So, if Carl tries to do his Gear super and misses, what's the way to punish him? (Assuming the Gear is between you and him.) Can you just Shippu through the super or something? Or would the Gear interrupt and hit you? I haven't tried because I don't want to get myself killed.

You can shippu through the gear, yeah. If you do it early, you can do fully charged shippu, too. Seeing it shave off 3/4th of Carl's bar is a thing to behold.

but wait i play DjFOODSTAMP alot and carls whiffing gear moves he can still operate Ada i remeber once i tryd this and ate a fucco for it. :( though the reward is greater than the risk i agree with you Sophisticat. but when i fight Dj i become severely careful (which isnt me im a violent haku...) so if he whiffs Gear DD i just 6C plus it hits Adas fucco too. just a safer option. but question... whats a safe way to get out of carls throw loop? when i break his grab Adas clap stops me from recovering. love to hear some advice.

break the throw and then do j.D or hotaru

why are carls still trying clap loop on hakumen? he has much better combos he could be doing...

If you can predict Nirvana (Eda, whatever you want to call her) you can get a nice Yukkikaze out of it. My friend that plays Carl does a lot of pokes with Fucco which is easy to read and I use it for free counters if he forgets. But once you get one or two normally they'll stop using fucco so it'll be more difficult.
