Kuuhaku Posted November 25, 2009 Posted November 25, 2009 At least j2C seems to combo on CH. That's... uh... something. But yeah she used it way too much. Probably forgot how unsafe it is on block now. There were a few times where she threw out BBL when TD would have been a better option. Other than that and she kept running into random DPs. It seemed like that Jin player had a harder time keeping up pressure, but I can't tell if that's because Jin's pressure game got nerfed or if that Jin player is bad. I think it's weird as hell that 6A can combo on regular hit, but is tough to combo on counter hit outside of the corner. 3C9D looks like it blackbeat. Is the timing more strict or can we really not do that anymore? She did another 3C combo, but the non-wind version. As far as I know that combo only works on Jin and maybe Hakumen. 3C (three hits) 5A 5B air combo.

I can see myself making all the same mistakes as that Rachel when I try playing the game. 3c9d did blackbeat. It was really tight timing in the loketests, so I'm hoping it's still in, but we'll see. Interestingly, the Rachel player actually blackbeat the 3c (3 hits) 5a 5b air combo setup the first time and instead landed a valid 3c (6 hits) 5a 5b air combo. I didn't know you could do that. 6a CH combos into 5b, it looks like. Doesn't seem to be a huge issue. Haven't seen anyone miss the 5b followup into air combo yet, so I think we'll be okay there. Won't be able to do 6a CH -> 6a32146c combos anymore, though.
Kuuhaku Posted November 26, 2009 Posted November 26, 2009 I've seen a few people miss it. Either the timing has changed or it's just overall harder. I think Kro made an observation about it somewhere, but I'm a little lazy to dig it up. As for that combo, yeah, you can do that. When I first started out, I didn't know any combos so I would try to do that but it only works on Jin and Hakumen and the timing is a lot harder on Hakumen.
Lastblade Posted November 26, 2009 Posted November 26, 2009 6A into 5B you need to either dash forward or just walk forward a little bit to be sure on some characters. If you do that, it'll hit fine. Been testing that a bit today. Also, I've gotten 3C9D 5A 5B to work 2 times for a valid combo but the timing is extremely tight. it seems its no longer 3 hits. Not sure how many hits it was when it worked but 3 hits tended cause a black beat.
Kuuhaku Posted November 26, 2009 Posted November 26, 2009 Is that on regular hit or on CH? But with 3C9D, in that case the number of hits might be specific per character. Or if you're testing on Jin and Hakumen, it can combo without wind, so you might be doing that instead.

Or if you're testing on Jin and Hakumen, it can combo without wind, so you might be doing that instead. Most of the time on regular hit I'm moving slightly forward, on CH it seems fine to just time the 5B normally. Most of the combos I've been doing have been done on either Arakune, Hazama, or Tsubaki since those are the people I tend to wind up playing consistantly when my turn comes up. None the less, more testing to be done.
Tari Posted November 26, 2009 Posted November 26, 2009 I always dash forward off my 6a in CT, so I guess I just didn't notice the difference in execution between the two games. Gah. Go figure.
choysauce Posted November 27, 2009 Posted November 27, 2009 As far as I know it still combos. There wasn't anything about that not comboing, after all. There was some confusion in one of the other threads as to whether you could still combo from 6b, but that was because of a misunderstanding about the changes to the 6b CH. edit: I take that back. It seems you might be right about 5b not comboing directly into 6c. Need more confirmation on how that works, though. yeah, i just assumed it, because i felt like there were many opportunities to use that to get an opponent into a corner, but i didn't see people attempt it, can't wait till Arcade Infinity gets it, at least I think they're gettin it

Lastblade Posted November 27, 2009 Posted November 27, 2009 I don't remember who asked for it, but I recorded (although somewhat poor quality) Rachel's arcade mode. Had to wait till after closing to get this since thats when people finally stopped playing. I ran out of time towards the end so the part of Noel appearing isn't in it. No real difference between Rachel's and anyone elses by that point though, guess the only difference is Rachel standing there looking up instead of another character http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jSbttAmNXcQ
ssj2jeff Posted November 27, 2009 Posted November 27, 2009 is it me or did all the japanese players just drop rachel. theres plenty of footage out there but little to no rachel players. i know some of the nerfs are pretty significant but that doesn't mean new stuff can't be figured out.

A lot of people have dropped Rachel. Not everyone. I mean, it's not like everyone goes to arcades with the purpose of recording their matches, right?
ssj2jeff Posted November 28, 2009 Posted November 28, 2009 I mean, it's not like everyone goes to arcades with the purpose of recording their matches, right? good point. i still find it disappointing how little Rachel footage there is.
Lastblade Posted November 28, 2009 Posted November 28, 2009 I'll record rachel matches this weekend (not gonna have sound though ). See how that goes anyhow.
EvilWolf Posted November 28, 2009 Posted November 28, 2009 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i5yZ4879ABw Lobelia bounces when it absorbs a hit. George has a health buff as he can survive being hit by a lobelia (meaning he has more health than CT George). 6A looks harder to combo off of in general. 6A link to 5B on normal hit misses a few times in this video. 1:53 has an interesting combo 5B CDC 236B IAD jB jC air iris land jC. Last time I checked jC can be comboed into BBL, but I'm not really sure if it'd do any noteworthy damage. Kinda interesting to see the variations in gameplay though. Blue Rachel is better at using the traps and Pink Rachel is better at combos. At least Rachel still has some versatility. 2:45- example of 5C C wall bounce into 5C C. Doesn't look like it can be repped more than once outside of the corner because you have to dash forward to make it continue. 5C C wall bounce also looks like it could have a lot of potential for Rachel. Shortly after you also see 5C C wall bounce sword iris air combo. I tried playing Rachel on CS yesterday and judging from what I see the combo at 1:53 will be one of rachel's main combos in CS.

Soniti Posted November 29, 2009 Author Posted November 29, 2009 Yeah it's the same one I posted but on youtube. The player was trying so hard but Rachel is just so bad now =/
metsuke Posted November 29, 2009 Posted November 29, 2009 That vid doesn't really tell us anything; both players were mediocre at best. The match would have been a hell of a lot uglier for Rachel if Uate had played OKA instead of Kyasutaa.

Lastblade Posted November 29, 2009 Posted November 29, 2009 lol, ya... Kid viper has been timing me out constantly >.> Anyhow, that's my youtube account. Gonna be recording more matches tonight. Gonna see if they'll let me direct feed from the machine or not to get better quality and actually have sound lol.
