and lose the match. Carl can get the momentum going faster than tager and he has an easier time approaching, but tager only needs to capitalize on one mistake or guess right during one reset attempt to put carl in serious trouble.
  21. Lol, this vid (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=do8ugEO6mSk#t=1m55s) pretty much shows what I was saying, but atleast seeing it makes it easier to understand. I'll post the resets from that vid, edit the reset above, and also post some of the other stuff I found.
  22. Sure, hopefully I finish it in time b4 CS release. I procrastinate too much. I'll put resets that work regardless of whether they are standing or crouching in a "Universal Reset" section.
  23. XBOX GT: Hawkeye Miihawk PS3 :-( Bout time you got DAT @$$ over to the 360.
  24. sorry for the late reply. Yep you are correct. Carl dies way too quickly cause everyone deals way too much damage in CT. A lot of things were fixed and carl was improved so he is a much better character in CS and doesn't need a loop to be competitive. I wish I still throw looped like you kyle. Some times I really want to, lol. I hate the BS the others can get away with in CT. The loop really helped and because of that I envy you, lol. I could always go back but I'm too used to not playing with it, lol, but I end up raging a lot. Now I see how haku and tager mains feel, lol. Atleast CS will be out in a week so I won't have to rage so much anymore, GET HYPE.
