HurricaneDennis Posted September 8, 2009 Posted September 8, 2009 iw2wa, do you ever throw out a b-nail by mistake? if i am using a stick, i tend to go with 923B. on pad, i do 9623B. rei-Scarred: in training mode, figure out when you can hit 9 to buffer the jump and make sure you hit the DP after the kick connects (like you can do 9, 623B if that makes sense - you can hit 9 earlier than you probably think). if you are getting a j.B, maybe try the DP sooner (or maybe try the whole motion sooner) it takes reps to get into a groove and figure out what is most comfortable for you.
iw2ma Posted September 8, 2009 Posted September 8, 2009 no i don't ever get the nail, i've been doing that move a lot, as rei-Scarred knows lol, i may spam that combo but i hit that shit
KowtowRobinson Posted September 9, 2009 Posted September 9, 2009 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_aN14fF10b0 Did anyone post that one yet?

AtTheGates Posted September 9, 2009 Posted September 9, 2009 there's a new, great combovid on wonli (wonderful life) but i forgot the link to the site. if somebody has it, poste it plz. - has some really great combos, including 2-hit B-shuri setups (and some ideas i wanted to use for my CV as well :/) - also has some familiar stuff we discussed here before, like 623B CH against ragnas SRK, then combo into super ^^
rei-Scarred Posted September 9, 2009 Posted September 9, 2009 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_aN14fF10b0 Did anyone post that one yet? lol quadruple crash combo on carl nice.
dgowen Posted September 9, 2009 Posted September 9, 2009 The video has some neat stuff, but I think someone posted in the comments section about how it has a few too many 'purple exclamation point' throw combos that are kind of hard to connect I posted a couple new videos of not only my quest of learning Bang, but also my trials and tribulations in trying to learn to play with a stick. I've been at it for about 2 weeks now and I think I'm coming along alright, it just gets quite frustrating when I mess up dashes, air 236's and most 623's. Costs me matches far too often when I look like a total idiot and jump straight in the air only to land and get my face smashed in by a combo... or when I go on my jumping in place drive attack rampages that are about a screen length away from the opponent... meh, I'll get better... I really like it beacuse I could never TK all that great on a pad This first one is a fun, not serious, Bang v. Bang match, I actually manage to start doing a decent FRKZ combo in the second round, I'm really trying to implement that into my gameplay: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BAHGFfWMDB0 The next is against a Noel. Again, pretty frustrating, you see me jump in place a lot in this and eat an attack of some kind, simply because I cannot air dash very well: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pIeV4b5n-rs Both kind of show me I need to work on blocking and not always try and squeeze in a Drive attack. It's not worth losing 1/2 your health bar to finally land a 2D combo of some kind.
AtTheGates Posted September 9, 2009 Posted September 9, 2009 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dr2DiMTUBWw here it is. best bang combovid so far imo. done by master (masutaa) Bang. enjoy.
DaiAndOh Posted September 9, 2009 Posted September 9, 2009 Hmmm...that vid (it's great, favorited before) now I'm thinking....new throw combo possibilities? Referring to about 1:14
AtTheGates Posted September 9, 2009 Posted September 9, 2009 yeah RCing the first throw hit is so simple that we all never thought about it i guess ^^ as the vid shows, it could be great for 5D combos against those chars where 5D, jD works.

Could 2d be subbed in as well? And is 5d, jd, due to tech time, not hitbox distance? If so maybe the throw part helps with that.

