  1. ^^ yeah, b was important for pokes and such, but aside from 4b, there wasn't much necessary application for it. like you could get away with using only c and d. anywho, gravity counter > 5c >6c is less than 1k.
  2. it seems like there'll be a much larger emphasis on RC and the A and B buttons if you want to do decent damage. also, super counters look like they're a bit more viable this time around for her.
  3. well, i'm just going to say that if it stays like that and time outs keep happening, (not just for Nu, but i said before that i saw more time outs on the first day of CS than i had seen the whole time i've played CT) when the inevitable console version comes out, and people actually play like that, expect the online community to die in weeks. heck, people probably won't even stay around for round 2 if round 1 is won by a turtling opponent. because its retarded and not fun. the vast majority of people who buy this game don't play in tournaments or care about penalty frames. they pick a character they like and learn how to play them okay and have fun with the game. when they go online to a stat whore that turtles his way to victory, even after pulling off a few cool combos, but they don't win because the damage is zilch and the system promotes defense, what incentive is there to play the game? i just hope they don't make the AI passive, because you know those 9's the reviewers were giving CT because of its "fast, fluid action"? they're not going to appear because the action is stagnant, matches are long and drawn out, and there's no pleasure to come from playing this game. i guarantee you reviewers will say that and many people will agree with it.
  4. because that's playing the anti-game. a fighting game should be won by having a good offense, not turtling. yes, a good defense is needed to win too (lack of blocking = fail) but turtling yourself to victory is just retarded. like camping in a FPS is a play style, but it's frowned upon because its not how you're supposed to play the game, since you're taking advantage of the mechanics of the game.
  5. am i the only one that sees the problem in that vid? out of 5 rounds, 3 were won by time out.
  6. 100% bar for 4k damage is pathetic. now with the purple nu, i've seen like 3k with 50%..
  7. actually, most "average" combos i've seen are in the 1.8 to 2.2k range. by average i mean just straight up standing hit. even off counters, i've only seen like 2.2 and other really low stuff. highest i've seen to date was a 2.8 and it cost 50% meter..

  9. yeah, just watched that video too. seems like zwei b is a good replacement for the low attack in chains and can be cancelled into the standard d chain. matches still take a long ass time though...

  12. i can already sense full screen 214d~c to zwei c vs tager, cause either they lose a guard point, or you can probably combo that into something. any word on her new theme?
  13. the DP and zwei C look crazy.. the meter on gravity looks fair, seeing as how useful it is. all tager players were probably omfgwtf at that first nu round. haha

  16. yeah, it doesn't seem like she was hit too badly, but we'll have to wait for videos and impressions. from what i see though, the only things that really irks me is the no 5dd > 4dd, 2c has a noticeably shorter range from the vs bang videos, and 5d's startup range is about half a character width further. i'll be refreshing the website all day :D
  17. they just need to make the front toe of the shoe really heavy so it balances out. and yeah, that's a great rawgnya.
  18. well to be picky, Rachel's heels don't actually have the "heel" portion of the shoe. it just has a mofo huge platform at the toe. that's what makes her so badass. she doesn't need heels to kill you. but i don't care either way. since i don't play her (more correctly, i haven't had a change to play her. i will next week though when i go home!!)
  19. I'm assuming CH is counter hit. and yeah, from what i've read, TK crescent doesn't work because of the heigh limitation. if they got rid of it in the more recent tests, then good for us.

  21. you just completely filled me in on the game. thanks a bunch. its well written and very informative. though i'll probably still slug through story mode to get a feel for each character though. less than 2 weeks until i go home and play this game again..
  22. i actually can't see gravity dp (i'm assuming dragon punch, if not, disregard this post..) being that useful. what can you get out of that? first, the recovery is pretty bad. then depending on the location of the enemy at the point of the dp really changes how effective it'll be. like if they're a full screen away, 214c would be pretty useful because it'll give a boatload of time for you to setup or recover, but 214a would be pretty useless because they'll be right there anyways where changes are even with limited movement, you'll be in range of an attack. unless of course, this is talking about the invincibility frames you get from a dp, in which case there's still a long recovery time after you use a gravity well. so being a 2d fighting game mechanics noob, what i said right here might be completely wrong. haha. and yeah, the new act pulsar seems like an ice-car-esque move. except its faster (if it retains its speed from CT) and can hit at different heights. cool.
  23. what does crescent height limitation mean? like, if you jump too high or something? or you can't do it instantly after you jump.
