Now I'm just sad I won't get to play it :< Damn you 5bp.
Yeah same here. :(

If the 360 is the console for "real gamers," as 5pb what does that make the PS3?

The console for "real people" :P

Seriously I find it so odd that the most unpopular system in Japanese history (more people own a Dreamcast then a 360 :psyduck:), not to mention the least Japanese, has the most Japanese games exclusive to it. 360 sells like shit on a stick and only sees "noticeable" sales when one of these said exclusives releases. Yet for some reason companies feel it's THE system to release bullet hell, visual novel, and idolmaster games on, WTF? :\

Well here's another pretty good vid. Dat priority :v:

If anyone here has a 360 and a flashdrive, it appears that this demo might not have system verification attached to it, I was able to install the demo on a flashdrive and play it on another 360.

So if you guys wanted, I could upload this demo and anyone with a 360 and a flashdrive could play it. However, keep in mind that the full game will require a foreign 360, even if the demo works on any 360.

It's like PS3 only consumers are being punished for not taking a risk with a system that's known to fail, ie: RROD.

I honestly wouldn't mind getting a 360 for games like Halo, Gears of War, etc. but that RROD shit is such a turn off, and yet some Japanese game companies develop their games for the 360 only, a system known to fail thanks to the RROD. I don't know if it's because developing games for the 360 costs less than for the PS3 or whatever, someone care to enlighten us please?

And yes I'm still salty for not getting Senko no Ronde for the PS3. :vbang:

This game looks good--probably never going to have japanese anything to get the full version--here's hoping it comes to the PC.

Don't want to get into a console war, but RROD is not as big deal as they make it out to be.

I had an original 360 the year it came out (without the heat resistant chips) and I got a doc station with a fan for it cheap. Played the shit out of it for years. Never had a problem until I took it to my mom's and my little bro put in a game and unplugged the docking station and left it like that over night.

Microsoft--a company I personally hate on a lot of levels--sent out out the coffin immediately and I got it replaced/fixed.

Check out SXRD, green blob, yellow stain, etc. Sony was sued for refusing to fix their faulty TVs--and many people paid $5000+ for these (including my parents). The lawsuit was a total scam and after giving millions to lawyers, Sony agreed to 'repair' the TVs for a year.

Guess what? The problems comes back within 6 months because the heat damage to the optical block is so severe (if it even gets decently fixed to begin with).

So I know a lot of people who don't buy Sony because of this and also because of the viruses they used to put on their music CDs. You still got to be careful with those old CDs. Or the Sony exploding laptop batteries that actually injured people.

I still buy from Sony, I'm just WARY like I am with every company.

You got to do the research with every product regardless of the brand name on the side.

Get a cooling station and if you don't mind a little PC fan noise, then you're set.

Played the demo. Liked it. Not sure if it's worth 90$ to import though.

AH3 is a much better value I think.

Anyone know where I can check out the rest of the cast? I like Mikato so far.

Gameplay is a bit odd, as all the specials seemed to be just done with the SP button. IE 2+SP = SRK, 6+SP = Fireball etc.

Another nice vid Nora! (I LOVE Ga-Rei ZERO!) Ugh I'm really liking this game, but I shouldn't because I can't play it >.<

I'd be very thankful for more vids (specifically of Mikoto, as I'd probably main her from the looks of it) and upping the demo would be nice (I'm sure I can find a friend's 360 to play it on = w=) Hope the game still hits it's April release date :<

DEMO DOWNLOAD: http://www.megaupload.com/?d=Z5T8WVE5

OKAY I'VE UPLOADED THE DEMO. WARNING: YOU WILL NEED TO DO WORK.

Things you will need:

*A computer

*An xbox 360

*A flash drive with at least 1GB free space

*Some brains

EASY MODE: You can skip all of this if you have a Japanese Xbox Live Account. This demo can be downloaded off Xbox Live even with a japanese silver account starting Tuesday or Wednesday. This tutorial is for lazy people that can't make japanese xbox live accounts.)

Step 1.) Make your flashdrive xbox-accessible. To do this, insert the flashdrive in the Xbox 360, go to 'Memory', try to open your flashdrive. It'll ask you to make the flashdrive xbox-accessible. You'll want to give the xbox at least 700MB of your flashdrive space, as the demo is 522mb.

Step 2.) You're done with the xbox for now. Put your flashdrive in your CPU.

