  1. Oh, trust me, I've definitely been going through the combo list and crossing out the combo's that I don't think are very practical. Is the dash 236D not as practical as I think it is? I don't mind a few hundred less damage for easiness, but it gets me a little irked when it reaches that 400-500 damage difference My technical skills are fairly poor, so I'm a slow learner
  2. Lambda's 2C? Do you mean now that it has head invulrability? She needed it, 6A has such a small amount of frames and such a tiny range, still, it takes some major forsight to counter things with 2C, it has so many startup frames and tons of active frames
  3. But don't quite a few of Lambda's midscreen to corner combo's require the 236C>236D combo? (Well, the more optimal ones?) I feel like not being able to do this consistently would really hurt, the only thing I could think of being worse is if you couldn't do a tk on a regular basis : /
  4. I'm not sure how much the video helps, I'm not seeing the visual cue except that Cavalier shouldn't hit too high or too low. So against a portion of the cast Lambda can just do a simple 236C>236D without having to dash right away? She can just immedately whip out a 236D after the 236C? I couldn't hit Tao doing a simple 236D or dash 236D
  5. Thanks, Haki, I'm at work so I'll watch the video. Lambda's combo's seem more effecient than CS2's. Some of those 236C>dash 2C>5C>4B strings scare me, I can get them 60% of the time, but performing them during pressure may be another thing, sometimes I find myself doing the 2C just a little too early. How are you guys doing with her combo's? I've been going through the list and marking the one's that are easy, safe, effecient and high damaging. I can't justify the risk of some of the combo's when the other does nearly the same damage with easier results
  6. Oh, looking at Emjays list 236C>236D, it should work on Tao actually. What does 2366D stand for? (dashing?) I've been away from BB for a while so I'm a little behind
  7. Well, shit, I didn't know dashing 236D didn't work on everyone. I was using Tao as my training dummy : / Even still, it's difficult to hit. I've been looking on Lolo's list, and it has some typos and whatnot. Is there a different list that has all the optimal combos, or is that part of the thread the only place to print and practice Lambda's better combos? Lambda's combos aren't too difficult, but it's a little nervewracking how space specific they are and how much you have to improvise depending on where and how the character was hit
  8. I've been practicing loloko's combos in the combo thread and was doing fine until I hit the midscreen corner combos. I'm basically stuck on the 2B>3C>236B>RC>5DD>236C>236D>Dash>214D~C>4B>j.214D>6DD>2DD>Aerial D The same goes for the others, I'm having issues with 236C>236D connecting, they seem to tech before it can land. I have issues with some other combo's, but this one's pretty crucial if I want to get large damage from Lambda Some of her combo's are so not worth doing for an extra 200 damage, I'll take a non risky 4200 combo over a risky 44400 any day
  9. You know what i wish i could watch while high on weed? Tim and Eric Awesome Show: Good Job! Man, that shit is trippy when you're sober
  10. Team games? You can team up now with people? Thats pretty neat I'm just working in training for now. I'm a very slow learner :P
  11. Oh, shit, good thing you posted this, I forgot to tell my girlfriend happy valentines day :P
  12. I had no issues doing Lambda's cresent cancel combo in the air offline, online I seem to bluebeat it or not get it though, it was super easy offline though. Cookie, in CT I spent a stupid amount of time just doing lone TK's for a while. Keep doing them until you almost always get it. Then start using them in combos I recently got myself an new edition xbox controller with the upright dpad, SO EASY now! I'm excited to learn Lambda's combo's (Yes, I know, they didn't change THAT much). I think I gotta work on my reaction time and hit confirming.
  13. Yes, but a lot of the cast has to have a degree of respect. Like Haku, anyone with a dp, bangs guards, Hazama's godly pokes and 236236 etc. It's a little discouraging seeing japanese Lambda's lose once they're knocked into that corner
  14. It's not like she has any options unless she has 50 heat : / And instant blocking is in CS2 It's the same in Japanese gameplay too, once Lambda is in the corner its over. I know it sounds cynical and being nooby to point it out, but the consistent amount of Japenese Lambda's getting destroyed in the corner backs me up, sadly
  15. Beating me with your 5th main My blocking is shit. I was trying not to use a whole lot of 5D, but I was getting predictable with those back jump drives. I need some serious sessions with players
  16. I think at this point I'm just playing Lambda wrong. I was watching a bunch of vids, outside of corner lockdowns and combo's, they barely used her 5D. I kinda have to rework and relearn the character. It doesn't help that it's been so long that I don't rememeber too many combos, no point in learning them with ECS due in a week.
