The GG scene is by far the most accepting, helpful scene I've ever been around in my 9 years of gaming competitively. How do you know what he means anyways? You've been to precisely 1 major to play against these "animu douchebags." Finally, if you have nothing to do at a goddamn major, then it's your fault. Be social, talk to people and find some goddamn casuals somewhere, because they're definitely happening throughout the venue. MAYBE the MB scene was guilty of this at Evo, but that couldn't have been further from the truth at NEC last year. Everyone was chill and cool to talk to, and every question I had there I left with an answer to. All you have to do is *gasp* TALK TO PEOPLE!!! Amazing!

A group of us probably wouldn't catch that treatment, but before we deem Bali Hai to have dropped in the "where to eat in Raleigh" tierlist, we need to see how well they do in the matchup vs 6+ people.
purify Posted October 26, 2010 Posted October 26, 2010 Well, my theory is that this wouldn't happen had I gotten 3 bowls. I'll be sure to test that next time I go. Even if they do charge me more, I'm still eating out of it 3-4 times. Jon edit: they didn't say anything this time, but the young dude that cosplays and stuff had been jokingly (at least, me and Doug thought he was joking lol) saying they were going to charge more for excess. He wasn't even there this last time, it was just the girls and Isaac, but yeah...they probably figure that it's mostly unfair that I get this much with two bowls whereas most people that buy 3 are getting less food...plus that they're not making as much money when people like me come in lol. So I'll just try a third bowl next time.

But the amount of food Brent gets with two bowls is broke-tier (emphasis on broke, from Bali's perspective), so they probably started charging him the three-bowl price. They definitely know my face, I still get a good amount of food and get charged the regular price for two bowls. So, Bali isn't dropping for me unless they really start cracking down.

purify Posted October 26, 2010 Posted October 26, 2010 It was $15.28, which is considerably higher than the 3 bowl price. 2 bowls is 8.50, 3 is 10.50. Even with 3 bowls, plus noodles (.50 extra), a drink (around $2 I imagine), that's still short of $14 after tax. So I'm just hoping that I'll have -less- of an overcharge if I get three bowls really lol.
