Dusty Posted October 26, 2011 Posted October 26, 2011 (edited) I don't really want to go into too much detail, but pretty much our top 3 looked like SoCal's danisen casuals. I don't know how many are aware, but NorCal BB is a laughing stock for west coast BB. SoCal and PNW pretty much laugh at NorCal BB. NorCal BB is free compared to PNW and SoCal. Why so harsh SpiritJuice? I'm quite glad that you guys are taking initiative in leveling up your scene, seeing as the California area pretty much has the most tournaments in the U.S. and Norcal in general has the most BB exposure. I personally feel that BB in the U.S. is dying and is not considered a "High Level Tournament Worthy" game, and seeing as you guys get the most exposure you have to make it seem like we BB players just don't jump and flail around trying to do combos on each other like a lot of people think we do. I'm also always hoping for other scenes to level up to give PNW better competition. So after you guys get scraped at NWM maybe you guys will obtain the drive to get better...maybe. Even though I may not (currently) be playing BB, it would still be nice to make sure the scene isn't a joke. I'm really hoping this thing with Filipino Champ and possibly Ricky Ortiz works out and starts to make NorCal hungry. Shit I should get Emphy/Mr. Naps to start playing again since the T6 scene is 100% dead.
OrionXElite Posted October 26, 2011 Posted October 26, 2011 Lets just make a big showing at Tight or Fight and we can bring the hype for BB :3
sakabato24 Posted October 26, 2011 Posted October 26, 2011 Make sure you guys bring dat iDOLM@STER hype in remembrance for me please? *Laugh* On a serious note, I'm very tired from my whole month of doing 24hr shifts, and once I'm off, I'll be heading to Milan for some BB casuals with the locals over there. I'll be trying to interview them for the BB Expose for Polka. Hope you guys look forward to that.
Eggs&Rice Posted October 26, 2011 Posted October 26, 2011 For those of you that wanna be savvy with Gundam vs Gundam, every Sunday in Gamecenter is happy hour, when each game costs 25 credits. That's $0.25 for every game, and not to mention you get to fight against the best players in California. Lets just make a big showing at Tight or Fight and we can bring the hype for BB :3 Is that the Thursday night tournament that Myung hosts biweekly?
Ginseng Posted October 26, 2011 Posted October 26, 2011 Tight or Fight is the Keystone hosted event that's been happening at MGL. They are bringing it back on November 19th at Milpitas golfland. Honnou Posted October 27, 2011 Posted October 27, 2011 (edited) Sorry for the change of subject but THIS SUNDAY IS OLD PEOPLE GAMES DAY @ Southtown Arcade Haunts of IplayWinner fame is looking to stream a GG ranbat and needs players. He would like to see if people can come this Sunday. I'd like to get some people to go and put on a good showing as this kind of coverage isn't easy to get from such a well-known site as IPW, and to show that SOME people still play dead games. Please post and let it be known if you're available to go to Southtown arcade in San Francisco this Sunday Edited October 27, 2011 by Honnou
Dakanya Posted October 27, 2011 Posted October 27, 2011 Well we used to stream NCI on ipw... Also you just dropped the word ranbat meaning that haunts would like to make GG a regular thing...? Or just the old people thing I guess... Anyways I am undecided for now
Mayftw Posted October 27, 2011 Posted October 27, 2011 GG ranbat Why this coming Sunday and not the Sunday after? Don't get paid till next week. D:
Tone Posted October 27, 2011 Posted October 27, 2011 because its being streamed alongside the ST/CVS ranbats
ehuangsan Posted October 27, 2011 Posted October 27, 2011 Is it only on arcade with Japanese sticks, or....?
Honnou Posted October 27, 2011 Posted October 27, 2011 Yes, all Sanwa. Ehuangsan, GG is such an easy game, no way you'd drop a combo due to something simple like a change of parts...

Ehuangsan, GG is such an easy game, no way you'd drop a combo due to something simple like a change of parts... why..... The difference in stick for me is like the difference for what Michael Jordan can do at 42 versus what he could do at 23. Though I can probably survive playing GG without being able to DP consistently. But i'll look like a total doofus playing CvS or ST on JP stick (´・ω・`) Edited October 27, 2011 by ehuangsan
Spirit Juice Posted October 27, 2011 Author Posted October 27, 2011 Time to stop playing on shitty MAS sticks. The rest of the world has moved on... Why haven't you? Old man.
ehuangsan Posted October 27, 2011 Posted October 27, 2011 THIS IS AMERICA! WE PLAY ON AMERICAN STICKS, DAMMIT!

And ehuang, we can always bring a setup as well, like we did in the past. Vsav will be present as well for old school trolling. So far, who can go? List: me Tenkai ehuang? ginseng (dont go back home this time!)? ? ?
Ginseng Posted October 28, 2011 Posted October 28, 2011 I'm always back in Milpitas during the weekends haha.
