Nuclear Cheese Posted April 18, 2011 Posted April 18, 2011 I want to play fighting games with someone. :/ I'm bored. Ah well, time to go to the dentist's. ;_; The obvious solution is to have a first-to-10 against your dentist (in GG, of course!). If you win, your appointment is free. If you lose, you get teeth drilled.

If you lose, you get teeth drilled. That's not fair because dentists typically don't play GG. You should play Smash instead to even the odds.
lasercakes Posted April 19, 2011 Posted April 19, 2011 I'm going to head up to PWA hopefully near 4:30 pm. Should be there near 5. I thought I'd look around other communities to get an idea on attendance. No mention of it on zaibutsu... Holy shit 51 page thread on SRK dedicated to PWA gatherings? >.> And I considered you guys extremely active. Didn't know my game was that dead. I'm speculating that no one there will be more free than me.
Vyers Posted April 19, 2011 Posted April 19, 2011 I'm speculating that no one there will be more free than me. That depends on what game you're talking about. I'm pretty damn free in every game except GGAC. I should also get there around 5 so I guess I'll see you there. (I'll be the white dude in the black trenchcoat with the HRAP 1) Craig/ Tim/ everyone else who's coming: I'll see you all soon.
xntrikcat Posted April 19, 2011 Posted April 19, 2011 En route to nh.... God I hope someone will play some cs....
Vyers Posted April 20, 2011 Posted April 20, 2011 Eh, eheheheh. This is really flattering, but at the same time. . . This probably isn't the sort of message we should send to the new players interested in learning Gear. I mean, this isn't a tournament its a casual meet up; I'm trying to teach people how to play the game not scare them away. Anyway, I had a fun time tonight. Got to try out some TVC with Adam play some GGAC with Cheese, lasercakes, and others. Didn't play any Marvel 3, but I will next time. PWA has some really cool games: BlackTiger, Sailor Moon beat-em-up (with reversed controls), Bionic Commando, that SNK frisbee game; cool stuff Laser Cakes: Thanks for giving GGAC a try. Once again Ky's basic ground to air combo is throw/ 214k/ (I think) 6P: 5s> 2h >JC, > j.s > JC > j.s > j.h> 236h> h. combo. If you want to learn more about Ky you can check out the Ky beginner guide thread here: http://www.dustloop.com/forums/showthread.php?3539-Ky-Beginner-Guide I might be able to find some match vidzs for you to watch if you're interested. Tim: It looks like Nuclear Cheese uses a different dust combo from what I saw in the Sol thread: 5d > 8 (homing jump) > 41236h > land > run in 5s > 2h > JC > j.s > 41236h >. Basically connect with 5d, jump, sidewinder, land, follow up with sidewinder loop (you can probably go into the loop using 5k > 2h/ just 2h/ other ways as well. Adam: Nice meeting you. Thanks for the use of your TV and the games in TVC. Kraig: good to see you again, I'll play you in Marvel next time Lawrence: didn't realize you made it there until they turned the lights back on. Marvel next time. If you want to play GG all you need to do is ask for a turn, Cheese and I got really into it for the last 2 hours or, so I wasn't really paying attention to the people around us. xntrikcat: I'm glad you could make it down. Are you still interested in learning Dizzy? Nuclear Cheese: good games. I see I still need to work on varying my playstyle; you seemed to predict what I would do easily. I need to block AMERICA!! DUST.
Mindgam3 Posted April 20, 2011 Posted April 20, 2011 I'm trying to teach people how to play the game not scare them away. Can't you see the red eyes and lack of glasses? Clearly it's Robo-Vyers, programmed in much the opposite demeanor than its more friendly human counterpart

Clearly it's Robo-Vyers, programmed in much the opposite demeanor than its more friendly human counterpart I see; I didn't realize I had an evil electronic alter ego. it's funny because it sounds racist ouch. I meant no offense:(
Viktormoros Posted April 20, 2011 Posted April 20, 2011 (edited) It was my first time going last night, and it was great. I mostly played Continuum Shift, but I got some Mortal Kombat 9 in. I'm not good with names yet, but thank you to the Tager player. I learned a lot about the matchup and the things Tager can do. I'm still learning, but I'll get there. (I was the Mu player.) Why-Disciple Posted April 20, 2011 Posted April 20, 2011 How many people were there at PWA in total? I'll see if I can go sometime after the semester's over. Till then I'm dealing with 1-2 exams per week, won't have much time. Curious, how big was the MK scene there?

INeedGlitch2Win Posted April 21, 2011 Posted April 21, 2011 Welp it's thursday, just this day of work and I'm off to AB. Hope to see you guys there and what not. Just look for the hazama with the ouroboros. Safe travels to everyone.
Mascarpone Posted April 21, 2011 Posted April 21, 2011 Leaving for AB tonight (in ~2hours) so look for my sexy red hair in the game room and play with me :D
kona Posted April 21, 2011 Posted April 21, 2011 PSN is down so any AH3 or MK9 netplay is gonna have to be put on hold for the sadlives that are not going to AB (such as myself). D:

I was the tager player. it was good to meet you as well. i can show you some other stuff and we can test how you can beat it next time as well. i mean, the whole purpose of this meet up is to actually bring everybody together so we can all actually get better as a community. i'm really opposed to the whole "let's just sit here and keep playing each other repeatedly without talking or figuring something out". How many people were there at PWA in total? I'll see if I can go sometime after the semester's over. Till then I'm dealing with 1-2 exams per week, won't have much time. Curious, how big was the MK scene there? there were about 18 people. MK was running on a xbox with an HD projector so my Ermac was like 15 feet tall. it was hot. i think most people played at least a little MK. it isn't very mash friendly. it's also heavily footsie based and has some really interesting things going on. I hope everybody will mark their calendars now for the next one on May 3rd. from the looks of it, nobody will need to bring any TVs either cause we have like 6 or 7 that will be there (and they are all large too).
Vyers Posted April 22, 2011 Posted April 22, 2011 (edited) Leaving for AB tonight (in ~2hours) so look for my sexy red hair in the game room and play with me :D Don't forget to pick up your badge tonight(If you preregistered). I grabbed mine in the record time of 2 minutes:) Friday lines can last anywhere from 30 minutes to 4+ hours depending on how many registration stations they have and whether you preregistered or not. Also to everyone who hasn't been to AB before. If you are at all interested in anything you might possibly find in the dealers room GET THERE AS EARLY AS POSSIBLE ON FRIDAY. The rare stuff is usually gone by Friday afternoon. PSN is down so any AH3 or MK9 netplay is gonna have to be put on hold for the sadlives that are not going to AB (such as myself). kona Posted April 23, 2011 Posted April 23, 2011 (edited) To any Blazblue players planning on going to East Coast Throwdown in June, please read this: It was brought up on SRK whether or not we could run BBCS2 when it comes out. If it does come out before the event and you guys would rather us run that over BBCS, then we will most definitely accommodate. I was the one who posed that question since Blazblue was announced as a main game. So anyone planning to attend and wants to play BB should let them know how you want to go about it. Do you want it to stay BBCS1 or switch it over to BBCS2? Voice your opinion on their thread here. Edited April 23, 2011 by kona
Danny Schme Posted April 23, 2011 Posted April 23, 2011 Please god CS2. If its CS1, I probably wouldn't enter. I almost didn't enter at WB
