lasercakes Posted April 25, 2011 Posted April 25, 2011 Hey guys. I had a lot of fun on Tuesday. I'll definitely keep showing up to this (Next one is May 3rd right?). I finally have a real reason to invest time into BB. I've started closing holes in my game, but I still need a ton of work. Vyers: I did like Guilty Gear and I was really impressed with the game from watching you and Cheese play. Playing against Cheese myself was definitely a good lesson in defense I think, but I didn't really know what to do with my character entirely. So it looks like I can pick up this game fairly cheap, but I'll have to play it on the pad or it might get expensive. There's also some GG game on Xbox Live Arcade that I could play with my terrible terrible stick, but I'm not sure how different that is from Accent Core. I'm a little bit disappointed that no one there was playing Tekken, just because I think my fighting game experience would let me be innately good at that. Also a little bit disappointed I didn't get to see Arcana Heart. I don't know anything about it besides it being an Arksys game, but I haven't heard anything bad about it from the usual critics besides it being super weeaboo.

Honestly, don't get the one on XBL Games on Demand (Reload) unless you want it for collection's sake. The tournament standard is Accent Core. I honestly think the changes are quite different when I compare my main character in both games. It's worth either dual modding your stick or buying a PS1/PS2 stick just to play GG. And you're right, you can get the game relatively cheap too!

I recommend you start with that Ky beginner thread, and check out some videos in the GGAC Video Posting Thread! in the Guilty Pleasures section of the forums. Practice timing for False Roman Cancels in training mode as well (if you turn on the input display a blue flash will appear in the input bar, right after the frc point.) If you have any specific questions about Ky pm me and I'll do my best to explain them. Is there really a Guilty Gear game for Xbox live arcade? Don't buy it, the games 2 versions old and the netplay is the shittiest I've dealt with for any fighter. The one on Xbox Live is the original Xbox version but only digitally. Plus, netplay isn't supported for original Xbox games anymore. Good riddance too. The netcode for that was awful.

Good Hazama costume, Con's are always more fun in costume. Maybe one of these years I'll cosplay the original Vyers, or grow my hair out again to cosplay Baiken, or I could be semi lazy and do Johnny again. Why: Good hanging out with you all weekend. MK9 and Tekken6 were fun (I used to hate both of these games, but I feel like I understand what to do in them better now; this especially goes for Tekken); I'd be up to play them a bit more, at least for casuals. I agree, it is easier to go by your handle than your real life name. I started introducing myself as 'Vyers' after the multiple Daves confusion at my second tourney. I hope you had a safe trip home, and I hope our conversations Saturday evening were enlightening without being disquieting. Zoob: Good bro talks, interesting stories amidst much useful advice. I am now the cheap Chinese plastic recast of Nuclear Cheese and simultaneously Kona whilst remaining myself. The theology of Xeno games was an interesting panel. You missed the cross cultural contamination of Japan and the United States, in which I bore witness to Supida Mahn! and the epic battle in which 34 generations of Super Sentai fight off an army of vile aliens. Mindgam3: Our match in GGAC finals was truly epic and enjoyable, you knocked me out of autopilot. Good shit bringing the setup again this year. FUCK HD TVs!!! I heard something about a possible group Xenogears cosplay? Vierge/Dr.OnBlast/Meghan/too many names: Good cosplay, I'll have to check out that artbook Bridget.
