A.X.I.S. Posted May 27, 2010 Posted May 27, 2010 jump IB=free punish... works on jin's all the time...but touche.
poiyo Posted May 27, 2010 Posted May 27, 2010 Whoa, I didn't expect so many replies XD Thanks everyone. one of the ways to practice fit confirm is to go to training and set the enemy to block randomly. as for pressure.... depends, on barrier you can (5C>2D)xN>6C>dash cancel> tick throw, 5C>5D>dash cancel>5C>JB>wait>JC>land>2B>5C>5D> tick throw etc. just set the dummy to block and just stay on him. also 236D is good pressure. I do know about the random blocking in training mode, but once it comes to playing against someone, it just goes out the window. I suppose it just comes down to having time to practice more. Also, about 5C > 2D, will try out the tick throw sometimes, I've had 2D IBed offline before so I stopped using it. Maybe in BBCS. also be unpredictable in what you do...that tager was mashing shit man. I couldn't tell if he was mashing to be honest. More paying attention, less playing on autopilot perhaps? You seen to have a habit of going for 6C off any freeze. Woot, I was looking for bad habits, probably stems from playing online and not having it punished often enough. Don't do something gimmicky like using a DP in your own block string (mainly during 6C), that is only showing that your thinking down on your opponent, also work on your oki. That's a hit-confirm fail on my part, I try to cancel 6C with a DP or 236B to avoid recovery and eating a combo. 6C shouldn't be used in a block string anyway right? As for oki options what do you do? I try to dash 2A on back roll, 5B/2B on forward roll, but I always guess wrong
OmniSScythe Posted May 27, 2010 Posted May 27, 2010 When I have them cornered I just use 2A when I see them roll since auto correct will make sure I catch them if they use the forward, if they like to stay grounded to avoid it then 5B once combo counter disappear. If their too far for 2A/2B/5C to reach then thrown out a meaty 5D. For the most part if your right next to them then 2A. Dash 2A if they quick tech a lot for a cross up. Try not to use grabs for oki since some character relies on wake up attack to escape pressure. (Ex: Tager uses 2C, roll 360A or AC and well 720.)
A.X.I.S. Posted May 27, 2010 Posted May 27, 2010 also poiyo quit doing so many DP's. infact when he sledges IB it so no matter what he does you can avoid and punish...practice buffering moves, it helps a lot.
smooshman Posted May 27, 2010 Posted May 27, 2010 also poiyo quit doing so many DP's. infact when he sledges IB it so no matter what he does you can avoid and punish...practice buffering moves, it helps a lot. speaking of sledge, learn what attacks you have that have projectile property, I believe for normals they're 5D 6D 2D and specials ice swords (duh) 632146D Tagers sledge goes through projectiles. also 632146C is a projectile but.... I don't think he can go through that.
A.X.I.S. Posted May 27, 2010 Posted May 27, 2010 tagers sledge only goes throw 2400 damage I believe so he can't sledge jin's C DD. but if your playing jin right then tager shouldn't get much of a chance to sledge and even if he does you can IB and mash out a DP. maybe I'll post my jin in this section soon.
Partialartist Posted May 31, 2010 Posted May 31, 2010 Figured I'd throw this up here. It's not the most exciting match, but the end has a CH 623C combo that I recently found. I black-beat it, but it's legit. Works on everybody. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=awAuqv5UpzQ
Leonil_Requiem Posted June 1, 2010 Posted June 1, 2010 enough with the zoning and get in that ass, you play a rush down character that can end block strings with 0 frame disadvantage. no one else can say that. and you air to ground pressure in convincible the best. more 623A, even on run-ins, it's a staple to his CH fisher style. fish out CHs with 5C 623A 5D 623B 214A stop moves with 623A 5B 623C (of coarse) 2A j.B And just get more active, he's faster than he looks, oh and you need better oki and combos. EDIT: j.D is rather situational, i not gonna say don't use it cause it stops your momentum which is good for some anti air baits when you learn to cancel clashes to you advantage. but for now, learn to manipulate j.B, it's flaws are far and few in between.
poiyo Posted June 1, 2010 Posted June 1, 2010 Going to give this a try too. Please correct me if anything's wrong Not sure why you threw so many hishokens, it's not a very good zoning tool and hard to follow up with anything except for the drive versions. In the corner, if you see she is going to use 13 orphans, tech roll forward to get out of the corner, otherwise tech neutral and hope you can block all the stuff she throws at you, watch for an opening and get out. Her staff return will hit you if you roll back or forward I believe. I also agree with using j.B more, it has a larger horizontal hitbox than j.C (which you used a few times to hit her out of her jumps) and is also easy to combo off from. Also, learn Jin's oki options (they were detailed a little above your post by Omni ). You could bait DP if she has staff, otherwise don't be afraid to get in her face on wakeup.
