Problem though, with the meter thing, is in the haku vs carl matchup it's very easy to conserve meter. I really wanna see him vs rushdown/zoning character(besides haku) where he's going to have to have her active more often. The fact that 5C j.B j.2C is connecting might mean that j.2C's hitbox was increased, cause iirc in CS1 you would need a sjc for that or a character with a good hitbox such as jin/ragna for it to work, or be very close to the opponent when in the air. That also explained why someone, don't remember who exactly, said j.2C crossup was safer. Although they didn't say what character that combo worked on, unless it's universal ofcourse.

Hitting someone with a naked 8D might make it possible to do the volante/4D CS1 comb. I'm really curious as to what 8D's P1 and P2 are. The first combo only made use of 8D 4D 3D, so atleast you'll have a lot of meter left (assuming she was at 100/75% when you started) to attempt a reset into a solo combo if you don't want nirvana to die after you hit confirm. After a 2D unblockable, 5C j.B dj.B 8D might be the way to go to do volante/4D like CS1. Since they always fall slowly after getting hit by 8D (hand), you don't have to time it anymore so they get hit by the clap only. He might not be as bad as I thought (thank goodness), the thing though is at jbbs they made mention of how you have to work much harder now. Since nirvana can die much faster than her CS1 counter part, it makes it hard to approach/zone/defend all at once, like you can in CS1. Something along the lines of "So much effort, not enough reward". Going by the haz vid, carl looks like character that will be played in short bursts now. Having to constantly stop to recharge and going all out (not to the point that nirvana breaks) when he catches someone. Tao, haz, ara, mu matchups just got worse cause he can't chase them down with nirvana anymore now. He doesn't need the corner to deal damage, obviously, which is good. The main problem is it's going to take a while to trap characters now, and since his damage is lower, the damage from resets and juggles just got even wider. The good thing now is you can end big damage juggles with j.C into 3D for resets. Problem is whether she'll have enough meter to attempt to attempt a reset. Overall he's shaping up better than I expected. Even if he ends up low, atleast just not so bad he gets blown away by everyone.

  4. Hahaha, I was gonna reply to you last post, lol, but that would just extend it some more and it's far beyond off topic right now. Lol sorry for taking this thread off track. Anyway, I really hope they release a combo vid for her real soon. Something tells me you can switch between 2 items mid combo. Like, 5b blah blah > j.D frying pan > blah blah > bubble > 5D bombs.
  5. We were talking about why certain characters still had loops in the console version (challenge mode combos), and you wondered why arc didn't just fix it if they didn't like it. Well my post explained why. They didn't want to deviate from the arcade version so they left it in, and decided a system update (CS2) would be best route to take to fix some loops/top tier BS that ruin the game. @ starlight: We aren't arguing. I was just trying to clear things up. Other plat players are my brothers and sisters. I would never fight with them. I hope my tone didn't sound like I was arguing. It's impossible to tell someone's tone over the internet
  6. They did that to match up with the arcade version. The console version of a FG is not the standard version, the arcade version is. If the console version is even slightly different, then no one would play it. The only reason why carl's throw loop wasn't taken out in console was to be arcade perfect. Unlike consoles, arcade cabinets can't just download a patch to fix a simple bug. They would have to replace the boards of every BB cabinet in Japan, and international buyers would also have to buy new boards as well. Just for 1 simple bug fix? Then 2 month down the road another bug is found again and they have to repeat the process? That's a waste of money. No company is that stupid. That's why you see so many fighting games with bugs/loops in them that can be easily fixed, but aren't. Cabinets aren't consoles. That's the beauty of nesica. I'm assuming games can be patched through it, so if anything needs fixing asap, a patch can be downloaded into the cabinets, and no one has to wait till the next revision anymore.
  7. There's a difference between a "broken loop", and an ordinary loop. Arakune is like carl. His combos are in the form of loops. Noel's haida loop has been reduced in CS2 (still there but not CS1 like). Lambda's was reduced as well. These are ordinary loops. They do not break the character design nor do they yield too much reward for 0 risk. Carl's throw loop in CT was broken, and arc didn't like it. Taos CS1 taunt loop was broken and taken out. Makotos parry loop was broken and taken out as well. You see the different from these and those? Risk vs reward. Get by CT carls 2a, or any random hit for that matter, and you have to burst. Get by any anything tao has, and you get taunt loop. Get hit by makotos 2a, or any random hit for that matter, and the damage return was stupid. Arc doesn't like loops that break a characters design.
  8. The challenge mode combos are simply there to show you the character's combo potential/ability. Finding out the rest is where we come in. Showing us everything takes out the fun in discovery. I doubt they would have put parry loop challenges. Arc hates loops, and certainly wouldn't encourage it by actually including a challenge for it.
  9. They released challenge combos for both valk and makoto even though they weren't in the arcade. Remember that video of plat in the last bururaji? That came out on the 9th, the day CS2 was released? That had 3 combos including her install fan combo? They already have combos for her. The arcade version needs to make money first. That's the only reason why plat/the patch haven't come out yet. They chose spring cause they don't want to keep their international console customers waiting too long (since we can't get cabinets). Don't forget we already have CS. CS2 is just an update. Were this BB3 then the release would have been around christmas, or possibly early 2012.
  10. Oh, I see. Don't you play on stick all the time? or you mainly use pad? I play him on 360 analog, but I don't know how he'd be on pad. It could be a bit tough to be precise on pad. Anyway i would like to play you sometime again. Lol, I like our games. You play mak like you just don't care, and all you're thinking about is 7k combos. There aren't that many maks on xbl, and I like playing against her.

He hated it cause customers would return broken/used things and say that's how they received it, and he would constantly have to ask the manager what to do in many vague scenarios and she would constantly get kinda annoyed at how he had to ask her so much.   18. What's your current job? There aren't that many BB players in Cali o_O? Yeah, shame really. If only some of those SSF4 kids would atleast give BB a try. They might like it, but best of all they'd atleast increase the pot :bad: It's a very easy game to get into. You'd reach the top in no time. Although you're gonna have to throw that offensive mindset out the window if you wanna win though lol. Lame it out is the way to go. I chose elf fuerte because it was RTSD or die with him.   20. The problem is arc tried to make CS2 faster. That's why they shortened combos and lessened the hitstop. They tried to put that faster gameplay in Carl. So they went "Why don't we reduce nirvana's meter to lessens how long he can pressure, how long he can hold a strong defense, his combos, etc. By doing this he'll have to pressure in short burst, and he can't hold a good defense for too long so others can get in on him easier and faster. In turn making fights vs carl appear faster. Yeah that's a good idea lets do that." Problem is if they actually played carl, they would know that there is no such thing as a faster/speedier carl. You can't speed up his gameplay as easily as you can the other characters. There's really no such thing as a mid tier carl. Carl by design is a zoner, has a strong defensive/turtlish game, and can apply strong pressure. When a character plays so many roles it's hard for them to be mid. He's either really solid (CS1) or gutter trash (CT carl without throw loop and most likely CS2 carl.).

  25. Just like i said earlier Lol, I'm not even worrying about damage right now. Nirvana will die before you can get in and hitconfirm. We need vids, but if he's as bad as he's sounding right now, then I don't know who'll be brave enough to show themselves getting blown up just so we can examine his problems.
