Starlight777 Posted November 4, 2011 Posted November 4, 2011 (edited) Wow I hear that Japan got ANOTHER delay for December 1st. If this spreads to NA I am going to fucking self destruct. SNKP quit screwing with us! EDIT: Now that I think about it, Japan's delay might be to avoid a certain Capcom fighter. If that's the case it will happen to us. I understand why, but that possible reason pisses me off even more! Edited November 4, 2011 by Starlight777
omegaryuji Posted November 4, 2011 Posted November 4, 2011 Atlus's staff had this to say on their forums: We're still set for the 22nd, though that isn't necessarily set in stone. Things can happen at the last minute which can result in minor delays like this (nothing development-wise, obviously, since we're beyond that point). I'm not entirely sure why exactly Japan made the slight delay, but then again, they never gave a firm release date since the initial delay. Paraphrasing, "We're saying there's no delay, but there might be." I saw one person suggest it was because EX Iori is a preorder bonus in Japan and this was to line up the game release with the DLC release. Plausable, but we'll see what we will see.
Starlight777 Posted November 4, 2011 Posted November 4, 2011 I think the possible delay is to avoid all releases in November. Still annoying that the ONE possible thing that could piss me off is possible.
omegaryuji Posted November 4, 2011 Posted November 4, 2011 Nov 22 makes sense for a US release, though. Week of black friday (biggest retail day), brand new game on the shelves, $15-$20 cheaper than pretty much every other new game, calling itself The King of an entire genre, with beautiful HD graphics on the screenshots and a pretty blonde in red on the cover holding a love letter...that's about as "buy me, random gamer!" as you can get, especially if said random gamer has heard of Atlus as well. Pretty much any release in November or December is going to have competition out the ass anyway, so if they were going to delay just to dodge stuff, it should've been from Oct 25 to early 2012. Would've pissed the hell out of me since I've been looking forward to this a lot, but probably would've made the most business sense that way.
Starlight777 Posted November 4, 2011 Posted November 4, 2011 So true and now that I think about it when the delay was first announced, Japan's date was TBA. I'm guessing December 1st was their date all along. Also NA did get XII a week before Japan so this does make sense now.
SolxBaiken Posted November 4, 2011 Posted November 4, 2011 Classic Iori Combos OMG, that EX Fireball is SOOOOOOO dirty! + w+
Vulcan422 Posted November 4, 2011 Posted November 4, 2011 I think I just jizzed about a hundred times. Instant main.
BlueSky Posted November 5, 2011 Posted November 5, 2011 Love what they did with classic Iori in 13. Style is off the charts X)
Blade Posted November 6, 2011 Posted November 6, 2011 Just curious but, who's a guy gotta ask for them to do a "KOFXIII style" Samurai Spirits?
Starlight777 Posted November 7, 2011 Posted November 7, 2011 (edited) Just curious but, who's a guy gotta ask for them to do a "KOFXIII style" Samurai Spirits? Mmm, I like the sound of an HD SamSho, too bad KOF will be lost under the close releases of overrated or more popular games in November. Edited November 7, 2011 by Starlight777
Koozebanian Fazoob Posted November 7, 2011 Posted November 7, 2011 (edited) Well on the upside, KOF13 has around 100k preorders just in the US alone. So it's not looking all that bad so far in terms of sales. But yeah, I wouldn't hold your breath for anything else at this point, SNK has just barely been stringing along their fighting game division for a while now. I wouldn't be surprised if SNK started farming out their classic series to a 3rd party developer, since that's all the rage these days. Look forward to more shitty fighters made by DIMPS/8ing in your future! :/ Edited November 7, 2011 by Koozebanian Fazoob
Tsuki Garyuu Posted November 7, 2011 Posted November 7, 2011 Mmm, I like the sound of an HD SamSho, too bad KOF will be lost under the close releases of overrated or more popular games in November. It still appalls me that SNK and Atlus would push the release date and be so close to other popular games. It doesn't stand a chance against UMvC3.
furix Posted November 7, 2011 Posted November 7, 2011 Yeah, of course it doesn't. It is actually kinda funny how they wanted to wait to release the game when no other fighter was coming out, as they didn't want to compete... Yet... I look at the releases for November, and there's just SO MANY GAMES, not just fighters, but a loooot of games.. Then, December has like 4 games total. lol
Tsuki Garyuu Posted November 7, 2011 Posted November 7, 2011 Believe me, I could wait for as much as I need to buy KOFXIII. When it's released in a month of so many other games, it just worries me. I look at Atlus and think "has nobody learned from NetherRealm Studios?" MK9 kicked MvC3's ass so hard that it got into the top 20 highest selling games this year, simply because it was released a few months after MvC3 along with strong promotion. Chances are KOF will get more than 200k copies (when it probably could've gotten 100k more if released before or after November), and that's not including Japan which will probably sell much higher.
furix Posted November 7, 2011 Posted November 7, 2011 Yeah, that is very true. It's sad that KoF13 will be having less sales than it could have gotten... I already know of a few people that have told me they aren't getting KoF13 because they are getting UMvC3, and some other games in November...
Tsuki Garyuu Posted November 7, 2011 Posted November 7, 2011 I already know of a few people that have told me they aren't getting KoF13 because they are getting UMvC3, and some other games in November... My friends will more or less buy that game in a blink. Why buy UMvC3 when I can just play with my friends' copy? lol
furix Posted November 7, 2011 Posted November 7, 2011 Haha, true enough. I am sorta not getting UMvC3 because a friend said he would, I still want to save some cash so I can buy Gundam Extreme Vs. in December. ... Maybe I'll cancel my KoFXIII and Tekken Hybrid orders for dat Gundam!... jk.. maybe. D: Imports are so expensive. ;___; But, yeah... I'll make sure to bring my KoFXIII to the gaming club that's at my college to hopefully spark interest in people that didn't get it. haha
furix Posted November 7, 2011 Posted November 7, 2011 Wait, that's a tournament match? I saw a pause and a button config. >_>... Then they carry on without restarting D:

Tsuki Garyuu Posted November 8, 2011 Posted November 8, 2011 (edited) DAM, dat Iron Maxima. lol I think I'll spend my first minutes making a Sanae palette for Duo Lon. Edited November 8, 2011 by Tsuki Garyuu
Koozebanian Fazoob Posted November 9, 2011 Posted November 9, 2011 Almost certainly asking this on the wrong forum, but can anyone explain to me how Takuma is not going to be completely horrifically broken? The guy gets 100%s for dirt cheap, off of anything as long as you aren't more than 1/2 stage length from the corner. I was thinking I hadn't seen him even used that much or winning much, so maybe he just sucks other than his damage output? That doesn't really seem to be the case though, he seems really good at all ranges. He even got pretty significantly buffed in the console version as well.
