shezmu Posted January 29, 2010 Posted January 29, 2010 Okay, how much money being given to who does it take to bribe SBO into putting your game on their roster? Cause assuming that SBO would still be in business, this would be useful info for when I need to advertise my games. Seriously, what the fuck is Sengoku BASARA X doing at SBO? Capcom does realize that everyone who sees this event will see how shitty the game is, right? :psyduck::psyduck: Note: Darn site won't allow me to post the amount of psyducks necessary to convey my emotions.
axel Posted January 30, 2010 Posted January 30, 2010 The main website states that there will tentatively be more game titles announced in April for SBO, so games like MBAA may make it in the end.
Kyosuke Kagami Posted January 30, 2010 Posted January 30, 2010 Oh wow, 3 games from Arcsys (lol I thought SBX was... interesting, until I saw some of its really broken shit)
so moe kona Posted February 3, 2010 Posted February 3, 2010 Am I the only one who noticed that the magazine said: BLAZBLUE CONTINUUM SHIFT SNK PLAYMORE ?
Kyosuke Kagami Posted February 3, 2010 Posted February 3, 2010 SNK's best business decision yet! ... my senses to detect sarcasm don't exist at all. What? :0
HeartNana Posted February 3, 2010 Posted February 3, 2010 There's 10 games this year as opposed to past year's 9 games. I assume they know SBX will be small, so I doubt that it took the spot of other games. If anything, it was probably like "we can just squeeze this in" rather than "This game over Melty"

HeartNana Posted February 3, 2010 Posted February 3, 2010 Maybe the company in charge of it didnt pay arcadia enough money and realized their game is still mad popular and will get a ton of play regardless of whether it's in SBO or not.
stunedge Posted February 25, 2010 Author Posted February 25, 2010 Update on Regulations: Category A: 32 team tournament Category B: 8 team tournament I guess there will be no foreigner teams for Category B games Also, Arcadia has announced they MIGHT add more games into Category B, so there might be more games to be added and will be announced around April (I suppose KOF13 might be there)
blueNINE Posted February 25, 2010 Posted February 25, 2010 I guess there will be no foreigner teams for Category B games What?! I really hope that won't be the case...
Shinjin Posted March 8, 2010 Posted March 8, 2010 There will be 16-teams for all Category B games (16 players for Basara).
Hellmonkey Posted March 8, 2010 Posted March 8, 2010 Shouldn't change too much in terms of entertainment value. 32 teams 3v3 is huge.
axel Posted March 8, 2010 Posted March 8, 2010 There's a chance that many big names won't make it to the finals since single elimination can be random. IIRC players like FAB always only manage to qualify in the last few qualifiers.
ElvenShadow Posted March 12, 2010 Posted March 12, 2010 im glad to see they upped the ammount of teams to 16 for catagory B. 8 was too little IMO
frcflyingjohnny Posted March 19, 2010 Posted March 19, 2010 SBO can never take place soon enough. I'm very glad to see GG still there. I hope that big players still enter it even though it's not one of the big titled games.
ElvenShadow Posted March 22, 2010 Posted March 22, 2010 they will, ive already asked a lot of top players and they say they plan to enter again

I hope that big players still enter it even though it's not one of the big titled games. I hear more people play GG than BB. Might be different now that CS is out, but if it is, then it's the 2nd most played game, right?
ElvenShadow Posted March 22, 2010 Posted March 22, 2010 its hard to give exact numbers of how many players play each game, but both games get played and there certainly isnt any shortage of GG comp. Mikado has 9 GG cabs now and they were all full this weekend
ElvenShadow Posted April 5, 2010 Posted April 5, 2010 so the official quals schedule is now up on tougeki.com... im glad to see that even though the category B games will only be getting 16 spots, each block will have way more preliminaries, so in a sense, the tournament isn't even getting much smaller, its just that less of it will take place on the final day. Some blocks have as many as 6 to 8 preliminary spots, so it will be interesting to see how they handle the block finals. All block finals used to work round robin style, but with that many teams, I dont imagine they would have time for something like that. Anyone have any more specific insight on how they will plan to play out the block finals? I checked on the site but didnt notice anything about it. Did I miss something? In any case, I am pretty hype about going through quals again this year. Is anyone gonna come travel to Japan to try and qualify now that theres no international spots?
mooyang90 Posted April 5, 2010 Posted April 5, 2010 I hear more people play GG than BB. Might be different now that CS is out, but if it is, then it's the 2nd most played game, right? From what I understand of the Arcadia rankings, they're total bullshit and only take their data from a small amount of arcades. Here's the real rankings SFIV is definitely S tier in terms of numbers and is way ahead of everyone else Games like BBCS, GGAC, AH3, Melty Blood, VF5R, and Tekken 6 are all fairly popular and have relatively the same population. Everyone's tied for A tier here. And then there's dead games like Daemon Bride and TvC.

Lastblade Posted April 5, 2010 Posted April 5, 2010 We had SBO qualifiers this last weekend in Houston. Winners were: SF4: Winchester/Adeel/Mauricio BBCS: Kid Viper/Kensou AH3: Kid Viper/Lastblade Are there not any other international spots?