OmniSScythe Posted June 4, 2010 Posted June 4, 2010 I was only uploading a combo for a friend but I might as well see if I need to work more in another area, subs are making me regain bad habits. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m7E-MybnXug http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8Mg29pGkCQ4 Critics are welcome.

I guess I just don't understand those moves.
OmniSScythe Posted June 4, 2010 Posted June 4, 2010 The j.B > 6A thing was just as random as it looked. Not sure what I was doing after those JA's whiffed also, usually it could be using as a reset/pressure tool.
A.X.I.S. Posted June 4, 2010 Posted June 4, 2010 omni does that to punish mashers...I seen that shit work a ton.
koun Posted June 4, 2010 Posted June 4, 2010 omni does that to punish mashers...I seen that shit work a ton. ^this
cj_iwakura Posted June 5, 2010 Posted June 5, 2010 Probably a stupid question: can replay data be taken from the PS3 for upload to youtube? If so, how?
Moy_X7 Posted June 5, 2010 Posted June 5, 2010 5B>5C>JB>JC>JD>5C>JB>JA(whiff)... I guess I just don't understand those moves. He did j.B > 5B > 5C > j.B > j.C > j.D > 5C > j.B > j.A, if you play Jin for long enough then you might get a feeling that the second j.D might whiff or the 214B might not combo since you didn't start this combo off 5B. That's how I feel in most cases when I don't start this combo off 5B so I too will just go for the j.B > j.A (whiff) > reset, you'll be surprised how many times I've gotten free combos off of that little gimmick. Most often it comes from people crouching as I go for a j.B > 5A (whiff) > j.B but other times it's just as Axis said, people are mashing and they get punished for it. I did like that j.B > j.A (whiff) > dj. > j.A (whiff) > j.B cross-up so I'll be borrowing that Those were some very entertaining Jin mirrors, with only a few mistakes or random occurrences, (mainly that random Sekka-Jin in the second match), good stuff from both players.
Nov Ganon Posted June 23, 2010 Posted June 23, 2010 hey since CS will be here soon n i just play CT for fun now why not post sum vids feel free to criticize but remember its all for fun - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bnyvDOjfRwQ - just practicing on sum resets tell me what u guys think - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=032kobrHnxQ - this was just a random lulz match PS im on my uncles GT
xlolxlolx Posted June 23, 2010 Posted June 23, 2010 Good job blocking bursts but work on general blocking and your throw>214A>5c also you could've reseted him multiple times in the corner since he obviously doesn't know how to use Hakumen's counters, at 1:17 on the first video you should've went for j.b>j.c>jc>throw since he didn't look like someone who would be able to get out of a purple throw.
Nov Ganon Posted June 23, 2010 Posted June 23, 2010 thanks man but u know how it is online with grabs
Wing Posted June 26, 2010 Posted June 26, 2010 hey since CS will be here soon n i just play CT for fun now why not post sum vids feel free to criticize but remember its all for fun - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bnyvDOjfRwQ - just practicing on sum resets tell me what u guys think - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=032kobrHnxQ - this was just a random lulz match PS im on my uncles GT i only watched the rag fight but this is what i noticed too many purple throws, try not to do that so much cause those are easy to tech and if they do, u lose ur pressure game don't do 236d to continue pressure, it's a total waste of meter. just do a regular j.b a little too much airdashing, that rag could've easily 6a'd u out of it that's all i can recall thinking
Roldy Posted June 28, 2010 Posted June 28, 2010 First time I'm posting a video of myself playing...it's BBCS by the way. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pK4bk_zu-7U#t=3m25s This is a tourney, so I was a bit nervous (especially against Tager...) Lots of hit-unconfirm, lol. Definitely need to work on hit confirm...

I really like how you did a ninja yukikaze after getting GETB. Not much I can say in terms of improvement, just work on yomi and hit confirm, but those are things we all have work on.
Deadly Base Posted June 29, 2010 Posted June 29, 2010 You could learn to apply new CS tricks and use more j.236s especially against a tager. There are also tager specific combos that jin can use.
