10stars Posted July 30, 2009 Posted July 30, 2009 Maximizing your damage in furinkazan, learning how to play him in furinkazan, and being SAFE with him in furinkazan is an instant 10 as far as hard goes in bang install mode. Regular bang? probably a 1 in comparison to guilty gear or any other fighter. overall a 5, no one in this games hard to use.
HurricaneDennis Posted July 30, 2009 Posted July 30, 2009 FRKZ doesn't come into play unless you really want it to. So it shouldn't affect the difficulty to "learn" Bang so much. I mean, if you know you can't control Bang in FRKZ (or the match-up doesn't call for it - even if you are GDLK with Bang in FRKZ, you don't always want to do it), then you don't need to do it and Bang is still formidable enough without it to make it necessary to learn. You gotta be quick at times, but then again, who isn't that true for?

You gotta be quick at times, but then again, who isn't that true for? It's a tool that's meant to be used. If you're learning a character, you're learning the character. The question isn't "How hard is it to learn and play the character the way you want to play him". The question is how hard is it to learn the character. Truth be told no one in the US has even come close to learning everything about bang. Furinkazan is one thing, but during regular play, bumper use is avoided because it's too hard for people to get used to. The mixup off of bumpers is crazy, but hardly anyone practices it because it's hard to judge things by eye and be quick enough to use them and know when its a good idea and when it isn't. The same thing can be said by that, bumpers only come into play if you want them to. In that same sense it's like someone asking how hard it is to learn bang when you only know his one bnb and no regular character specifics or other combos. Just because they only come into play when you decide you want them in play doesn't have anything close to an effect on how hard the CHARACTER is to learn. And Bang isn't scaling too high on the being formidable without everything he has part, or he wouldn't be the second worse character in game.
HurricaneDennis Posted July 30, 2009 Posted July 30, 2009 i hear what you are saying, i just meant if you say he is a 1 without FRKZ but to learn just FRKZ is a 10, i don't think it's a big enough part of his game to average that out to 5. you are right, you have to learn the whole character, but i don't think bang is in the situation to use FRKZ as high as 45% of the time. is this a valid assumption? i think i'm just a little confused about what all these learning curve threads are trying to accomplish, what process you should use to come to a number, and what exactly these numbers are supposed to represent. i mean, are we judging the characters solely with respect to other BB characters? if that's the case, i think bang is one of the easier characters. obviously, i choose to main him because i think he's easy to use. is that because he's empirically easy to use or is it because i "get" how he's supposed to be played? if we are judging Bang on some absolute scale, that's something else altogether.

Since the OP didn't clarify, i just went with how i felt i should answer it. I didnt answer like "OMG guyz! If we want to play like dora bangs a 10!" I answered it as how hard bangs strategies, combos, bumper use and everything else go. He's probably a 6 tops, including everything he has to learn overall. Bumpers, combos, setups, frkz. The game simply isn't deep enough for anyone to get a 10.
10stars Posted August 2, 2009 Posted August 2, 2009 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vJqW8bnOEhQ Me playing XAQ's Jin twice then Alzaraths Rachel. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_J32k4uXSkc And me playing Kirbys Noel a few times.

Strider Chipp Posted August 2, 2009 Posted August 2, 2009 Hey guys I having problems with the combing 6d into fire punch. What the secret. I know you have jump cancel it but how?
Justice7541 Posted August 2, 2009 Posted August 2, 2009 Hey guys I having problems with the combing 6d into fire punch. What the secret. I know you have jump cancel it but how? Jump cancel, then cancel the jump. Most people do either 9623B or 6239B. I prefer the former, do whatever works for you. You can actually buffer that jump anywhere in the input so long as you do it fast enough. You could do, liike, 6923B or even like 6321473B. If you're still having trouble, try to figure out what you're doing wrong. If you're just doing the 6D and empty-jumping, or doing a jumping j.623B after the JC, you're probably doing the 623B too slowly. If you're just doing the 6D and nothing else, you're probably doing the input too early.
zeth07 Posted August 2, 2009 Posted August 2, 2009 Hey guys I having problems with the combing 6d into fire punch. What the secret. I know you have jump cancel it but how? The tip that worked for me was holding 9 as 6D came out. I've been getting the Fire Punch to come out much more consistently that way.
RPGsFTW Posted August 2, 2009 Posted August 2, 2009 10Stars, your videos are great. Definitely an inspiration.
10stars Posted August 2, 2009 Posted August 2, 2009 kay, uploaded the alzarath matches: Part 1: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YN_kLBFbI_o Part 2: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lC8HMtCheiI We went even most of the night, but all around always ggs.
DaiAndOh Posted August 3, 2009 Posted August 3, 2009 I'm totally blaming you now as the reason I lost to Alzarath in tourny last Sat. Screw him being a better player than me!
10stars Posted August 3, 2009 Posted August 3, 2009 I'm totally blaming you now as the reason I lost to Alzarath in tourny last Sat. Screw him being a better player than me! That was the first time I played alzarath in BB, we only played GG against eachother before today. :] Even though this isn't bang specific, me and Mike Z have been working on a video, and Bang players can benefit from watching and learning this tactic: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QLihwTbGTiA
rambo4ever Posted August 3, 2009 Posted August 3, 2009 what I've been doing for the Fire Punch is: hold 9 for a split second after 6D comes out, then slide to 632143B. it works for me.
KowtowRobinson Posted August 3, 2009 Posted August 3, 2009 I've figured out how to do it with the normal tiger knee motion finally, you have to do the whole thing mad late, after the 6D hits. If you're just getting jumps after the 6D, try doing pawnch later. Being mostly a 3d player before this and not having any real GG experience, this drove me up the wall at first lol.

Kinda like the Ultras in SF4 that take priority over others.

AtTheGates Posted August 3, 2009 Posted August 3, 2009 cool as hell. in HNK, you can do a motion before a superfreeze, then hold the button for a reversal, but this is even better.
Strider Chipp Posted August 3, 2009 Posted August 3, 2009 I have another question how long does it take too improve your reflexes or reaction timing. I have been practicing very hard lately and I know this that my hand starting to hurt and shake sometime when I'm finished playing. {I play with arcade stick} Whats is happening to me ? Opinions everyone.
Elstraim Posted August 4, 2009 Posted August 4, 2009 Is it because of Daifunka's invicibility at startup or some other special factor?
Elstraim Posted August 4, 2009 Posted August 4, 2009 The time it takes kinda differs from person to person. But the hand-shaking thing is pretty normal. It happens to me too sometimes during matches, and I think it's because of the adrenaline. :p And my right thumb usually feels pretty tight after extensive online gameplay. (Using a PS3 controller).
DaiAndOh Posted August 4, 2009 Posted August 4, 2009 Is it because of Daifunka's invicibility at startup or some other special factor? Yeah, the invincibility.