Isn't that the same combo vid from HaruShinobi: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WCjTrVpq8FI It was posted in the Combo Thread I believe by Skane. Along with this one: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gYXoDV1MLHg&feature=related Could 2d be subbed in as well? And is 5d, jd, due to tech time, not hitbox distance? If so maybe the throw part helps with that. 2D is possible. It was on the list of all those combos on the BlazBlue zetaboards that were taken from the japanese wiki. Any Throw > RC > ↓D > JD > ↓B > →↓↘B [2200] I've been trying to make my own Combo listing against each specific character, and I've only been working on Ragna but this is what i've gathered or at least tested myself. From Regular Throw: (50% Heat) (B+C)-RC Immediately-2D-j.D-2B-623B = 2234 Damage – 2 Seals (50% Heat) (B+C)-RC Immediately-2D-j.D-2369C-5D-j.B-dj.B-dj.C = 2708 Damage – 3 Seals – Uses 1 Nail – They Tech in Mid-air Afterward (50% Heat) (B+C)-RC Immediately-2D-j.D-2B-623B-Dash-6C-j.623B-(2C) = 3015 (3289) Damage – 2 Seals (B+C)-Before Hit-236C-2363214C = 3472 Damage – Uses 1 Nail (100% Heat) (B+C)-RC Immediately-2D-j.D-2B-623B-2363214C = 4399 Damage – 2 Seals That's all i've messed with, i'm sure there are a lot more options. Also if you get a regular throw in the corner for whatever reason, you can let the throw itself hit and then do a 2369C and go into a minor combo against certain characters. Instead of canceling (Not RC) the hit of the throw and doing 2369C like you can. But that's probably already been discussed, or people don't bother since they rarely do regular throws, or if they do land one they just do j.623B afterward....
KowtowRobinson Posted September 10, 2009 Posted September 10, 2009 Empty jump oki isn't that good, if you play a skilled opponent or someone with sense they know they can backdash anything from the air with ease or just jump and block to avoid a high low or throws. bangs j.c sure isn't like baiken for oki. Is it possible to react to this and air dash after them if you're on point? I wouldn't know since I fuck up pretty much every single thing I try to do, but just for theory's sake would good players be able to do that?

ShoNuff71 Posted September 12, 2009 Posted September 12, 2009 Okay--this is a noob question, but I can't get the hang of it. What is the timing for Bang's shuriken special dash combo string? I searched this thread but didn't see anything on it. Is there a frame in the move that I need to look for in order to keep the pressure going? Thanks for any help.

Well its not a necessary combo string, its a block string. Make sure that you are doing 2369D not 236d. The string going 5a or 2a 5b 2b 2369D. Right after you do 2b then do 2369D. Also you can pracitce doing 2369D by itself so that your muscles can remeber. Make sure when your in practice mode that you put the computer on block everything. This is my best advice and remeber never give up if you love what you are doing. Keep practicing.

TheDarkWall Posted September 15, 2009 Posted September 15, 2009 This best combo video kinda makes me sad. I mean from what I remember from GG, the more depth that went into your combos the more reward you got, but allot of this stuff just seems horribly impractical and doesn't do much damage, especially for the tension usage. I mean I enjoyed watching it and all, hell I may actually learn some of those just to add some flash to my game, and their were a few good ones in there, but allot just seemed like stuff that would be worthless in a fight. Is their something I'm not seeing or understanding here?
LAMG Posted September 15, 2009 Posted September 15, 2009 new video up http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2ncZdjAGDMU recorded while playing thanks to my new ghetto splitter: http://img11.imageshack.us/img11/3103/hpim0501y.jpg

No offense but you're pretty much button mashing.
AtTheGates Posted September 15, 2009 Posted September 15, 2009 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pk3LeVvfpHo http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QDgop0C9x3c vids of tim119, probably the best european bang (asian exchange student afaik), from SVB, which took place in london last weekend. from what i heard, he lost to some basic arakune player =( but took out the best nu there.

No offense but you're pretty much button mashing. yes i am aware of that, i do mash some inputs but that is becouse i have to start doing the commands way ahead to compensate for my weak left hand. i have recorded myself playing and explained some of this on this video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eFj-ksVcafM and part 2 is up 2 jins and a noel http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1u5GxRq2H3U 90% of those j.d where to be 236d:vbang:

zeth07 Posted September 16, 2009 Posted September 16, 2009 I usually don't post my individual matches since the link to my Youtube is on the 1st page, but I actually want to get critiqued so I know what I should work on, since I've kinda hit a wall with where I want to go next with learning stuff. datboy4916 (HA) vs zeth07 (BA) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-6DxAqKALbw *datboy4916 lives in CA and i live in MD so there was some minor lag so i might've kept combos simple* Kurushii-kun (HA) vs zeth07 (BA) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6OMGoqjMyOk *Kurushii lives in FL so the lag wasn't really noticeable, I was basically trying anything I would normally in Training Mode.* zeth07 (BA) vs MisterBadguy (RA) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s243qTO2wXQ *MisterBadguy lives in MD so lag was non-existent really.* zeth07 (BA) vs Ragna5B (RG) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zt9mosPBUFo *Ragna5B lives in CA and I live in MD so there was some minor lag so I might've kept combos simple.* zeth07 (BA) vs renegadewolf9 (NU) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dlSK7ofJ-E0 *renegadewolf9 lives in CA and I live in MD so there was some minor lag so I might've kept combos simple.* If anyone ends up watching them, I could really use some overall strategy tips. How should I block certain attacks, things I should've watched for, stuff like that. Not necessarily using better combos.
