BladeOfJustice7 Posted March 27, 2010 Posted March 27, 2010 Sophis, you're the best person to train him among the hakumen players here, you sub with litchi and you're on psn too:eng101:
Sophisticat Posted March 27, 2010 Posted March 27, 2010 Haha, more like I suck with Litchi. She's not easy to be effective with. But yeah, I guess I am in the position of being good for training. Psycho, I'll take you on, but it'll have to wait until later this week, if you're fine with that.
MisoSowee Posted March 27, 2010 Posted March 27, 2010 Btw Kenshuma is just a Litchi player. you'll meet a lot of people like him (heck I think most of the people on DL are like him, just not to that degree) the people on the rankings online aren't bad, but they're definitely not the best, some aren't even remotely close. I can't really explain it without offending anyone, but it's just that they're just tired of online which is a joke. (which is somewhat true, but there's still a limit) Is that your Q? :o

It'll be a great way for you to improve with litchi then and by so doing you'll improve my ability to play litchi as well And yea miso online is a joke ESPECIALLY with "lolcalamitytrigger", it's just use it as a way to kill time. Online is only good for match ups, other than that it's just for fun and to kill time. Real opponents>online opponenets. What is the connection with this kenshuma guy psycho?

SimpleKiss Posted April 1, 2010 Posted April 1, 2010 pscyofang2: A few things to know about litchi. Trying to outpoke her is death. Her moves beat your moves. It's just the way it is. Litchi's mixups are amazing, and any random hit you take will carry you to a corner. Litchi is destructive in the corner game situation. I do not like 5/6/2D Unless you're playing reactionary to something she's already stuck out. One bad counter hit and you eat another combo and you still are not out of the corner. Try not to roll tech from a knockdown. doing rolltech -> Renka may work a few times, but a good litchi will just ruin your day and you wasted the meter. Learn to TK hotaru. Good litchis will jump kara cancel into your face, and your 6A will clash with her j.B if done right. So she is in your face. Hotaru is much more reliable. Especially if she is doing kara dash cancels. Litchi has kara throws (canceling a move to make throw range longer.) Be aware of this at all times. 5A, 2A, and throw are you friends in this match. Litchi will throw supers at you to get you blocking and in the corner. All of her supers are mids (AFAIK), so block what litchi is doing. The biggest holes in her block string is when she goes for the overhead. I like to block low and look for jumps/overheads. If she jumps, and you are on point, you might be able to get her with a TK. Hotaru. On offense, hop/tk tsubaki are your best options. I wouldn't jump in litchi's face. Bad idea. never go air-to-air with litchi. She will punish you for it, and most of her options in the air beat yours. The only time you should meet litchi in the air, IMO, is if she jumps close to you, and you are at a distance you can airthrow (your best option air-vs-air against her, imo. Well, that and hotaru.) REMEMBER, her pokes beat yours, so your gameplan should be to look for openings and punish hard. Be defensive because you wont do dick to her without meter. That being said, in 3 combos she does to you, you do the same to her in 1 combo. Be patient, block it out, be ready to tech kara grabs, and punish that hoe for poorly spaced jump-ins with 6A.
MisoSowee Posted April 1, 2010 Posted April 1, 2010 If she has her staff, though, sticking out 5a will stuff a lot of her B and C moves, especially after IB
SimpleKiss Posted April 1, 2010 Posted April 1, 2010 If she has her staff, though, sticking out 5a will stuff a lot of her B and C moves, especially after IB that's why I said 5A is your friend in this matchup.
MisoSowee Posted April 1, 2010 Posted April 1, 2010 *facepalm* my bad That's what I get for not reading it thoroughly :x
psycofang2 Posted April 12, 2010 Posted April 12, 2010 oh question because i literally see every litchi use her BnB combo. idk what it is... it takes all the way across the ****ing stage then corner rapes you till the game feels sorry enough to let you out... then you get trapped... again... im asking what are the literal moves to look out for? the starters of this death combo... **** you litchi but i <3 you.
TyrantShark Posted April 12, 2010 Posted April 12, 2010 Honestly, a good Litchi can knock you into the corner off any hit confirm. It's not AS lopsided, but approach this match the same way you do Nu; tough it out and wait for an opening to punish.
Sophisticat Posted April 13, 2010 Posted April 13, 2010 ^ Match is 5-5, 5.5 - 4.5 at worst, whatchu talkin' 'bout? Not lopsided in any way. But yeah, approach kind of like Nu, though Litchi will try to get in more since she's mostly a zoner through her combos. Block low always. Watch out for 6a with staff, and 6c without; those are her overheads. From the air, she wants to land j.B, preferably with staff, but she'll hurt you staffless regardless. It has more range with staff, so watch out. In the corner, she'll rape just about anyone, but you have the benefit of counters if you know what's coming. Wait out for her combo to finish, then block low. Punish with 6b -> kishuu under for a "reversal" -> corner combo if she goes for a low, counter the overhead (likely 5d to her 2nd hit of 6c), and TK hotaru if she goes for an air hit. Yukikaze punch super or practice like mad to block what's coming because you're otherwise stuck. Not much more to say here. Just don't get caught by her regular starters, know your options for getting out, and punish her for trying to get in a hit.

qwerty Posted April 13, 2010 Posted April 13, 2010 i've always thought it to be slightly in hakumen's favor
Sophisticat Posted April 14, 2010 Posted April 14, 2010 What does Litchi have? Range? We got range too. Zoning? You have to be hit for that; some of her string are vulnerable to counters on IB. Mix-up? It's only scary in the corner, and you have ways out. Yeah, I don't see it not being even. I'm not sure being able to limit her game means we have the advantage, so that's up to debate. But it's 5-5 to me.

But it's 5-5 to me. haku-men have counter's which ruin's everyone's oki game. his mix up's are strong and it's not hard for him to get in. and the same rule of if she has no staff! rape that pussy applies as well. i'm pretty sure ryokalways can go into a deeper explaination.
TyrantShark Posted April 16, 2010 Posted April 16, 2010 I've always felt at a disadvantage in this fight purely for the fact that any hit she lands leads into massive damage. Sure you can say Haku has X, Y, and Z for this match but they are all defensive options in a game where playing defensively neuters your offensive capabilities. Like most of his other match-ups the amount of work and footsies you have to put in to get a solid opening is far below that of your opponent. This has always felt like one of his uphill battles to me. I would have said this was a 6-4 nine out of ten times.
qwerty Posted April 16, 2010 Posted April 16, 2010 this matchup isn't so much what hakumen has, but rather what litchi can't do. in short, she has to play this matchup differently than most, and it's to her detriment because she loses two of her biggest strengths; range and mixup. hakumen can play this matchup like he's fighting jin and do pretty well (only litchi is much less scary, especially if she has her staff). just do the rounds; ib shit and counter from there when the moment's right (hint: litchi with staff has like, two gatlings), keep her on the ground by doing your hotaru/air throw shenanigans, and keep the pressure on when you can. of course, what (mostly) evens this matchup out is that litchi still has a great oki game; even if you can mash hotaru like a boss, she can still keep you cornered if she's smart. edit: second half of this post is a nice summary of the matchup.