Step 3.) Get and run Xtaf Explorer. I am not going to tell you how.

Step 4.) Open your flashdrive using Xtaf Explorer (File--->Device Selector)

Step 5.) Create the following folder structure USING XTAF EXPLORER if it doesn't already exist.

Data Partition > Content > 0000000000000000 > 465687E6 > 00080000

Step 6.) Select 0008000 using xtaf explorer. Unzip the downloaded demo, and drag the file from the unzipped folder (do not drag the folder, only the file) into xtaf explorer

Step 7.) It should look like this: http://i.imgur.com/kgMbA.png

Step 8.) You are done. Unplug the flashdrive and insert it in the xbox. You should find Phantom Breaker Demo available in the game library

Final+Legal Note.) Please do -NOT- access Xbox Live while using this demo. The demo has no xbox live features. However, this demo is resigned to my profile/system, so if multiple people are using xbox live while playing the demo, xbox live might go "lolwut?". Perhaps i'm being paranoid, but, really, you don't need live access when playing this demo. As I said, this -is- a free demo and absolutely nothing should happen, and this is completely legal, but i'm just taking precautions. It goes without saying you have been warned.

Bonus Note.) The demo should work on any system and any profile, but, if, for some reason, it does not work for you, then you may need to resign it using a certain program that is probably illegal, so, you're screwed.

P.S: This is not illegal. This is a freely-available demo.

Awesomeness! Thanks x100 Nora :3

Yeah when if I get this game I'd definitely play Mikoto, unless one of the other character that aren't in the demo appeal to me more (which I only see Waka or Ria doing that = w=)

Do we still have no idea what's in the even more over priced special edition?

I have the limited edition and an imported 360 preordered from play-asia. I'm not 100% sure what the limited edition has yet. It goes without saying for any limited edition for an anime-esque game to expect an artbook and a different case. The limited edition case has no guys on the cover (the regular one has both guys visible). Other than that, other limited bonuses are anybody's guess.

If you would like, I can videotape me unboxing the limited edition if/when I get it.

P.S. If anyone has any problems installing the demo, either send me a PM or add me on MSN @ dark-sonic999@hotmail.com and i'll be more than happy in giving you personal assistance in installing this demo.

Few notes about Mikoto:

66A seems pretty worthless

66B is good (I follow 6SP+C with it)

66C is good for comboing into

6SP sucks, it's slow and if you're not at least half screen away, you'll get hit in recovery even if it connects.

6SP+C is really good. I use it as a combo finisher.

Mikoto seems to play a lot like 3S Chun Li. Game plan is to poke with 2C, and hit confirm into 4SP+C super.

There is no training mode, so I have no idea how solid any of my combos are. Typically though,I'll poke with 2A and cancel into B's and CCC, then SP (usually 4 and 6 but sometimes I get 2 by mistake)

I haven't figured out a good Anti-Air or Launcher yet. However in air she can go A, B, 2C, Jump Cancel C, land, 2C, 4SP+C

PS. 664 dashing sucks.

I was ok with all the other character designs until I saw Tin...she hurts my eyes = w= it' like they combined Miku Hatsune (the awesome Green variant) with the designs from Asobi ni Ikuyo x.x and lol at her being 9 :kitty:

I wonder if she'll be DLC or an unlockable character in the full game

Posted

lol, she's 9 years old and is running around pantless, also I retract my statement about this game being bad, it looks quite fun and quick.

Yeah I think the new character's name is Fin not Tin correct me if I'm wrong ^^;

And wasn't it already confirmed that Chaos Head characters would make cameo appearances as playable characters?

The name is romanized as "Tin" and yes there is 1 Chaos Head and Steins Gate character, cross promotion to get more sales FTW!

I really must stop watching gameplay videos of the demo and having my eyes feast on the game's delicious artwork, it's making it all the saltier for me that's it's not coming out on PS3, no matter how mundane the gameplay may be or will be. :(

^^^I haven't been following the game so it was news to me. ...that just happens to be my FAVORITE chaos head character. sooo WIN!

but the price tag on this game is sooooo not win.

This has nothing to do with the actual game, but this appears to be a cosplay contest for the game in Tokyo on April 2nd. Wish I could go, they will probably have an updated version of the game and all sorts of swag at the event T_T

We'll probably get some info on the game's story mode then (I hope!)
