How'd you pick your main?

Haha I can't remember if I've mentioned why I main Ragna in this thread yet. Oh well. In the Smash World forums, someone made a reference to the Jin vs. Ragna matchup being an awful close resembalance to the Marth vs. Ike matchup in Brawl. I main both of those smash characters them but I honestly though Ragna was a lot more badass looking of the two. My favorite color is red, and Rags is an S-Tier shit talker.

How bout them apples?

I'm not really sure if I main Jin or Ragna, seeing as I generally flip flop between them at the drop of a hat. But..I blame SSBB (and Guilty Gear, where I mained Ky and played Sol every once in a while) for that, sorta like Wolt right up there. XD Plus I like his Drive ability a lot.

I main arakune because i love me some crazy pudding, and I sub hakumen because he's hot as long as he keeps his mouth shut =3 plus specials that all link into each other make easy combos easy =w=

a) hes weird (like Zappa and A.B.A.)

b) he has a great variety of pressure and zoning

c) mirror matches are awesome

Sticking with Ragna now because I NOW JUST GOT THE ABILITY TO DASH.

Nothing seems scary anymore and combos just seem to flow now (even though my 5B connecting blow from GH fails 7 out of 10 times)

First time I got the game, I only used Ragna because he was easy to use. Then I chose Bang ONLY because of his main theme, Gale.

Well, well, I guess I decided to try the mighty Tager after several months ago realizing that Astaroth was my best character in Soul Calibur IV after reluctantly giving him a shot. Upon obtaining Blazblue I tried out Tager and loved his power, magnetism, and SCIENCE. Plus I love Kokonoe with great intensity, so, yeah. I was also trying t main Noel as I love her very much as well and she seemed to fit me. Her light and quick moves and mobility come in hand against opponents that my Tager simply can't reach.

I mained Potemkin and used Testament as a alt in GGAC so I use Tager and alt Rachel.

I main Jin in CT because he got ice on his wrist and his ride is ice cold.

Sub Ragna because I like being able to combo off of a dp.

Sub Bang because he's a ninja with a command throw.

Main Hazama in CS because I like IB -> DP for 7k.

Sub Ragna because I like 45 heat loops.

I started off first with Noel because I liked her design I guess for a short while but later moved on to Rachel because I liked her play style more (and I'm a sucker for vampires and lolita characters ). I wasn't not so used to fighting games at the time so I swapped around somewhat until I finally decided for Nu whom I've used ever since. Swords and robots are awesome

And I'll definitely main Lambda in CS.

I actually kinda bought Blazblue on a whim because I thought it looked cool and thought Ragna seemed pretty badass. So I chose him as my main and just straight hammered everything down and pretty much didn't use anyone else, still really haven't except for Hazama.

Which brings me to my new main. Chose Hazama at first because his air combos looked fast and badass. Plus the chains are just cool. He's just overall a cool character I think. I choose the characters that appeal to me most aesthetically and fighting style wise, not due to how balanced or imbalanced they may be.

I picked my mains based on the first impressions i got when i saw them for the first time. That goes to Noel and Litchi.

Originally my main was supposed to be litchi because of boobs and similar jam gameplay. Then I remembered i sucked at playing GG and found out that I picked one of the harder characters to main so i switched over to sum iron tager because the combos don't hurt my brain.....only my wrist...

I picked Litchi as my main long before I bought CT, or had even played it. I looked at each of the characters and their drive abilities, and decided that Litchi would be a fun character with some depth to her. I had assumed that staff placement would end up being a large part of her game, and she'd probably be a high learning curve character with a nice payoff. I found that staff placement really didn't matter (since most of the time you want to hold onto it except in combos), but I loved her oki game, and I love locking people down with Great Wheel and Thirteen Orphans.

For CS, I'm picking up Tsubaki because once again, I just like her drive ability. It's interesting having two meters to manage, I like doing unblockables, and I liked her in CT's story mode, as she was the serious, more leveled headed one of the three NOL girls.

I really can't say I have a main. I pretty much suck with everyone although even then there are some characters I will never like (Arakune. Just... no.). I think the main problem for me is I just haven't really found someone who just 'clicks' with my play style you know? Plus with CS around the corner I don't have the motivation to learn somebody in CT decently. Here's hoping I manage to find my main in CS.

See, my other problem is my lack of fighting game experience. Only thing I've really played before BB that could even come CLOSE to being a fighting game is Smash Bros Melee/Brawl where I'm a decent Marth and one of the best players in town.

But still, Smash Bros is a whole other game compared to these 2D fighters. Oh and please, just call me Drill. It's easier that way.

When I picked up the game I was thinking Arakune was gonna be my main because he seemed kinda oddball like Zappa in GG (and I thought Carl looked pretty cool too) but they just didnt really click. Then I ended up picking up Tager out of nowhere and falling in love with his style. He's got some pretty cool mindgames for a heavyweight character, and 360's and 720 are just sexy. Nu became my sub after I made a point to learn her to see firsthand how broken she was, and i never realized how interesting some of her more complex combos are.

Can't wait for CS to come out on the 27th, I'm itching like nuts to get my hands on Hazama...

I might switch from being a Jin main to a Tsubaki or Makoto main.

I just don't like his CS style as much anymore.
