Who told you that?

It's a bad match up for Tager, but not 7-3.

6-4 at worst, I say the 5.5-4.5 was on the money though.

you'd don't even need to IB to win this.

IBing just makes what is normally semi safe/safe into something completely 720 punishable.

you can 720 5A>5A.

have fun with that.

I'm definitely getting better at 720ing, still got a ways to go though. Stupid stick. I think today was the first time I managed to actually 720 someone's blockstring and not fuck it up. And then I quickly followed it up in the next round by baiting out a DP and getting AC instead of 720. =(

It's clearly just me being a bad, but I get locked down pretty hardcore by Hakumen in the corner when I don't have meter. I keep trying to punish his shoulder block move on block and end up getting a sword to the face.

You can't "punish" that move. It's like his most unpunishable move. It stuns you for far too long to do anything but block. Just don't hit buttons if you block his 6A.

you still have your fundamentals tofu, I was impressed with the first tager ditto, you honest to god got me.

that second one I had you beat from the start though.

also for your haku-men try to get comfortable with your space, you wanna liberally throw 4C/j.C out and make it feel like I am walking toward a moving brick wall.

Thanks man, those were some fun games. I kept trying to back dash your 5Ds and punish with something, but I kept getting caught instead lol. And I'll keep your advice in mind, thanks. We'll run some more matches soon, I like our smooth connection.

K, I'll remember that. That's what I was figuring anyway, but nice to have confirmation on it.

Hakumen's 6A is +5 on block, so any button you press afterward will get stuffed. If you think he's going to follow up with a poke, try MTW or 720.

I was trying to see if you were reacting to my 5D's or trying to yomi so I started throwing them out at different intervals, I do the same to mac...I am sure he does not react just predicts or pay's 5D's 20 active frames save him.

also j.2C>5C is not airtight...never do it.

My Tager is reaction based, so my Tager + netplay = more free than usual.

I tried to react to Axis's 5d's but I kept getting slammed as well, you would think 23 start up frames would be enough for me to hit back in time :/

vs haku-men.

IB more, use better footsies, if you jump don't press buttons.

don't sledge ever in a blockstring.

galileo's setup is J.C whiff>J.D if they roll you can 360B, easier if you spin the stick and hold it to see them roll then press B, otherwise use high's or lows.

the haku seemed mediocre to me.

don't settle in the corner ever...I'm done with the first vid.

for litchi: if she has staff block high her lows are slower and all the dangerous stuff comes from overheads, j.b will overhead you and she can do 5A into it.

if she is staffless block low because her lows are fast, even then watch for j.b it will overhead you while your blocking low.

don't get hit.

don't sledge in neutral.

don't spark when the staff is near you, it will always stuff you.

yeah fuck litchi.

Against that Hakumen, there were multiple times you just...stopped in the middle of a combo and didn't finish it off for magnetism or anything. Don't know why. And once you got a fatal counter, while you had a spark bolt, and you finished it off with a jC whiff>j.2C>GF instead of doing something with it. And I don't know where the random super jump j.D parts were coming from, but almost every time you did one you could've done one more AC whiff>whatever you want>AC, and then done it, but you didn't.

I think he just remembered the sj.C j.D setup wrong. Also, depending on how your combo progressed so far, you can't always get solid oki (GF, corner 5B4D, corner 2D, or sj.C j.D) if you combo into another Collider since in certain situations they can tech in the air after the 2nd Collider. You can go for certain setups rather than solid oki in those situations though, and your opponent might not tech after the 2nd Collider anyways so you can still pull them in for either one of many reset possibilities or just GF them for not teching.

i did JC whiff>J.2C>GF because 5B would whiff against hakumen.

anyway i'll get more vids and explain more when i get back from school. thx for the advice axis. :keke:

Good god, they put that up?

I was hating everything and everyone during Season's Beatings, mostly due to not sleeping for 30 hours prior to it and then The TenStars Effect which pretty much meant no sleep during the event. I don't remember that entire tournament at all, haha.

Oh wait, I remember losing, even though I had already beat Kyle before (had sent him to losers'). I also remember being kind of a dick afterward - I didn't mean to, Mr. Kyle! So, I'm going to watch the video...

Um, in a nutshell, he sleeps and you don't. I'd room with him again, cuz he's awesome - just with earplugs. (^.^)'

Alright, I watched it. For those of you who don't know me, round 1 was me checking to see how much he really knew about the matchup, haha...and hey, I got a perfect in the middle there, that's uncommon! LordKnight was so nice on commentary, I blushed a bit. Still lost though. :^( I'm glad I didn't play worse, honestly...

Clearly the most epic Tager match of the weekend wasn't recorded.

Here's a spoiler. It involved mashing 2B from fullscreen and then a spark bolt clash FADC taunt combo FROM BOTH TAGER PLAYERS.

Not that he needed it, but Kyle had quite a bit of experience in fighting Tager. I'm pretty sure he played me, AXIS, and a few other Tagers on Live a lot. That couldn't have hurt...

Also, isn't that purple grab > j.A x n trap the gayest thing ever?

lol that match up made me hype.

I was kinda sad when mike lost in the end.
