it's not that you're predictable with it [overhead], it's that you rely on it too much and being as slow as it is makes it very easy to react to or option select. use more frame traps and jabs and stuff to instill THE FEAR or just generally give people more than one thing to look out for. then you'll have an easier time landing it. you do get predictable with the unblockable though. There's lots of sneaking times to use it that I can show you.

Nirvana lives WAY longer than ignis, she has a ton more health and doesn't require carl to throw out a risky special to start recovering it. There really isn't any advantage he has over Carl, he's a straight downgrade.

On a related note, I think that Tager/Valk deserves a 3-7. Easily.

Tager is not the worst character, therefore this chart is clearly invalid. ...seriously though, I agree with Xie and would take this with a grain of salt until something more official is made.

I sure hope I don't regret this xD But I'm gonna post this here anyway. If some people want a place to stay for final round and have trouble affording it, I am offering my place up for crashing. I live about 20 minutes from the venue and have lots of space, an extra bed, guest bathroom etc. Just make sure that my boyfriend doesn't kill me for doing this.

I like how makoto's overhead is, like, the only fucking overhead in extend that can be emergency teched on air hit now that most characters got their overhead buffed. (・ー・) based on casuals matches, her new overhead is ridiculously easy to block now that it's so slow and should be used sparingly. her frame traps are way stronger. In regards to match-ups: Carl got quite a few buffs and is more solid than ever. I do feel like Makoto has some quite useful tools for dealing with his neutral game, however. I'd say 4.5 - 5.5 his favor just because his pressure is so good. Ragna is a bitch but may not be worse than 4.5. His DP is gigantic and his pokes are better but with experience and patience I know she can handle him, neutral game is tough though. Tsubaki is most likely even. They both play quite similarly except Makoto isn't meter reliant. I need to study the new frame data for them to really know. Litchi feels even for now. It may take a while for her character to develop, but her corner oki and midscreen abare got huge nerfs, like Makoto. Neutral isn't any different from CS2.

In regards to final round, blazblue will probably be the most significant friday tournament and funkyp will very likely stream it. Maybe guilty gear too? We'll see.

I got to play a bunch of matches last night at georgia tech. I did very well when playing makoto until I played against ivysaur and got my shit pushed in. Okay, well, it wasn't that one sided when he played carl/litchi/noel. But he analyzed how I was playing Makoto, started picking Ragna and kicked the shit out of me every game. I literally couldn't take a round off him. I'm going to start studying the hell out of this match-up to make sure I know how to handle it before final round.

To be honest, CEO is definitely a good target for injecting more Blazblue hype. They had drastically higher numbers than most average majors for BB and it was mostly just Florida players, and miami is still really damn far from most of them (plus as he said, it competed with revelations). BB didn't get streamed because the tournaments got behind schedule and SCIV took ass long to finish. Jebailey/CEO is totally legit.

Don't worry, I play makoto and tsubaki, clearly they are the worst characters in the game and I am free money. You know you want to.

Stickbug - you are awesome and I'm very glad I got to meet you at the past Final Round. I want this game to succeed SO BADLY, and now that I'm out of college with a steady job I will help hype the community in any way I can. I will travel to any major that gets hype, especially an anime EVO no matter where it would be, and drag any other players I can with. I completely support everything you've said. ignoring any vendetta against jebailey as I think he's pretty cool, I'd be disinclined for it to be at CEO just for the fact that the vast majority of the entrants were from Florida. Honestly the only players I can think of that traveled from out of state were ivysaur and I (2nd and 3rd) with the rest of my passengers. And Tokido, who didn't come for Blazblue and probably won't now that he can't derp to top 4 with noel. Swag.

I love this new tier thing on nicovideo, it's so useful. You're wrong about Tsubaki though, just sayin'.

I'm pretty sure that 5B > 5CC > 214ACB works on standing opponents. I did it a lot last night.

I finally got to play Extend with a few friends including Ivysaur (he went super easy on us since it was my first time playing so he didn't use carl). zomggg I love playing Makoto again, I'll probably go back to maining her. I was pretty disturbed when I realized that using 2A in a midscreen combo ever = 214A~C~B doesn't combo, wtfff. Still had hella fun and she still gets hella damage in the corner.

On a related note, I will accept any [non-outrageous] money matches for Blazblue. It will be my first time MM'ing and I totally want in on the fun :D Shinblanka - do y'all have any idea what the tournament schedule is gonna look like? Specifically, what day the Blazblue tournament and/or finals will take place.

Goro has the most amazing makoto ever, it's freaking inspirational. Anyone who still thinks Makoto's bad needs to study his matches and download his tactics. He makes Makoto looks like she's still S tier.

they're definitely NOT bad enough for their own tier, I mean, in BBCS tager and noel were C tier. They were waaaay worse off in comparison.

Your intentions are noble. I like it. Seeing Blazblue get cut from Evo should put a fire under everyone's ass. Our game is unbelievably hype and well balanced and fun and yet it's been CUT! We've been getting quite a bit more exposure than usual recently but it's still not enough, we have to hype this game into the stratosphere.

MK tournament was meh. REO is insanely good and it was fun watching his matches to second place. Everything else was just, whatever.
