SweetJohnnyCage Posted May 10, 2010 Author Posted May 10, 2010 Hey all, here's the latest scoop. Due to recent events, Joe and myself have decided to end our business relationship with GPX gaming. Because of this, they will no longer be providing us with setups, nor will we be guaranteeing a plane ticket to GAMME. Big Eric from Philly and his crew are going to be covering the setups Manny from GPX had originally promised us, so nothing is really changing. Also, Smash has been removed from the tournament roster for a few reasons. Mainly, there has been a lack of response from the Smash community due to costs for them to come out. Also, Manny was supposed to provide us with setups and a team to run Smash, but that's no longer possible. ========== The list has been updated to this post from all forums. We're up to 120 people in Super SF4 alone so far! I'm going to start adding people to the event in Tonamento so we can get a total count of the amount of heads coming down for the event. I do have some other exciting news though! ========== Nick/CasperOne from www.sf4answers.com has kindly donated another $250 to the Super Street Fighter IV bonus pot! That brings SSFIV up to $750 in bonus money! Thanks, Nick!! ========== There are about 17 nights available in the room block so if you haven't already, please be sure to book a room!!
Vyers Posted May 10, 2010 Posted May 10, 2010 You missed me Nick; I'll enter GGAC and SSF4. Originally I was also going to enter MBAA, but I've had like zero practice in that game so I'm going to pass it up. Vyers - NH
SweetJohnnyCage Posted May 13, 2010 Author Posted May 13, 2010 OK guys, I've updated a few things in the first post. As stated earlier today, rooms must now be booked via the hotel's booking manager Christa Nayyar. Her phone number has been added to the first post. She is the ONLY ONE who is able to give the room at the discounted rate. If you try to book in any other way, you will pay $119/night. The rooms are first come first serve and there are 13 nights left in the block, so act fast! I have also added a tournament registration schedule just above the pre-registration lists. Since most tournaments start later in the day, their registrations won't be ending until much later. Please check the first post for all of the details. I will also be making a stream schedule for those who can't make it. We're aiming to stream every single game on Sunday, so it should be pretty fucking hype!
Mindgam3 Posted May 13, 2010 Posted May 13, 2010 Just throwing it out there, but you ought to make a note that Gold/Shadow/EX characters are banned for tournament use in Guilty Gear in the Tournament Rules/Scheduling section. Also, I'm not quite up to date with Tekken 6, but I'm fairly sure that Azazel and Nancy are banned in that game. Everything else looks impeccable, you're doing an excellent job!
bbq sauce Posted May 13, 2010 Posted May 13, 2010 It ain't even necessary at this point. It's like the "winner keeps same character, loser gets option to switch" rule. Everybody knows this shit by now.
St1ckBuG Posted May 13, 2010 Posted May 13, 2010 It ain't even necessary at this point. It's like the "winner keeps same character, loser gets option to switch" rule. Everybody knows this shit by now. Except for LK. He straight up switched characters after winning, just for the hell of it. I had to tell him that he wasn't allowed to do that. I couldn't tell whether he was joking or dead serious.
kona Posted May 13, 2010 Posted May 13, 2010 Also, I'm not quite up to date with Tekken 6, but I'm fairly sure that Azazel and Nancy are banned in that game. Those two aren't selectable characters so I think they'll be alright.
bbq sauce Posted May 14, 2010 Posted May 14, 2010 Except for LK. He straight up switched characters after winning, just for the hell of it. I had to tell him that he wasn't allowed to do that. I couldn't tell whether he was joking or dead serious. Same nigga who'd be picking Arc Earth if people let him get away with it. edit: IIRC, there were no teams for any game last year.. Will teams tournies be run at all this year?
