Ky-Sama Posted August 4, 2010 Posted August 4, 2010 Even though I'm not sure if I'm going, I vote for Guilty Gear singles over teams-- some of the better players might not want to team up with the weaker players, so alot of people may end up without partners... If they do decide to run GG teams as well, I prefer 2v2 over 3v3; I think 2v2 may give just about everyone an opportunity to assemble a full team. Also, Marvel & Guilty Gear on the same day=fail IMO... Marvel on friday, and Guilty Gear on saturday would be much better IMO.

Sol-Bumguy Posted August 5, 2010 Posted August 5, 2010 IMHO, GG should be singles, for the reasons mentioned above. Again, perhaps someone should add/create a poll about it? Also, if the main GG tournament is going to start early mainly to give enough time for a side tournament (teams?) to run afterwards, then there should at least be a guarantee (or something close to one) that a side tournament is going to happen first (everyone who is interested should try to help out in some way, if they can--hopefully if it does happen, it will not be LAST-MINUTE/semi-disorganized like at EVO, no offense). And Marvel & GG on the same day FTL...At most majors, I usually see them running on seperate days (usually Marvel on Friday, IIRC), and because SB is known for being this great, big tournament that is extremely hype for both GG & Marvel players, I kind feel that each game deserves its own day-- but if that is what works best for SB/the staff, then so be it...

I'd love to have a solid team tourney one day, but just never seems to happen. Senkei, never underestimate Ohio weather. Just because it happens to be in October, don't think we can't get it down to -10. Even if the day before it is 72 or something.

BB will most likely be Sunday morning because it's running on PS3 and may get big, so it will get its own attention/systems away from SSFIV best this way. GG singles (the official, pre-paid tournament) should be starting early Sat to leave time for teams afterwards which I'm sure you guys also want to run. Marvel/GG/SSFIV pools will each be running Saturday, and then Super Turbo we will prob start in the afternoon as well.

Second not only Xaq but Nazgul was giving you trouble as well, so if zoners are your specialty then you must have gained this skill in the past week or so. Lastly you've never played a good Faust so all i'm saying to you is when you lose don't give me the excuse i've heard 100,000 times "I don't know that Faust match-up that shit is weird"

Not to say that Nazgul isn't a competent player but the only reason I was having so much trouble is because my controller was malfunctioning and I was recovering from a crazy hangover that morning drinking with 10stars, Zidanel33t, Doomie J, Alzareth and a couple others. I was a mess for ECT2, anyone there could tell you. Also Alzareth is a better Testament and I beat him pretty consistently, of course he gets his games too. You really have no idea but I will laugh when you do. Even with all the problems I was having I eliminated Nazgul, and put Xaq in losers for that tourney so actually that is the worst example you could use. I play Mr. Quotes and Drunken Chicken over here and they are pretty competent Faust players soo..... we'll see. If you are as gimmicky as your signature entails, I'll have a little bit more trouble than I thought. Other than that Imma take your money, buy a sandwich, take one bite, and then throw it away.

To be honest, we were wayyyyy too fucking drunk walking around the venue at like 7AM that morning. I mean, i get drunk, but i slept in the fucking bathtub that night. We had like...2 hours sleep max. And when we were awakened it was by 10stars jumping drunkenly on us as we sleep. Rough tourney day, i shoulda placed higher as well. DBC is a good venom though, so atleast i had a good ass match to go out with a bang. We gotta run this back in OH. Shit was too fun.
