kazukifafner Posted December 25, 2011 Posted December 25, 2011 I forget how I did it, but maybe use the last cr.lk to buffer the first hcb, then kinda buffer the 2nd hcb from the dp motion? Either that or just be really fast `3`
Rampage Posted December 25, 2011 Posted December 25, 2011 Almost every KOF that wasn't 96? The only KOF that matter are 98 UM, 2002 UM, and XI. They have Geese.
kotokot Posted December 25, 2011 Posted December 25, 2011 Man, these trials are kinda hardcore after the easymodo challenges in BB. I'm already stuck on Kula's fourth trial, where I need to input two half-circles in a short window between the two hits of her DP. How the hell am I supposed to do that? try shortcuts 6236A 236A
Vulcan422 Posted December 25, 2011 Posted December 25, 2011 The only KOF that matter are 98 UM, 2002 UM, and XI. They have Geese. Geese will never be in another KOF except for possibly Dream Matches because, like Rugal, he's dead after '97 because that's when Real Bout happens and he dies for real. For all we really know Billy could really be taking orders from Kain, who at this point would currently be trying to make his debut in the criminal underworld.

Specifically, I did whatever shit into EX qcb+K,qcb+B f+B dp+A dc qcb+D, qcb+B f+B then the super. You can do her real DP dc tatsu BnB shit into it too but the one I did is pretty damned easy and doesn't require much in the way of timing.

furix Posted December 25, 2011 Posted December 25, 2011 If story didn't matter, we wouldn't get new characters. Of course story matters :P
Starlight777 Posted December 25, 2011 Posted December 25, 2011 Yes praise story, without it I wouldn't have Saiki.
Mightfo Posted December 26, 2011 Posted December 26, 2011 (edited) I didnt know you could whiff cancel into command normals. I knew you could into specials, but not command normals. interesting If story didn't matter, we wouldn't get new characters. what? they could add characters without including them in the story or anything. anyway, i meant that it is obvious they will put characters in for any old reason. again, vice/mature. i doubt think ash is going away next game, even if they dont decide to make up an excuse like for vice/mature. You can input DPs in this game as 632146P. So input this combo as: 2B 2B 5B 632146C ~3214C Takes a little thinking to remember to DP like that but it makes the cancel very easy.

It also makes Elizabeth and Flame Iori's command grabs annoying as shit. I've lost count of how many times I accidentally got Elizabeth's DP instead of her command grab when I wanted it. Not like it's a big deal with Elizabeth's DP because that's pretty safe on block, but still... Edited December 26, 2011 by Bolverk-GTM
Kriegdrache Posted December 26, 2011 Posted December 26, 2011 Im still getting used to the game but it's so much fun. Rocking Terry/Athena/Kula at the moment. Dark Ash's theme is fucking amazing. dat intro.
NickExtreme1 Posted December 27, 2011 Posted December 27, 2011 So I caved and and got this game(luckily with the soundtrack ). I wish my brother would get off of Skyrim so I can play

Thanks, this one worked like magic. ...Too bad that it didn't make the rest of the challenges any easier I don't even have enough confidence to try Arcade, since I can't link even the easy stuff.

KoF XIII's AI is dumb as hell. Really easy to beat if you ask me (I'm comparing this to the insane AI from the earlier games, of course).

Kriegdrache Posted December 27, 2011 Posted December 27, 2011 lol arcade all I did was JHP > HP > BARN KNAKARU and I was stylin

Good to know. On pad, it can be pretty easy to accidentally hit 3 when moving to 6, so that would explain why I sometimes get a DP. It doesn't happen as often as it used to, but it still happens from time to time. Guess I'll practice that input more when I get home. *Has nightmares about 98 UM Rugal* GENOCIDE CUTTAH!
Star-Demon Posted December 27, 2011 Posted December 27, 2011 KoF XIII's AI is dumb as hell. Really easy to beat if you ask me (I'm comparing this to the insane AI from the earlier games, of course). Any time I had to fight anyone at distance, I'd just ( 623HP * N )with Vice. I beat the entire tail end of arcade and story this way.

The challenges are pretty hard to begin with, I wouldn't worry about them too much. Work on the simple B&Bs and go from there. You can cheat some of the trials too, most of Kula's that require you to do 623C x 214C(2) ... you can cheat by doing 623C x 214AC-6D, 214C ... instead. Which is much easier to do.
kazukifafner Posted December 29, 2011 Posted December 29, 2011 GG's Star-Demon. If I may, I think you should definitely practice jumping around in training mode a bit. Or just try it out in arcade or something, because I notice that you don't really jump a lot with any of your characters accept for Mai. Most of the time, the reason the other two were in the air was because of a special move put them there. I'm guessing that you just don't have a lot of confidence in jumping how you want consistently, but I think it would really help you out and give you ways of opening up your opponents. Speaking of which, despite the fact that all of our matches were close, I notice that you just couldn't "finish me off." This makes me think that you are currently having trouble creating situations to attack your opponent, and getting most of your damage just off of my bonehead mistakes (and believe me, I'm just a beginner too, so I make a lot of them, lol). Like I said, practicing your jumping would really help (just so you can get that basic high/low mixup and pressure), along with looking up/trying out frame traps for your characters (such as how I would try to pin you to the ground just a moment longer by using Kensou's fireball after his rekka series). Not that you didn't have any kind of pressure at all, but it seemed more special-oriented than it probably should be, if that makes sense.
