Digital Watches Posted July 9, 2008 Posted July 9, 2008 Hm.. sounds like you could 360 degree it and be faster? Nah. 9191 and 7373 are theoretically faster, since with a 360, you're only hitting 1 direction at a time.
bucklemyshoe Posted July 9, 2008 Posted July 9, 2008 I put the analog stick on the palm of my hand and rub back and forth as quickly as possible. I also usually have FRC set to L1 so I tap that with a free finger on the other hand that is holding the controller.
yukichi Posted July 9, 2008 Posted July 9, 2008 I don't mind. Anything to help my practice partners works. (There are few good players here in the summer, so it is pretty hard to get good practice in if the people I normally play with don't get better). Though we noticed that I usually start my instant kill activations when my opponent is in the air, and instant kill as they are getting up off the ground. At this point my friends usually just put down the controller and give me dirty looks. As far a I know, mashing doesn't work until you hit the ground. In this situation, they have about the time it takes for the instant kill to start, until it hits to mash out. As I usually don't get into the situation of being dizzied in the air, can you begin mashing/wiggling even before you land on the ground to avoid being destroyed?
4r5 Posted July 9, 2008 Posted July 9, 2008 You can mash as soon as the angels appear. Thankfully, this isn't Third Strike. Mashing on D-Pad, place your thumb horizontally across the left and right arrows. Then use your other hand to rock the controller up and down, underneath your thumb.
excelence Posted July 21, 2008 Posted July 21, 2008 1question, i know ground blocking increase hit box size... i'm curious, does SB-ing increase the hit box even more like Mid Air SB?
Rome Posted July 23, 2008 Posted July 23, 2008 2 questions. What is the "Survival Borderline" (I think it has something to do with the tiers)? And HOW THE HELL do you burst from a BBU,BBU,BBU,BBU,j.k,2K,j.D combo? Its ridiculous. I had a Slayer today with almost no health, and I'm here with about 50% of my health. He did that damned combo and killed me for the win. I tried to burst right when he did it, but even though I was hovering over his fist, the burst wave didn't reach him,and he just 5H'd into another BBU and little finish for the win.

You've got to burst while you're falling, before you go flying again, where you're sure you'll hit him. Remember that BBU has some upper body invuln. The best time is probably right when you get hit by it. Also, tell your friend that combo sucks. And "Survival Borderline" refers to the line in a tierlist after which characters become unusable. I disagree that one exists in AC. 1question, i know ground blocking increase hit box size... i'm curious, does SB-ing increase the hit box even more like Mid Air SB? Yes, as demonstrated by the SB Testament's web trick, where you SB before the web can actually hit you.
Rome Posted July 23, 2008 Posted July 23, 2008 Yeah, I probably could've done it a BIT later, but I didn't trust myself enough to burst a few frames before it hits, and it still seemed like I would catch him, but thanks. That upper body invuln is nice to know......I should have just eaten the second BBU for the guaranteed knock away. I had the upper hand anyway. = \ Ah, it makes sense now......thanks. And wow, most Survival Borders end at about 1/3 of the whole character list. It makes you appreciate GGAC much more.......
excelence Posted July 24, 2008 Posted July 24, 2008 @DW : thx, ugh i should've done the same testing like mid air SB first before asking

stinkymonz Posted August 3, 2008 Posted August 3, 2008 Is there a particular reason why sometimes when FRCing Dizzy's 2H you'd get an RC? Is it a glitch, since frame data says the FRC window starts on the first active frame?
zer0kage Posted August 3, 2008 Posted August 3, 2008 Nah you're doing it abit late. That's all. Just be faster with the inputs. 2H FRC over and over requires some mashing innit mang.
Digital Watches Posted August 3, 2008 Posted August 3, 2008 Is there a particular reason why sometimes when FRCing Dizzy's 2H you'd get an RC? Is it a glitch, since frame data says the FRC window starts on the first active frame? Aye, sounds like a personal problem. Your timing is off. More specifically, it's late.
stinkymonz Posted August 3, 2008 Posted August 3, 2008 I remembered someone saying something about FRCs becoming RCs for moves like Dizzy's 2H and that it was a weird glitch. Hence why I had asked, so someone would explain it; but eh, must've dreamed it or somesuch.
Koozebanian Fazoob Posted August 3, 2008 Posted August 3, 2008 I dunno if this is still true in AC or not, but in older games there was something on moves where the first FRC frame was on the first active frame of a physical hit, if you FRCed too early you could actually get an RC during the FRC frames. You could do it with Baiken's j.D and Potemkin's Hammerfall among other things.
rtl42 Posted August 3, 2008 Posted August 3, 2008 baiken's j.D goes active on frame 9, and the FRC window is from frames 9-11, so you should (and i'm pretty sure, can) still do that.
Blade Posted August 3, 2008 Posted August 3, 2008 · Hidden Hidden I believe it's an ongoing problem with many "contact" based FRCs. Such as Ky's Javelin, if you're one frame off and it hits it's an RC.

Apparently, we're talking about a situation where you're NOT one frame off, but still get an RC. Being off in your timing and getting an RC is, again, normal and expected.
低姿勢 Posted August 3, 2008 Posted August 3, 2008 Certain moves take priority over all others. So you can RC and then still FRC because you still have to full fill that other move. Pretty simple really. You can also actaully FRC the "same" move multiple times. Just a matter of figureing out what it works with thats all.

Please explain it
rtl42 Posted August 4, 2008 Posted August 4, 2008 he did, it's in the first sentence. what would be more interesting to hear are a couple of examples in AC, to get an idea of where to start. although, i think one example is something FS recorded in #R: Ky does aerial stun edge, which had an FRC upon landing (back then), but then does a falling j.H that connects with the opponent. If you time it right, you can do a 75% RC + FRC: the RC comes from the j.H, and the FRC comes from the air stun edge, which was still "accepting" or "waiting" for a possible FRC.
