gamewizard108 Posted September 4, 2011 Posted September 4, 2011 so ive been bb playing for a couple days now and i feel like all im doing is training mode lol. also can someone tell me what instant block does, does it put you at plus frames or a neutral state or something? i saw a hazama player instant block in the middle of a block string and immediately countered with 5B during the block string. ive been trying to do the same thing but im getting blown up haha.
testament101 Posted September 4, 2011 Posted September 4, 2011 Instant block lowers the amount of frames that you're in blockstun. I forgot how much though. In CS1, it was 5 frames but they changed it b/c it was really good and made the game more defensive than offensive. It also gives you a good amount of meter. So by application, you can make atks that would normally be safe on block unsafe b/c you recover faster.

If anyone needs my address please send me a PM on here or over at SRK (xxjosxx). Starting at 2pm, going till .. whenever. Will have multiple LAGLESS setups (CRT and asus monitors).

I believe in BBCS2 Instant blocking reducess hitstun by 3 frames. This doesn't mean that you'll always be at advantage because depending on what move you instant blocked, your opponent can simply cancel the move into another. You have to know what your opponents options are after you block your opponent's move before you can just throw out an attack. DON'T THINK YOU'RE IN THE CLEAR JUST BECAUSE YOU INSTANT BLOCK SOMETHING.
TITANIUM BEAST!!! Posted September 5, 2011 Posted September 5, 2011 IB on ground in CS2 is -3 frames from blockstun, in air it's -6. Like Austin said, you have to remain aware of your opponent's options regardless, but IBing reduces blockstun and pushout AND gives you free meter. You can also combine it with Barrier to get the benefits of both types of guard, at the expense of only taking off 2 frames of guardstun on the ground and 5 in the air.

I'm thinking NC State, but I just assume that's easiest for people. If not, I'm fine with never going to gatherings but placing first in tournaments, lol.

If there aren't any better locations, I'd be down for that. If there's some other people on-campus that have an interest, that'd be sweet. I'm open to more than GG/BB (3S, SSF4, Catherine, or any other multi-player game that there's an interest in).

It's a bit more spacious, has a nice big flat screen, a few couches, and a balcony. Just lemme' know what works best for everyone. I wouldn't mind getting together this Saturday if people are interested.

7thFonon Posted September 10, 2011 Posted September 10, 2011 Me and Shinso Beam are playing Arcana Heart 3 at NC State tomorrow (Saturday), but if people wanna bring a TV / PS3 for blazblue, I'm sure people will play.... Especially if one of you guys get in contact with Dale (RoboCurse) cuz he's been posting on SRK about wanting to play BB. I'm sure me and Shinso Beam will play a little BB too, since most of our AH3 players have either went to that VA tournament / not coming this weekend. Also, we play every Saturday, and usually start around 1:30. Wolves' Den Talley Student Center Raleigh, NC 27606 *:Located off of Dan Allen Drive Start Time : 1:30pm (people may show up before then?) There's more details about the place on the NC srk thread. Hope to see some of you guys tomorrow.
