  1. As Uri said before, she might be a charge character, but her gameplan doesn't really revolve around charges. She's a rushdown character at heart. Transition from Marvel to ASW games, huh? I guess you really shouldn't count on random hits being enough to kill a character or mashing c.L in X-Factor mode to do a ToD combo using an incredibly basic BnB lol. The long combos are there and I guess that using Personas is kinda like calling an assist in Marvel, call them at the wrong time and they'll get hurt.
  2. lol, that thing is so damn slow. Here I am blocking a barrage of those things but then the throw... can't tech the throw unless I completely read it lol.
  3. I beg to differ my good, absent sir. Star-Demon is living proof of that
  4. While all that may be true, you still can't deny the fact that some people learn at faster rates than others and then there are some who really are just talented. Still, having a positive mindset and learning from mistakes as opposed to just trying to win really helps. The bold... so fucking true and I can say it because back during the CT days, I did that. "Oh hey, I know a bunch of combos now, I bet I can win some matches" > Spends the entire match trying to land the various starters for said combos > Focuses on nothing but trying to land those combos > Loses the match I've also seen this throughout my fighting game life, seeing how people focus on nothing but combos and trying to be fancy instead of actually trying to win the damn match lol. What people need to do is just become incredibly familiar with their moveset (hit-boxes, frame data, properties, etc) before even attempting to land a combo. I learned the hard way but damn did I learn.
  5. Is that really what you think is holding you back? I mean, Omni was a pure netplayer until a while back and he placed pretty high in his first couple of tournaments. The same can be said about some other netplayers. Hell, even LK encourages netplay as long as you play people with decent connections. I know I've played better netplayers than what the offline scene here has to offer. tl;dr - You can get to a pretty good level of skill with netplay alone, just make sure that you're playing decent players with good connections.
  6. Yeah, take a look at the combo thread and learn as many combos as you can from there. It might seem overwhelming at first but in reality you just have to learn the Jin combo fundamentals... Mid-screen: Stuff > Sekkajin > 66 5C > 2C > sj.D > AD > Stuff Stuff > Sekkajin > 66 5C > j.2C > j.C > j.D > 6C > 214C Stuff > 6C > 2D > Sekkajin > 6C > 214C Close to the Corner: Stuff > 6C > j.C > j.214A > 44 5C > Stuff Stuff > 6C > DC > 214A > 44 2C > Stuff In the Corner: Stuff > DP B > 66 6C > DP C > 5A/5B > 5C > 2C > Stuff Stuff > DP B > 2C > 6C > DP C > 5A/5B > 5C > 2C > Stuff Stuff > (Delayed) 214A > 44 2C > 6C > DC > DP B > 6C > DP C > 5A/5B > 5C > 2C > Stuff Those are the building blocks in Jin's combos. Know these and you pretty much got must of his shit down. As for pressure, you want to use a lot of 2A, 5B > 2B/6A for the high/low mix-up, 5B > 2A/5B to reset pressure, 2A > 5C or 5B > 2C for frame traps, and jump cancels from time to time to either bait stuff, attempt a cross-up with j.2C or reset pressure.
  7. Don't wonder about what you're doing wrong, find out exactly what you're doing wrong. Remember, we all started out as scrubs. It's just that most of us strove to get better as opposed to just complaining and getting down on ourselves at every chance we could get.
  8. Mirage is not that good but I don't think I've ever see him complain, although he does admit that he's not that good.
  9. Well it's not like the P4A threads are all that lively either lol.
  10. I personally think that it's too "noisy". Besides, I'm pretty sure that most people can make out the difference between a normal, a special, and an OMC without the use of colors. I really only use colors in my combo threads to specify character specific combos or combos that require meter. That's just me though, lol. As for using Fire Boost mid-combos, I really wouldn't mind giving up some damage and meter in order to do ridiculous damage later on in the match with a Fire Break UB setup.
  11. It's not the same without the catchy music and the genki voices, also fat bald guy is fat and bald.
  12. Oh God, that guy pretty much ruined it for me. Never again, I'm done here.
  13. The first 3 lines are too hard, the other 2 sets are bearable. I've almost memorized the last 3 lines lol. Also, damn you Cake for casting this curse on us
  14. Yup, we'll find out eventually how it works exactly. The way I did the Platinum combo thread, I separated it into three sections being mid-screen, close to the corner, and in the corner. From there, I just added combos for every starter. I guess you could have a "meter-dependent combos" section as well, since there are quite a few combos that require EX Agi and her throw combos require either a OM (One-More) Burst or an OM Cancel.
  15. I was watching some Yukiko videos and I noticed that one of the air fans hits low, yup, it actually hits low. I'll try to find the exact video so that it doesn't seem like I'm talking out of my ass here lol. Also, <3 delayed Agi. Edit: Found it - www.youtube.com/watch?v=utg2HsQDWYk#t=0m36s I wonder why not that many people use Fire Break and Fire Boost. Fire Break looks like a good clutch in tandem with Maragidyne. With Fire Boost, I guess you'll either have to sacrifice a mix-up/rush-down opportunity after knockdown + delayed Agi or really look for an opening to use it. Erumo has the right idea and I'll look forward to seeing more from him.
  16. Fixed that for you lol Joking aside, I haven't seen that many Relius as opposed to pocket Ragnas and Tagers.
  17. I hope that everyone uses the formats he provided in the future, for the sake of consistency. That and everything is just so well organized and detailed.
  18. I'm also loving the option of manual-correction after a cross-up. Now everyone has a chance at attempting legit IAD cross-ups.
  19. Looks good so far, I'll have to steal borrow that format and use it in the Jin sub-forum when BB3 gets announced lol
  20. The primer is actually pretty well done and that section is the only one that I didn't quite understand. Good work, Kuru
  21. I already convinced him, and 50-50 sounds fair lol. @TD - Yup, I gotta play your Relius more often. I'll hop in one of your open rooms next time.
  22. In the morning might be best but maybe I could get lucky and not have people use the net in the afternoon. In the early morning is almost guaranteed that I'll be available.
  23. Sorry, I thought that the gameplay primer here would have most of the info I needed lol. Thanks though.