  17. I watched some Lambda vids, some american, a little bit of Emjay, random freakishly good Japanese players...and I'm noticing...outside of locking people in corners and combo's, I see that 5D is RARELY used and used VERY sparingly, if at all. Is this kind of common now? Is 5D kind of a no no now? I haven't been too crazy about the 5D mixups to be honest, it seems more like mindgames to add defensive pressure to players more than really landing a hit I know spacing with those j.2DD has always been huge, but it almost seems to have completely substitued for 5D's large recovery. Am I just completely crazy or am I imagining this?
  18. So, I guess I wanna ask...how viable and convienient would you say Lambda's higher damaging combo's are? Some of these combo's look pretty nice, but I wonder how easy to hitconfirm and spacing these moves will account for playing in the game. I'd love if Lambda's average damage was 4000+ damage
  19. Man, I am crazy rusty. I don't even really remember combos anymore. There's no point in relearning things since ECS is about to come out. Just trying to shake off rust Man, though, I'm trying to throw out every sort of mixup I can think of and I just can't land anything! It doesn't help my time away from this game's made my defense worse than ever It'll be fun to get back into the game for real when the new game hits consoles :D
  20. Her 2C having head invuln will be nice. Her oki is good, but it's not really what I'm talking about for online play affecting her. (I get it, every character is effected by online, I'm not saying it's just Lambda). Like I said, I'm very rusty, and I have my share of problems. I do mix it up but there's a lot I need to improve on, I feel like my bag of tricks gets predicatable after a few games. I'm just a little dissapointed how much more Lambda has to predict on online play than reacting. I'll never forget the world difference fighting Tager online v offline. Easier to break grabs, easy to IB his jabs, his sledge hammers, his kicks, easy to get away from. Online, jesus, I feel like Tagers land the luckiest hits. I barely took a hit offline in a bunch of games thanks to that awful matchup Lord Knight took me down town and crushed me, but I was happy to at least see how much better I could react with zoning and even blocking overheads and mixups. My execution was sloppy and needed improvement, my reaction time needed to get better, but I couldn't help but feel so happy that lag wasn't the cause for any mess ups. If I messsed up zoning it's because I didn't react correctly or just fucked up outright Basically, once ECS starts I'd like to play offline more, online is kind of a joke and it can only make you so good to a point : /
  21. Oh yeah, I understands lag hurts every player and character...It just feels so unforgiving since the neutral game from afar is Lambda's greatest strength. Her defense is a pretty big joke, just a super reversal, bad normals, bad pokes. She has her Counter Assault, but god it's awful. Her backdashes are great, but Lambda in the corner is lulzy. You see a lot of top Japanese players struggle and often lose once she's in the corner I honestly don't even know the point I'm trying to make, this is just a reality of online for every character, it's just a bit discouraging knowing how much easier it is to get in Lambda's defenses with all those missing frames from online connection; even 4 bar connection gives up a ton of reaction time available in offline play
  22. I haven't played in half a year so I've been shaking off some rust recently. Does anyone get really discouraged playing Lambda online? After experiencing some offline play, Lambda online and offline is a major difference. You can actually react to people and zone them better. Online it feels like you have to go way more on prediction and less on reaction. This part kinda discouraged me to play online for a while I mean, hell, the shit Tager gets away with online and offline is fucking huge. I have some pretty mediocre Tagers get away with dumb shit, but I played a really solid Tager, and offline, that matchup is a massive fucking joke, I couldn't believe how different offline it was. I dunno, I know the solution is, "then just play offline" but still...Lambda feels so crippled online (Probably like many other characters)
  23. How are people getting the corner combo's consisting of... ...5C>236D>214D>236C? I can get everything off until the 236C Also, how are you guys doing the 236C>dash>5C>gravity>5C>6C>236C? I had to make it so I only do a few 5C so that gravity won't push them so high up so that I can get the next 5C>236C off to combo into.
  24. TOAN, thanks for the tip about replacing some 6A's iand omitting certain 5C's and 2C's in the combo's! It's working SO much better, I'll gladly omit a few hundred points of damage if it means doing over a 1000 extra I havent had much time to practice this week, but the little time I had I was having some issues with the 236C>dash>2C's. Some of the space requirements with gravity and her C's are a little tricky but maybe I can just alter some things.
  25. Fuck Tsuka's Lambda, his sucks, every video I see of him is losing Na^ga is a way better Lambda and should be the one you learn from, way the hell better, he actually wins fights with Lambda I'm trying to learn some more realistic combos from his videos, the psp combo video doesnt seem to have realistic situations where all those tight timings can land It's a little dissapointing how much the Lambda forums are lacking, the other forums have so much more support, info and help on the character
