cookiehours Posted June 28, 2011 Posted June 28, 2011 Today is the first time that i got a pm from someone in psn complaining how irritating it was to play mu after he lost twice in succesion when he was using noel . Probably because none of his 2d and 4d mashing were succesfull and i was running away the whole time, so he could not get too close all the time. But i was suprised that she can slightly zone noel if you are in air above her optical barrel range He shouldn't even complain. It's his fault he was reckless. >_> I usually get flamed for the way I play Lambda so I feel ya on the Mu thing.
SolarMisae Posted June 28, 2011 Posted June 28, 2011 I played a Noel once and all i did was stay full screen and set up 5D > 2D > j.D > j.2D over and over and over, then when he tried to run in I just used Tsunugui to throw him fullscreen again and went back to what I was doing. =3=; It was funny. I didn't get flamed but mostly because this Noel is my friend. He didn't know how to fight Mu so I trolled him during our first match. >>;
C0R Posted June 28, 2011 Posted June 28, 2011 Dudddddeeeee. This is some good stuff. I'm so.... out. zzzzz.

C0R Posted June 28, 2011 Posted June 28, 2011 Doin great, but been on the road, haven't had a ton of time for the internetz. Working with Aginor to gets stuff done though.
bakahyl Posted July 3, 2011 Posted July 3, 2011 i only noticed it today that you can end her 5c or 6c with an astral , when i messed up doing 3c.
YukiBlue Posted July 3, 2011 Posted July 3, 2011 (edited) I played Mu for Giggles today, Touched her once in CS1 and put her down without thinking. But today, I almost fell in love with her. I've seen Mu gameplay and was like "Awh hell naw" But damn, I love her now. Like, almost in a freakish Waifu kind of way. Love Mindgames, I love setting "Traps" Placing Steins intricately to fit a strategy, overwhelming opponents, turning Steins into "Airmines" She is such a rare sight online, people have no clue what to do. I played around 70 Matches with her today and loved each one. Even when a got bodied by entry level Ragna's and Noels trying to learn moves, I loved it. I'm going to sit down and learn some Combos with her tomorrow, mainly for 2B which seemed to hit a ton. Finally, I've found a character I enjoy playing for fun. And not for winning...Maybe both? Holy god damn I think I have a new main. T_T /Blog Edited July 3, 2011 by YukiBlue
SolarMisae Posted July 4, 2011 Posted July 4, 2011 YES a new member in the league of Dat Ass. And I definitely agree, Mu is the most fun character out of the cast imo. She takes a lot of work but she's worth it. I did the same thing. Messed with her and never gave it another thought till one day I decided to try again. Then fell in love. ^^
pochp Posted July 4, 2011 Posted July 4, 2011 Welcome! If you're looking for videos for knowledge from JP players, I recommend watching both Keba and Sakuma, they're the ones that use Mu's tools the best IMO. (in terms of specials, stein placement, setups, etc.) The first post hasn't been updated in a while so just look at the latest pages of the thread for their "recent" stuff.

YukiBlue Posted July 4, 2011 Posted July 4, 2011 Much love for the friendly welcome. Thanks for the JP recommendation. I'm going to spend my work leave so damn productively.
C0R Posted July 4, 2011 Posted July 4, 2011 Yo god damn. I think I can get 8k off 5b. But I won't know until I get back. Hmm. Unless someone wants to try... (Corner crouching, array of 4 steins in place) 5b > 5c > 6c > SoD > 6b > 6a > j.2c > j.5d > 2b > 5c > 2c > j.2c > j.5d > 2b > 5c > 2c > j.2c > Dash 3c > 632146d > j.2c > (3c?) 632146c

