Alright guys lets figure out how to take this bitch out... so far all I've figured out is that the best option is to rush her down and take her out asap but.. getting in is the problem. Serious just mashing D for her seems to be enough. I've had some success with the ice car but there are options around that.. her 6D stops it pretty easily I believe When Jin gets knocked down I'm clueless on what to do next her block strings are just so effective

The match is a bit annoying but it really is a test of patience. All your moves have quite a bit recovery so its reckless to just throw out 5D or 5C things like that. The entire match is about getting in slowly and when in making it count. -ALWAYS Barrier guard in the air when jumping -5D when you and her are mid range and she is near a coner. Her backdash/6D can stop all your mid range stuff. -BLOCK. Her swords do very little guard damage and even chipp. Block carefully. Do not be impatient during the match. Even if it takes 15-20 seconds in a match to even get in do it because 2 combos and she is dead. -Instant block all swords if possible. Build meter while you are trying to get in. -Her backdash can stuff so much crap on wakeup or even mid block string. CAREFULLY gap your attacks together so even if she backdashes you can keep up. -All her long range block string on the ground are usually the in the beginning. 2random low hits and she will either overhead/low wheel. Just block that correctly and you'll be fine. Without meter she can continue pressure much after one block string because she is bad at gaping things together. Most important thing in the match is to be patient.

Jin is actually one of the better matchups against nu I think. someone want to confirm/deny?

I would say yeah. He's quick and does a lot of damage with his combos. That alone gives him a slight advantage over a lot of the cast vs nu. Still she's a whore, fuck that whore.

jin's matchup vs the top 3 are all 5-5. but on topic darkhonor is right. get in asap but also be patient about it. the match gets very drawn out because once you do get in on v-13 they'll just burst and it's back to square one. whenever you are jumping in be very careful that you don't get hit by 2c because it will hurt.

Nu mainer. Patience is key, fought against one of the top ranked jins (pomesama) and the dude just kept blocking and poking with 5D til I croaked. IAD also works pretty well if you're close enough to the ground, seems to be a dead zone for nu 5d and 6d.

man I need to get my execution up.

Right now it's balls. I can't do full damage when I get in XD

The trick to getting your execution up is hours and hour of training mode, and never compromising for the easier option while practicing or in a match. That's how I moved mine from shit to okay.

Practice is the best thing you can do. I know when I was on duty the other day and w/o internet access I just went through arcade mode on the hardest setting and when I got to nu.... I spent a good 45 minutes just working on her. Her defense is insane and getting in past those swords is a pain!

I'm going through a replay of his (pomesama) vs. an arakune and man he's a nasty Jin.

Pomesama is Ren

It's not confirmed but Dreadz and I compared his playstyle to Ren's videos and its almost identical so it's very likely.

"Alright guys lets figure out how to take this bitch out..." Haha, I love how I opened this thread and this the first thing you see. I know the feeling to well. I've played many Nu players on line and I practice against the Nu computer in training on the 100% difficulty (which is definitely a workout.) Some things I picked up: Rushing her is the plan of course. But if you can get her frozen......holy crap she is done. Depending on your level of rush down of course. Cause get this, she doesn't really have that "Get the hell of me!!!" move. I feel her attacks are not great counter moves up close. As you freeze her, mess her up a little, its hard for her to recover when you mix your rush and freezing tactics because she can either go full offensively or block. She can't really counter. She has a hard time countering up close. Similar for Rachel too. But getting close to either one is the freaking issue.

I second that. Most people have plenty of experience vs. Scrubby Jins, so you really have to give it your all, to make Jin truly shine. I've caught Nu off guard with my Tager because he's just unpopular enough for me to catch some Nus by surprise. But that's no longer true going into our 3rd week of BB.

Jin's eventually going to be my back-up for Tager, because he really needs one for the likes of V-13 and other zoners. I spent several hours in training mode with Jin (all my BB time) on Sunday, practicing my combos against Carl. Jin's most useful combos seem to be pretty damn tough at first.

Ganna agree like everyone else ruch her fast. What experience i have had with Nu players is they have little care for actual blocking when they attempt to sword combo(spam) you. By the time you build a little meter *mid-air* 236D can get a hit and freeze almost everytime. By the time she is frozen keep it that way to the end of the match:keke:

That's incorrect, that just means the people you are playing don't know how to block. Blocking has nothing to do with who you play. Nu is annoying because most of the things she does is really safe (assuming you are not just mashing). If you let these players just do what they want, they look semi-coherent. But if you apply any pressure to them at all, they crack and start mashing on 5a/2a or whatever pokes they have. That's inexperience in playing defense. Need to understand that it is ok to just sit there and IB for a little. There is no harm in letting the other person block string you, just be patient in looking for an opening to escape and punish.

Once Nu get's her zoning game you have to be patient and block her strings (IB them is preferred but scrap that if you have any input delays in an online match). Patience is a real virtue in this match and you can just rush wildly against a new player that really knows what they are doing. They will smash most of your attempts at getting in close so you have to find your openings or force them to go on the offensive when they realize their block strings don't work. I cannot stress how important it is to exercise patience in this match up and knowing how to block her strings. Worst part about Nu is that her block strings/combos generate good Heat for her so even if you do pressure her with block strings she can expend 50% heat on a dead angle to push you away and then reapply her zoning and gain that meter back. With my experiences with the match up it seems oki games plays a big role in dealing with Nu. While guessing right in an oki game helps in all matches with Nu it seems to be the best way to guarantee getting in close and dealing some good damage off of a tech recovery relaunch.

Look for the opening when nu does her 5dd 4dd scythe combo, between 5 and 4. You can get out a ice wave inbetween those. Works wonders when you two are both down to a sliver of health.

Pop out random Ice Cars. It'll work, cuz while she's D spamming, you run her ass down. Or use the ice truck (321d).

This is a truly pro strat, be careful though, the reason you don't see it at high-level play is that it's soft-banned in Japan.

Ice car/truck's soft banned? Why?
