omegaryuji Posted November 9, 2011 Posted November 9, 2011 Really bad defensive options and link timings are very tight (apparently even tighter in console version). Yeah, I wish there was more holding him back than just that (been saying that since like April *laughs* ), but I guess the fact that pretty much anyone can rush him down is better than nothing.
SolxBaiken Posted November 10, 2011 Posted November 10, 2011 Atlus released a video talking about the basics of KoF
Starlight777 Posted November 10, 2011 Posted November 10, 2011 Recommending Kyo as a beginner character? EWWW! I don't wanna see that guy on damn near every team.
Star-Demon Posted November 10, 2011 Posted November 10, 2011 This game just got budgeted out. There's no spectator mode. I mean, come on, how am I supposed to hype this game by streaming it, or participate in a community for this game without hauling my ass over to an arcade for more than the price of the game itself each day? They need a spectator mode. Get one.
SolxBaiken Posted November 10, 2011 Posted November 10, 2011 whaaa The original Marvel vs Capcom 3 says "hi"
Starlight777 Posted November 10, 2011 Posted November 10, 2011 Doesn't spectator mode lag things up anyway?
natearistata Posted November 10, 2011 Posted November 10, 2011 The original Marvel vs Capcom 3 says "hi" yeah, because MvC3 totally didn't eat shit for that decision for a while until everyone realized the online was ass anyway
Tsuki Garyuu Posted November 10, 2011 Posted November 10, 2011 (edited) Example of the replay system. The stats board is not a bad touch.Doesn't spectator mode lag things up anyway? Not that much. For some games, it just varies on your connectivity, like BB. Even with my apartment's terribad feedback, whether I'm in a match or not, there's not much lag in AH3. The instant-spectator, fast-forward addition in CS doesn't give the matches much lag either, but it does whenever someone with a bad connection just showed up. Besides, MvC3 online was bad even without spectator mode. Edited November 10, 2011 by Tsuki Garyuu
Prototype909 Posted November 10, 2011 Posted November 10, 2011 Seeing as I intend to be playing this game in real life more than online if all things go well, I am willing to overlook the lack of spectator so long as the actual netcode and game are good.
SolxBaiken Posted November 10, 2011 Posted November 10, 2011 OH GAWD! If replays show inputs, then that means everyone can find out when I'm mashing! D: I'm gonna get exposed orz

Bolverk-GTM Posted November 11, 2011 Posted November 11, 2011 Recommending Kyo as a beginner character? EWWW! I don't wanna see that guy on damn near every team. Lol that won't last though. Besides, do you know how many people will try this game out? Plenty of casual players will put Kyo on their team because he's the main character. It won't take long for them to realize that Kyo won't help them get by if they have no idea what they're doing.
Mightfo Posted November 11, 2011 Posted November 11, 2011 Apparently saving replays is network mode only, like usual. Why, though? Why is it that fighting games let you save online replays, but not offline?
furix Posted November 11, 2011 Posted November 11, 2011 Because online is the only thing that matters, of course!
Starlight777 Posted November 11, 2011 Posted November 11, 2011 Online only matters if you're forever alone in your taste in games like me.
Starlight777 Posted November 12, 2011 Posted November 12, 2011 Or you're in a lonely state like Oklahoma Thank god I live in Pennsylvania. Or not.
A.B.A-can-do Posted November 12, 2011 Posted November 12, 2011 I live in Georgia where the play gatherings are too spaced out for travel so I need online.
George Costanza Posted November 12, 2011 Posted November 12, 2011 Forgive me for the retarded question. But Dustloop is the main hub for Guilty Gear/Blazblue and Shoryuken is for Street Fighter/Marvel I'd just like to know what the website for King of Fighters is, I plan on getting this game on release as I was really interested in getting XII but never got around to getting it.

"XII" doesn't exist. http://www.atlus.com/kofxiii/
Bolverk-GTM Posted November 12, 2011 Posted November 12, 2011 (edited) Thank god I live in Pennsylvania. Or not. What the fuck? Play offline with me and AyaImmortal, dammit! I'd just like to know what the website for King of Fighters is, I plan on getting this game on release as I was really interested in getting XII but never got around to getting it. I didn't know there was a such thing as KoF XII. I thought SNK just skipped a number by accident when they titled KoF XIII. Anyways most people use Dream Cancel for KoF stuff. Oh all right, we're doing the whole "there is no Tsukihime anime" thing. Okay then.
Vulcan422 Posted November 12, 2011 Posted November 12, 2011 [RANT] This "XII" of which you speak was an obvious beta that had only 22 characters who weren't organized into teams (thereby making it not KOF), the shittiest netcode I have ever seen in a fighting game (worse than Tekken 6 and Dead or Alive 4), annoying and poorly executed screen zooming, horrible music, horrible control systems, and every character only had like 3 moves and only one super. This game is like playing the equivalent of Street Fighter II Turbo: Hyper Fighting in HD. It looks pretty, but when it comes to gameplay it's total fucking garbage. [/RANT]