Guardian Posted July 4, 2011 Posted July 4, 2011 I too, wish to join the ranks of DAT AZZ. Only b/c this might be my only chance to use venizzy....err I mean Dizzenom.....or whatever. I play lots of runaway and corner rush with her; are there any matchups when I shouldn't be doing that? And why is Noel so cheap? I love this character though. Not enough to make me give up valk though. ^^
pochp Posted July 4, 2011 Posted July 4, 2011 Maybe I'm doing it wrong, but against Hazama and Lambda I try to play RTSD, and against Litchi and Hakumen I play spacing, but only once my opponent has shown me that he can effectively shut down my run away game. (which has only been the case with LK's litchi and zidane's hazama so far, for their respective chars, most decent lambdas and hakus know how to do this correctly) Corner is always effective, although getting tao and hazama there is a pain (well arakune too but it's not really needed). @C0R: I'll try that later today.
YukiBlue Posted July 4, 2011 Posted July 4, 2011 Has anyone made a list of Optimal/Go-To combos for Mu? It's always a help when I have something to mold around a playstyle. Which, is mostly run away, force block, blockstring, SoD>xxx, Run away, Repeat.
pochp Posted July 4, 2011 Posted July 4, 2011 Zeromus posted a list of something like that recently in the combo thread. We can't say what's optimal and what isn't yet though, there's still a lot of stuff left to discover (keep up the good work, C0R!). Sometimes you have to chose between additional steins or more damage, so optimal is an ambiguous term as well, and there's quite a bit of character specific stuff, so you really have to go through the thread if you're looking for the absolute best known stuff for situations.
pochp Posted July 5, 2011 Posted July 5, 2011 Yo god damn. I think I can get 8k off 5b. But I won't know until I get back. Hmm. Unless someone wants to try... (Corner crouching, array of 4 steins in place) 5b > 5c > 6c > SoD > 6b > 6a > j.2c > j.5d > 2b > 5c > 2c > j.2c > j.5d > 2b > 5c > 2c > j.2c > Dash 3c > 632146d > j.2c > (3c?) 632146c So I tried it and couldn't get it to work, but I know it can. I always dropped something in the j.2c > Dash 3c > 632146d , but I go it one time and misinputed the second super I was kinda pissed. Then I got the parts to dual mod my stick so I worked on that and just finished, but working tomorrow, so going to bed. Anyways, it's pretty easy to get to the part where I always drop, you just have to hold down SoD as much as possible and get the timing for the 6B, but then ugh /wrists. I could get it to do around 7.4k dropping the dash so I only got half the lasers to hit, it'll likely be around 8k. here's the notation with the extra dashes I used: 5b > 5c > 6c > SoD > (dash) 6b > dash 6a > j.2c > j.5d > (dash) 2b > 5c > 2c > j.2c > j.5d > dash 2b > 5c > 2c > j.2c > Dash 3c > 632146d > j.2c > (3c?) 632146c the dashes in parenthesis are optional and sightly harder, but act like insurance in case you screw up the next dash. Input them early, if you get them, good, if you don't, just don't screw up the next one
SolarMisae Posted July 5, 2011 Posted July 5, 2011 (edited) I'll test it out again later if I find time. C0R will probably get to it before me anyways though. xD Edit: yeah I'm dropping it around the same spot too. I can get dash > 3C and input the super relatively quick but it drops and they tech and the super doesn't connect. Perhaps our execution is just that bad. But it does indeed feel possible. Just hard. C0R Posted July 5, 2011 Posted July 5, 2011 The Dash 3c mechanic that is also found in the Charged Laser fatal combo is very challenging, but it should work. Also, $500 in leftover fireworks. Party time tomorrow.
SolarMisae Posted July 5, 2011 Posted July 5, 2011 (edited) Yeah which is weird cause I can actually do the charged laser combo pretty okay, but I'm having trouble with this one. Dunno why. xD But yes, it definitely feels possible. I just haven't been able to finish it to get exact numbers. Edited July 5, 2011 by SolarMisae
pochp Posted July 5, 2011 Posted July 5, 2011 I was actually having a lot of trouble getting the j.2C to connect, and then when I get it I'm like oooh shit can't drop the rest... fuck. Anyone have advice for it? When I get it, it feels random, I don't exactly understand what I'm doing right or wrong, but maybe it's just that the timing is very strict.
YukiBlue Posted July 5, 2011 Posted July 5, 2011 Noob Q: Say, for Example, My opponent whiffs, or I IB something like Inferno Divaidah. I use SoD charged as a punish. Is this a good punish? I know I could go into a combo, but im not sure if its the same with Mu, I dont really see her as useful close range as she is mid range...If that makes sense? Because using SoD as a punish gives me time to build a Stein House.
